Opening her eyes, Sukie smiled at how dark and peaceful her room was. After almost two years, the school felt like home to her. It was such a beautiful building and the grounds were amazing; covered in flowers and fire flies on a warm summery night.

Before she got changed, Sukie was just a normal teenager. The same old family problems and the same olf rules and boring school routines. Her parents had broken up when she was five years old, and her best friend was her sister, who had been in a serious car accident just before Sukie got marked. Her mother and her little sister were the two things she missed the most about home and about her old life, but there were so many better things in her new life.

Sukie climbed up and got out of bed. Rubbing her eyes, she made her way over to the bathroom, where she had a quick shower and put a smidge of make-up on. Drying her hair, she thought about what the day might hold for her. Once she was clean and dry, Sukie walked over to her closet and opened the doors. She picked out a simple blouse with the traditional school crest above the heart, and chose a plain black shirt. Sukie pulled her black dolly shoes on and picked up a black cardigan and made her way out of the door.

Sukie just had time to grab some breakfast... There was so much to choose from, but this morning she settled for toast. Rushing a little, she ran out of the dorm room and across the courtyard. The beauty of the night sky never ceased to amaze her...


Sukie had been looking up while she had been running, and without realising she had tripped over a boy sitting by a tree. "Oh my GOSH, I'm so sorry!" she said, trying to get herself off the ground.

"Woah! Thank you!" she smiled. Sukie could tell the boy was upset. "I was looking at the stars" she whispered, hoping he wouldnt be mad with her. She looked up at him and smiled. There was a small leaf stuck in his hair, and slowly, she reached out and gently pulled it out. "My names Sukie!" she smiled, and threw the leaf onto the ground.

While Sukie waited for the boy to introduce himself, she rearranged the pretty bow that hung loosely from her hair. When she had done that she flicked bits of dirt from her dress.

Sukie smiled as Geoffrey watched her adjust her bow. It's nice to meet you Geoffrey!" she smiled and held out a hand for him to shake. Then she said "Nope! I was just going to Drama!" and then pulled her cardigan over her shoulders. There were grass stains on her knee caps and her white socks, but it didnt matter.

There was a faint whistling sound of the leaves being blown by the wind, but the night was still so perfect and normal, and warm. Sukie loved this school. The House of Night was literally that, her house. Sukie thought of it as home rather than school.

Sukie thought she saw a small hint of a smile come across Geoffrey's face, but it quickly vanished and she wondered if she had been seeing things. "Yeah! I love drama" Shuki said, and blushed as she noticed Geoffrey looking her up and down. She turned to face the floor.

When he told her what former he was, Sukie smiled. "I'm second. I had a feeling you were third" she said and then motioned for him to walk to Drama with her. It was obvious that Geoffrey was hiding something from her, or at least wanting to say something but not doing. He seemed very mysterious and reserved, but his eyes were dazzling and interesting. Sukie was yet to see him smile, but she had no doubt that it would be infectious.

Sukie was breathtaken when the moon shone white and pale over everything. No matter how many times she saw the night, it never got boring, or any less beautiful. Again, Sukie saw a faint hint of a smile on Geoffrey's face, and she knew she was getting closer to cracking his hard exterior.


As Geoffrey opened the door for her, Sukie blushed some more. Such a gentleman she though, and as she stepped through the door she ran her hand across his. "Thank you!" she chimed, trying to hide the fact that she had just accidently brushed his hand.

"I take riding. I love the horses! They are such magnificent creatures" Sukie smiled as they carried on walking. "What do you take? Riding or Fencing?" she asked in retaliation to his previous question.

A small giggle erupted from Sukie's mouth when Geoffrey almost blushed. It was only faint, but it was there! Even better, he was cheering up and starting to sound happier than he had done before. When Sukie and Geoffrey entered the Drama room, she noticed a girl already sitting at a desk. Sukie smiled at her, but stood talking to Geoffrey at the door to the Drama room. Class wasnt due to start for another five minutes and she thought that she would make the most of it while she could...

"I'd love to see you play sometime!" Sukie giggled and then blushed at how cheesy and lame she had just sounded. "Sorry!" she blushed and turned her face away from him so he wouldnt see her silly blushing again.

When Geoffrey didnt think she was crazy for getting so over excited, Sukie smiled and bit her lip slightly to stop herslef from nervous giggling again. "I'd love to come watch that" she said, trying to control the happiness in her voice, even though it was obvious already.

Professor Nolan came into the room and Sukie shuffled out of her way, whilst saying 'hello'. Yet again, Sukie wasnt concerntrating and shuffled a little too far into Geoffrey. She toppled over again and her face turned bright red with humiliation. "I, I'm so sorry" she mumbled again trying to compose herself for the second time that evening.

Noticing that her body was still pressed up against Geoffrey's made Sukie smile. She tried to hide it when he helped her steady herself, but she probably didnt do a very good job considering her cheeks were still burning from embarassment. When Geoffrey looked into her eyes, she smiled at him and said "I need to stop falling for you dont I" and then giggled as she realised what she had just said.

Professor Nolan interrupted her silly giggling, and saved her from an embarassed Geoffrey just on time. "Yeah, I spose we better had do" she sighed and straightened out her bow again. Sukie made her way to a seat in the far left hand corner of the room and sat there, hoping she would speak to Geoffrey again after lesson.

Sukie noticed that every once in a while, Geoffrey would glance back at her. She quietly giggled to herself every time he did so, and thought that it was amazingly cute.

Professor Nolan was talking about Othello, something Sukie had already studied twice. Once before she got marked and once since she had been marked. It was all very usual for her, and so she concerntrated on other things... Like Geoffrey.

He was so sweet, and kind and he even made her laugh, probably without noticing he was doing so. She felt happy around him, she felt calm around him and she was finding it hard to not flirt rediculously.

When Prof Nolan had done talking, she gave everyone a simple script and asked each person to get with a partner. Sukie didnt want to seem to eager to get with Geoffrey, so she stayed where she was hoping that if he wanted to be her partner for the script reading he would go to her.

Sukie looked up and saw Geoffrey standing by her desk, she smiled at him. "Yeah sure!" she tried to sound a lot less excited and happy than she actually was, but even though she was good at drama, she was not good at hiding her feelings for Geoffrey.

Celest looked upset, and Sukie felt bad that Geoffrey had chosen her, but there was clearly a reason for it. Plus, the look of hope and anticipation tha riddled across his face made Sukie's heart melt. He was so adorable.

Sukie stood and sat on her desk, holing the script that she held in her hand infront of her so that she could clearly read it. Turning to Geoffrey, she flashed him a brilliant smile of happiness. She was done trying to hide it, it was impossible anyhow.

Sukie kept taking glances up to look at Geoffrey while they were reading their scripts. It was fascinating to look at how cold and emotionless he looked, when she knew different. The face of a professional? She wondered.


When they had done, Sukie was happy to have time to talk to Geoffrey. "So, do you have a nickname?" she asked and giggled, feeling stupid at the way that that was the only question she could think to ask him.
