Odd Food Combinations

While thinking of what I wanted to eat for lunch today, I remembered what I made yesterday for lunch, and how odd it must seem to other people. My friend and I were experimenting with different foods to mix together and eat. And we made tuna sandwiches with rice in it. It turned out to be really good 8D. So what things do you like to make that others think is totally odd and weird???

Shiki Nekozawa 07-28-2010 08:59 PM

I've made Mac & Cheese with peas & hotdogs. I have also taken the caramel dipping sauce from mcdonalds & mixed it with ketchup, not to mention my drink concoctions i've done, take a glass of water & mix shoyu, sugar, salt, baby bottle pop powder & some mountain dew, most of my friends that drink it said it tasted like iced tea.

I found out, with the help of a friend, that macaroni and cheese with hot sauce mixed in and sun chips crumbled on top(preferably with the chips kept separate and sprinkled on each bite, or else the chips get soggy) is delicious.

My friends occasionally mix everything from all of our plates together at restaurants and then normally force someone to eat it... I don't think that counts, though.

Shiki Nekozawa - Those combinations sound pretty good *o*, especially the first one. I love pasta >w>

Linhir - That does sound pretty good, I bet that I would enjoy that as well :3. I think that my dad would probably enjoy it as well. He likes to put hot sauce in a lot of the things that he eats.

Heiress of the Evening - Erm, I suppose that it counts. Though it depends on what you are mixing together, and if you enjoy eating it. I don't think that I would eat a bunch of foods just randomly mixed together like that o.O

Any fruity cereal (Fruit loops, fruity pebbles, etc) with root beer instead of milk.

Macaroni and cheese with tuna in it is okay. It's the only way to get me to eat any type of fish. Pizza dipped in soda is good too. I don't remember my other weird combos...
OH WAIT!
Rice Krispies, beef jerky, oreos, pretty much anything dipped in nacho cheese. : D

I love pasta on pizza. A lot of people think it's really weird. I also get weird comments when I make chickpea curry. It's so good though. Mac and cheese and jalapenos is awesome too.

EDIT: Another one that I get a lot of people thinking "WTF" to is a Big Mac with no meat and french fries on the burger. It seriously the most awesome thing ever.

Laila Izuka 07-29-2010 05:03 AM

Xx_IwIshIwasafIsh_xX - I've put soda in my soda before. I think it was fruit loops and sprite. It was good at first before the cereal got all soggy T_T, then I just tossed it XD (I prefer dry cereal. People think that I'm odd because I don't put milk in my cereal). Though I don't think that I would put tuna in mac and cheese. I put it on pizza though 8D (like I did for lunch earlier). I've never tried the nacho cheese thing. But I do put it on my chili dogs and omelets. Talk about amazing *o* (though that's not all too odd).

Mystic - I was seriously considering some pizza pasta thing for lunch today. To me, it sounds like it would be really good. And chickpea curry??? What is that??? o.O. And it seems like mac and cheese plus random stuff is pretty popular in this thread.
A Big Mac served like that doesn't seem that odd to me :3. I would give it a try.

Chickpea curry is like curried chicken or meat but with chickpeas. I believe it's an Indian dish. I use chickpeas in pretty much everything since they have a lot of protein and taste yummy. I also use them to make mock tuna salad and it's fantastic.

Mac and cheese and Alfrado sauce with noodles on pizza is the best, I swear.

So far I've made peanut butter and cucumber sandwiches. Quite good. Also macaroni and cheese with a can of tuna mixed in... Somehow tastes like KFC or some other kind of fast-food fried chicken... I've also used teriaki stir-fry sauce as a substitute pasta sauce... Also the combination soft drinks of mountain dew and sparkling cranberry pop... That one wasn't as odd as orange juice and milk mixed together, though... So yeah. I've had my share of odd combinations.

I've also done the pop in cereal thing. Can't remember as to what pop and cereal it was though... All I know is that it was good. At least back then when I was a young child... Not so sure about now...

About two years ago (yes, I remember this...) my sister was obsessed with the Baked Potato flavored Pringles. I got really hungry and found a whole new can of them. And I was in a sandwich mood. So I experimented. I grabbed two slices of italian bread and crushed the baked potato pringles and made them into a sandwich and...viola? A Baked Potato Pringle Sandwich. :) It is actually really good, but I'm a little disappointed that I haven't made a sandwich like that in a long time.

