Hello

Roxxxy 03-24-2014 05:14 AM

I drank too much coffee. Now I'm wicked thirsty, but gag everytime I take another drink of water @[email protected]

llonka 03-24-2014 12:12 PM

Ick, I hate that when it happens!

Kirin Rosenbaum 03-24-2014 05:05 PM

I hate coffee.

llonka 03-24-2014 05:56 PM

I looove coffee! My kitchen is even coffee themed!

Suzanne Sky 03-24-2014 10:04 PM

Awww...a coffee themed kitchen would be so cool! Sadly, my kitchen is totally un-themed.

Who else has a nice kitchen theme? Or what theme would you LIKE to have in your kitchen?

I am not good at all with decorating, so I really can't think of a good theme for myself. I guess I would like a sky theme, but I don't see how I could pull that off realistically. Bats? Pumpins? Owls? Bees? Trees? Those are some motifs I really like, but some of them are not exactly do-able. And besides that, I am just lazy. LOL!

Ooooh, I know veggies with cheery little faces and legs! I would love a theme like that!

Kirin Rosenbaum 03-25-2014 02:01 AM

Coffee is gross. I'm a tea girl.

llonka 03-25-2014 12:21 PM

I think a grape theme would be really pretty too. [yes] Or cows! [lol] I can post a picture of the little bit of painting I've gotten done..

Roxxxy 03-25-2014 05:33 PM

Haha, when I lived with my aunt her kitchen was cow-themed.
I live in an apartment, so I can't do much with my tiny kitchen :/
Kirin: Black tea is good, but nothing compares to a latte [drool]

Suzanne Sky 03-25-2014 07:23 PM

Yeah, I've seen cow themed kitchens. They seem to be quite popular, and are fairly easy to make, since there are cow things readily available. My neighbor has a chicken themed kitchen. I could really go for that for myself, actually. But my kitchen is so small, that there really wouldn't be much space available for a real theme...Curtains, dish towels, and the space near the ceiling above the cabinets. Well, now that I've listed that, it sounds like plenty of room for decorating. Just no room for theme stuff on the counters, pretty much. Not long ago, I bought clear glass old-fashioned looking jars to use as canisters on the counter. Kind of a lot of them. And I am not willing to trade them out for different ones, even if I could find them in a theme I wanted.

I still like the anthropomorphic veggies theme better, but things for a chicken theme - like fabric, etc. would be so much easier to find.

I like a grape theme as well. Actually, I made grape curtains, from gorgeous fabric in shades of purple and green, for a classroom at church one time. They turned out very well, I thought.

llonka 03-25-2014 07:33 PM

Oooh I bet your curtains were very pretty! I don't have the space above my cabinets either. It's all cabinet; unless we take the doors off like we are talking about. Seriously, who uses cabinets that you have to get a freakin ladder to even reach? [lol]

Kirin Rosenbaum 03-25-2014 07:38 PM

Not a huge fan of black teas.

I've thought of taking the cabinet doors off too. I've seen that look in various magazines and online and really like it. But it wouldn't work for me here. This place is TINY and I have all kinds of things crammed everywhere. Open cabinets would look hideous here, unfortunately.

But in your case, open cabinets might open up some decorative space. I can soooo see that!

Yeah, that line about getting a ladder to even reach, is the reason I haven't put anything decorative on top of my cabinets. I can just see it all caked with dust and inch thick and me stacking chairs or climbing on the counter to clean up there. Ick! The person who lived here before us had decorative birdhouses and flower or greenery garlands up there. I think she had them in the living room and bathroom too. They looked nice. But I wouldn't want that much stuff around. I mean they were solid all across the cabinets.

But there is another cool theme for a kitchen - birds and birdhouses!

Kirin is a racist tea Nazi XD

I could not handle a ton of decor in our kitchen. After a while I'd forget it was there and fail to keep it clean! Don't shift much around either or everyone in the house would need a map to figure out where it was relocated.

Love coffee and I'm trying to find a local place to buy loose teas since the shop we went to closed last October. Weirdly enough, I can sleep fine after drinking coffee, but not caffeinated teas.

Roxxxy 03-26-2014 01:28 AM

I am usually still tired after drinking coffee too.

llonka 03-26-2014 04:15 PM

Birds and Birdhouses would be pretty! My stuff would probably get all dusty too. Ick.

Haha i'm the same, coffee makes me sleepy sometimes.

pumpkins 03-27-2014 12:07 AM

Hi! *sneaks into a thread*
I noticed you talked about coffee. I reaally like coffee. I can also tell you that falling asleep is the easiest just after consuming a caffeinated drink. (Weird I know but I remember reading that in a source I trusted) And if you do that just before a nap you wake up happily energized (at least it works on me), which is nice, because after a nap I tend to be very sleepy.

llonka 03-27-2014 12:52 PM

I get real grumpy after taking a nap so I try not to. xP

Kirin will be happy to know, I am currently drinking GREEN tea. Mango saffron [drool] But before I head off to class I will be making black chai to go :D
I had actually heard that about caffeine and naps, too!

Roxxxy 04-09-2014 07:33 PM

I miss you more each day, sweet girl [heart]

I feel like my life is falling apart. I don't have a job, I'm struggling with this last semester, my grandpa is in the hospital, my aunt went into rehab, my boyfriend moved out last week, and my kitty/bff of 20 yrs was put down 6 days ago. [cry]
