Go Australia~! -dances-
-notices topic of the day- Blarg, the election ads are getting so annoying, every ad break over 90% of the ads seem to be for the election >.<

wrylilt 08-09-2010 09:59 PM

Yes I can agree there Zeapear - and none of the adverts seem to be saying "This is what we're going to do for you." Instead it's "This is why you shouldn't vote for the other person". It's like we're trying to decide who's not the worst to vote for, instead of who's best. I say - vote in the greens. :P

lucky angel 08-09-2010 10:37 PM

I used to live in Australia when I was 5 until I was 15. But I live in Texas now. Can I still post?

wrylilt 08-09-2010 10:51 PM

Hmmm we'll count you as an Australian... coz well you've obviously had a taste of the Australian awesomeness. LoL :D

Do you know what a drop bear is? :P

wrylilt 08-10-2010 08:20 AM

So what's everyone up to tonight? I'm being very Aussie and eating Lamingtons!

zeapear 08-10-2010 08:49 AM

I was just having dinner :3

At you post about the election; I'm too young to vote so I haven't been paying much attention but I agree with you there, everyone's just picking on everyone else

wrylilt 08-10-2010 08:57 AM

I wish voting wasn't compulsory. I mean this election is completely ridiculous - after Labor getting rid of Rudd like that... LOL

zeapear 08-10-2010 09:04 AM

I don't know much about politics, at least I don't know enough to be a good judge of these things, but I thought Kevin Rudd was nice :D

Ling 08-13-2010 12:06 PM

Hrm...the upcoming election eh? Well...I get the feeling that the major political parties are trying to tell us why NOT to vote for the other party rather than why we should vote for them. Of course there's more to it than that but that's all I'll say on the topic.

I'm amused that drop bears are mentioned on the first post...because I didn't know what drop bears were until later in my life. And considering I've lived here my whole life I'd imagine a lot of Australians, especially those who immigrated here would actually not be aware of them either.

wrylilt 08-14-2010 09:41 AM

I had a drop bear in my backyard, I thought it was all the norm. Mmmm I <3 Lamingtons.

Tegan_StarFire 08-15-2010 01:15 AM

Falls into the hangout

awesomeness more fellow Aussies keep popping up lol.

Hiya everyone:)

zeapear 08-15-2010 01:42 AM

Best Australian food? Hm, I love pavlova and lamingtons...
I never really like Vegemite /shot

Ling 08-15-2010 03:55 AM

I like pavlova too! Delicious!

wrylilt 08-22-2010 03:20 AM

Oooo the last week has been so busy have barely had a chance to get online. My mother in law came to stay and I got asked to work a second job for a few weeks. Fun fun fun!

zeapear 08-22-2010 05:17 AM

/is not sure if Wry is being sarcastic

[topic of the day] I don't really have a favourite Australian celebrity, but my friend ADORES Sam Worthington >w>

Ling 08-22-2010 05:39 AM

I can't really think of any Australian celebrities I'm very fond of, because usually, I don't really care who they are but what they do. In saying that, I'd mention Jessica Mauboy, because I like most of her original songs and she seems like a more likable person in general.
