"Everyone!" Kiara called over the radio. "Those not in combat right now ensure that the Japanese people are rounded up! Get them to safe houses and take the injured to a separate area to receive treatment. Don't any of you dare leave any bodies behind! Is that understood?"
They hadn't received any new orders from Lelouch yet so she took the liberty of taking comand for now. She looked around but with the death of Euphemia and the dissappearance of the lancelot it appeared that the brittanian forces were beginning to back away seeing the overwhelming numbers of Black Knights taht had swarmed into the area. She grit ehr teeth and shot her slash harkens through the cocpit of a charging Knightmare and closed her eyes as it crumpled before her.
"Come on," she said to Raina. "We'd better find him and C.C."

They didn't have to wait long. The shining black Shinkirou (Rakshata had renamed the Gawain due to all of the adjustements she'd made) descended from the sky in front of them.
"Where's Euphie?" Lelouch's voice said over the radio.
"I took care of her," said Raina. "'Zaku managed to get him to the Avalon, but I got in a good hit. She's not gonna make it."

(Ah, I just wasn't sure when it'd been renamed that's all)

There was silence for a long while on Lelouch's end of the radio channel after Raina's report.
"Lelouch?" Kiara asked carefully. "What happened?"
"I'll tell you back at base, later," Lelouch muttered. "Did you keep control?"
"Mostly," Kiara replied.

"I'ma go help some peoples," said Raina. "You guys carry on a' fighting."

"Will do," Kiara replied. She raised her Knightmare's arm and waved at Raina before turning back to Lelouch's Knightmare.
"The brittanians are beginning to retreat," she told him. "It won't be long before we have the upper hand here but I'm expecting reinforcements quite soon."
"Agreed," Lelouch said. "I will give the order to retreat soon once we are finished here."
"That shouldn't be too long," Kiara commented as she saw another two Knightmares go down. "Is C.C. there with you?"
"Yes," Lelouch replied. "Suzaku saw her earlier, she believes taht it is the result of the indirect contact that she shared with him during Narita."
"Well damn," Kiara muttered before an explosion caught her attention and she saw one of their Knightmares go down.
"Shit!" she cursed and made her way quickly over to the Knightmare that had caused the damage and began to fight with her guns blazing.

Raina and a few others started helping the fleeing Japanese and the wounded. Raina started co-ordinating everyone so that it was organised, and once they were pretty sure they'd gotten all of the people who were still alive out, they began to move onto the dead.

Kiara closed her eyes as she watched the dead bodies of men, women and children being loaded up. She felt sick as she saw a small child riddled with bullets.
'This should't have happened,' she thought bitterly. But it did happen and there wasn't anything she could do to change that right now. She pitched in and soon all the bodies that they were able to retreive were loaded up and they were ready to go.
"Move out everyone," Lelouch's voice came over the radio. Kiara's head nodded and she comanded her Knightmare to move forwards along with the others.

"OK, Lulu," said Raina over the radio. "I'll ask nicely. What. The. Freaking. Hell. Happened?"

"I'll explain when we get back to the headquarters," Lelouch muttered, her sounded tired and drawn. "It'll take a bit of explanations and let's just say it's a good thing that my geass doesn't work on you anymore."
"What's that suposed to mean?" Kiara demanded hotly.
"You'll find out..."
Kiara was more eager than before to return to base, she REALLY wanted to know what was going on now!

*doesn't Lelouch announce his new nation to the people after this on the wrecked area where the SAZ thingy was going to be, because all of the Japanese people have abandoned Euphie and turned to him for help so he's making the most of the situation?*

(I think he does actually...You've watched this more than I have so I'll go with that but now that you mention it I think that is what happens...)

Before leaving Lelouch turned and Kiara and Raina were now behind him and behind them were the other black Knights. The cocpit of his Knightmare opened and Lelouch stood there in his full Zero garb. People were staring up at him, both Brittanians and Japanese alike as he began to speak. Some cameras were still filming unbelievably and Lelouch took advantage of this.

"Citizens of Japan," announced Lelouch importantly. "Euphemia betrayed us!!!"
The crowd began to yell, cursing Euphemia's name and waving their arms angrily.
"This whole thing was a trick by Brittannia, pretending to have our best interests in mind so that they could lure us into this trap."
It was the most animated crowd Raina had ever seen. Zero continued with his speech, while the Japanese people cheered him and chanted his name. He announced that he would be creating his own nation, the United States of Japan. Raina noticed that Diethard was filming it all. She smirked. Although many people had died, no one trusted Brittannia or the Princess any more. Suzaku would lose support as well. Everyone put etheir hopes in Zero and the Black Knights.

