Scribbled Lore 08-04-2010 12:22 AM

Anytime I'm on Menewsha I always have a tab open for the hangout. :)

Corporate Zombie 08-04-2010 12:28 AM

I... well, i don't do that, but I like to check in frequently!

Leerah 08-04-2010 12:28 AM

Ah~ 8'D
Well hey guys~ What's up :]

If I'm like, actively on menewsha then I just check up on the threads I'm subscribed to~

amayakumiko 08-04-2010 12:29 AM

@ scrib I always try too as well. I wish these would ding or something when they get used though. I routinely miss something and feel bad i've made someone wait for a response. >_<

Scribbled Lore 08-04-2010 12:38 AM

It would be awesome if a thread you had opened dinged when someone posted a reply! Wouldn't be so great for the threads that are really busy, though.

Leerah 08-04-2010 12:38 AM

@Amaya
I know what you mean D:

And a lot of times I'll forget for quite a while and responding to something like half an hour later seems all bleh~

Scribbled Lore 08-04-2010 12:42 AM

I try to keep in mind that this is a forum and no one here expects a speedy reply. :XD

Corporate Zombie 08-04-2010 12:42 AM

THat would certainly make me feel better if I could just make myself believe it. XD

Leerah 08-04-2010 12:44 AM

Haha, considering how dead the forums can be sometimes I guess so~ x]

Scribbled Lore 08-04-2010 12:45 AM

I found this article while browsing queer news websites - what does everyone here think of it?

----------

CZ and I will be back in 10-20 minutes.

amayakumiko 08-04-2010 12:53 AM

The first comment on that page says exactly what I was going to, but more eloquently and with out the rage i was going to put into it.

RikkuFukaimori 08-04-2010 01:09 AM

I'm not sure what to put in the poll. I'm not a tranny, but I plan to be some day, I'm bisexual now, but after tranny surgery I plan to be gay, and besides that I'm not exactly bisexual right now, I'm attracted to people who are my type. I don't remember the word for that right now... um... yeah... sooo...

Anyways I'm Rikku, new devotee of the site, looking for people to talk to, 'cause I'm lonely ;.;

Scribbled Lore 08-04-2010 01:24 AM

Hi there, Rikku! Welcome to Menewsha and to the thread. :)

Tell us a little more about yourself and your interests. Also, see my previous post for the article that we're discussing.

I'd be interested in hearing from an actual straight person (CZ) on their thoughts about people coming out of the closet to them.

But overall I don't think it's a huge burden, if it is one at all, and what I think a lot of straight people have problems understanding is why so many queer people must go through the process of coming out. My own coming out wasn't very happy because it was shrugged off by my family and never spoken about again.

RikkuFukaimori 08-04-2010 01:47 AM

I've never seen that article before, I went and read the blog it was about and I have to say I agree with Austin. People who consider their friends and family coming out a burden to themselves seriously need to step back and really think about if it really affects them as a person.

I stayed 'in the closet' for years. I haven't fully 'come out' to my family because they're religious. I love my family, my grandparents, my aunts, and uncles, shockingly only my close family members and a few of my non-religious cousins know that I'm not straight. All my friends know because it's one of the first things I tell them, since I don't like being perceived as something I'm not just because it's the stereotype. Luckily I'm already quirky so they just go 'oh really? Kinda figured'. That's the great thing about not being 'normal' in the first place.

Edit: I always forget to tell my gay cousin though. I have no clue why it hasn't come up, but I'm pretty sure he's figured it out, he's a smart guy.

EDIT EDIT: Yeah I'm forgetful. Um, I came from Gaiaonline, was on the site since 2005, got banned for something I didn't do, so I came here. I'm 17 and getting ready to go to college for Digital Animation and Design. I really like drawing, reading, and writing. I also like dancing, but I'm not very good at it (haha). I love music, and I'm always up for a yaoi roleplay. I'm a conflicted person, some of what I do doesn't coincide with what I say and think. I often change my opinions on things on a moment's notice, and I don't like to be constricted by rules and customs. My family is (for the most part) mormon, they're open minded most of the time, but sometimes they aren't and that's why I haven't officially 'come out'.

My favorite fruits are strawberries and peaches. My favorite color is forest green, I'm terrified of spiders (only the little ones, big ones are alright). I used to be afraid of the dark, but I got over it by forcing myself to sleep with no light and the door closed for a year, now I can't sleep with doors open (Closet, bathroom, bedroom), or lights on. And um... i can't think of anything else right now ._.

Boobical_Ribs 08-04-2010 02:07 AM

Hello everyone.
I feel much better.
I think.
:/

amayakumiko 08-04-2010 02:07 AM

@ rikku Wait wait wait. You dislike little spiders, but are ok with spiders the size of your head? crazy. Also i really like your outfit!

Boobical_Ribs 08-04-2010 02:08 AM

Im excited for Ceder point with Alison.
Also Friday night with her.
But im dreading my surgery

Scribbled Lore 08-04-2010 02:24 AM

Oh, why are you having surgery, Ribs? If it's not too personal to share.

Boobical_Ribs 08-04-2010 02:25 AM

I dont mind sharing it.
But you might mind after i share.
D:
I have a polynomial cyst.
Which is on my rear end.

Scribbled Lore 08-04-2010 02:34 AM

That sucks. I had a cyst on my hip that I had to have surgically removed. It sucked. A lot. I'm just thankful it wasn't in a more sensitive spot. *hugs*