I love eating cereal and drinking soda to go with it.

melonmilk 07-29-2010 11:13 PM

Welll... as a dare, my sister and I had turkish delight (I lived in Cyprus, that stuff was pretty much everywhere) and branston pickle together. I know that's not what you mean, but it was the single most disgusting thing I've ever had in my life. :(
I've had tuna mayo, cheese, green onion, branston pickle and ketchup (plus any spice and herb I can get my hands on) toasties before that were amazing. If I can find any corned beef/chicken and sweetcorn to go on, what the hey? :D Also I put umeboshi, (only one, ew) sesame seeds, and an egg in my noodles once too, haha. ><

And by the way, ice cream with cinnamon and nutmeg dusted over in incredible! My mom once melted all these toffee sweets we had lying around, and stuck popcorn together into balls with them, and that was amazing too.

mini waterbender 07-30-2010 11:12 PM

i eat french fries and ice cream...

`death by bunniez 07-31-2010 01:26 AM

My friend put whip cream on pizza
And my brother has lucky charms with peanut butter on bread.
macaroni and cheese with tomato sauce is also yummy.

I think Diet Coke and Mentos is an odd and lethal (not really lethal, but lethal in the sense that it can make you sick) combination, I watched a guy on youtube eat a bunch of Mentos and drink a lot of Diet Coke and the end results were not very well. He was puking his brains out..... "Oh...uhhh duhhhh,, I don't really weally feel veeelly well.." heheheh ...

Klaw 07-31-2010 04:05 AM

Doritos and warm ketchup. delicious.

Also, related: dip cheetos in applesauce.

Not horribly odd, but whenever I get icecream from this one place and have a drink with it, when I'm done wiht the icecream, I dump the rest of the drink in the cup of melted icecream. 8D Vanilla frozen custard which was mixed with dirt & worms stuff and dr. pepper is pretty good, also I've tried lemon-lime koolaid in it.. :3 It's not horribly odd because of, you know, iecream float.

ShotgunSinner 08-03-2010 02:07 PM

Well, sometimes I have ketchup sandwiches.
Or for breakfast, I'll make toast, then dip it in ketchup, my mum and dad refuse to be in the same room as me when I eat this, but at least I like it :D

Mariposa Mae 08-03-2010 04:47 PM

Peanut butter and pickle sandwiches are my favorite kind of sandwiches. :3 Is that weird enough?
I also adore french fries in chocolate milkshake, and mustard on my fries. x3
Gosh, I'm making myself hungry. D:

Shugo Hinamori Amu 08-03-2010 04:59 PM

My friend swears that ice cream and popcorn are amazing together... I haven't tried it yet, but... ^__^;;

XxTommyxX 08-04-2010 02:34 AM

I made this sandwich which had peanut butter, ham, and a sliced hard boiled egg. It was pretty good. XD

Ashleigh ^_^ 08-04-2010 05:55 PM

I love eating buttered popcorn (gotta be like butter lovers) with hot fudge sauce or chocolate of any kind. there are a few more I eat but can't remember off the top of my head.

xxdeidarasgurlxx 08-04-2010 11:42 PM

In my house I am the queen of strange food combinations XD but only because most of my family is composed of picky eaters. I like Oreos dipped in peanut butter, peanut butter and honey sandwiches with banana (i don't like jelly) Scrambled eggs and ketchup. Oh, rootbeer and orange soda mixed together kinda tastes like PEZ candy. At school I dip my french fries in chocolate pudding, along with my roll or any other bready substance. If I'm at burger king or Wendy's, I dip the french fries in icecream shakes. (OHOH! If you ever go to McDonalds and order a hot chocolate, ask them to put a squirt of hot fudge in it ^^). Um, rice and barbecue sauce, it also works well with unflavored oatmeal. erm.... I can't think of anything else at the moment.

psyrien 08-05-2010 05:24 AM

Banana and tomato sauce is oddly good. I think it was actually introduced to me by a TV show when I was a kid... Or pineapples stir fried in teriyaki sauce is also tasty.

kissthebluesky 08-05-2010 09:08 AM

My friend once tried a sandwich w/ fried egg, meat, a1 sauce, tabasco, mayo, ketchup, mustard, jalapeno. He said it was pretty good .
Lols :P