The cheering of Zero's name continued until finally the black knights receeded, heading back to their own headquarters. Everyone was animated but there was a somber mood as they thought about all the lost lives that had happened during the masacre of the SAZ.
As soon as Lelouch/Zero exited his Knightmare Kiara was by his side, even before Kallen which was surprising.
"Come on," she growled at him. "You've got some explaining to do and I doubt that Raina will lasxt long before she uses her Geass to get you outta this room so we can talk."

"First I have to deal with Kyoto," said Lelouch. With C.C., Kallen, Kiara, and Raina surrounding him, he faced the Kyoto spokesman, Kirihara Taizou, along with a few other boring-looking people and a little black-haired, green-eyed girl wearing a gold circlet.
"Zero, I trust you will continue to follow us?" said Kirihara.
"No," said Lleouch abruptly. "From now on the houses of Kyoto will follow me."
The girl didn't seem to care. "So nice to finally meet you!!!" she trilled. "I'm Sumeragi Kaguya!!!"

Kiara's eyebrows twitched at the sight of the little girl. She glanced over at Raina but didn't say anything for the moment. Kirihara stared intently at Lelouch/Zero for a long moment.

(Can't remember his reaction to that. I think he agrees but I can't for the life of me remember how ot goes!)

"Very well," said Kirihara. Raina smirked as she could tell he didn't liek it one bit.
"A pleasure to meet you, Sumeragi Kaguya," said Lelouch politely before turning to leave. C.C., Kallen, and Raina began to follow him.

Kiara followed the rest of them out, the last one to exit the room. Her eyes stared after the people from Kyoto as the door closed. Kallen was ordered to go and have a rest and she agreed, slightly reluctnatly, and walked away to begin to take off her flight suit and calm down from the fight.
"You're got dodging this again," Kiara growled at Lelouch. "We want an explanation and we intend to get it so you'd better start talking."
"Not here," Lelouch stated.
"Fine," Kiara muttered. "But when we get there you are NOT getting out of explaining!"

Lelouch led them to his private room, and C.C. closed the door behind them.
"I'm surprised you'd go this far," said C.C.
"I didn't use my geass on her... or at least, I didn't mean to," said Lelouch, removng his mask. Raina saw that his eye was glowing. He flinched away from everyone's gaze, refusing to meet anyone's eyes.
"The geass doesn't work on me or Kiara," C.C. reminded him.

Kiara marched up to Lelouch and grabbede his chin and moved his head so she could look at the Geass eye. It was glowing and the symbol was clearly visible.
"How did this happen?" she demanded. She released him and took a few steps back. Lelouch refused to meet her eye again but she thought it was probably for a different reason.
"When I was in the back...with Euphemia...it happened. I was explaining about my geass...how I could make someone do anything I wanted. I could make someone kill themselves, kill their comrads. Then, I told her...I told her taht I could order her to kill all the Japanese and taht's when it happened...My Geass went out of control and it, she was looking right at me when it happened..."
He trailed off, his eyes downcast.

(We may not like Euphemia but she WAS still his sister so obviously it's gunna eat at him until we can knock some sense into him. Plus he knows that his best friend is close to her)

"So you're like Mao? You can't turn your Geass off?" asked Raina.
Lelouch nodded shakily. He clutched his head. "Euphie..."
Raina pouted. "No fair! How come all of a sudden his geass is so much stronger?!"

"It's probably because he's been using it more," Kiara suggested. "I mean, sure I've been using my geass but not nearly as much as he has! Seriously, there aren't too many places were I can safely release some fire and half the time when I can I'm not close enough to anything for it to work!"
"You're geass will evlove just as Lelouch's has," C.C. said. "It may just take more time."

Raina stamped her foot. "I'm going to go train my geass and then I'll be more powerful than you!" Shr smirked and starting making Kiara's hair stand on end.

"Oh boy..." Kiara muttered as she tried to get her hair to go down. "Here's a better idea! You can toss Lelouch around for a bit! He's pretty light and you can practice keeping it up for longer!"
"Do I get a say in this?" Lelouch demanded, his eyes widening at the idea.
"No!" Kiara replied hotly.

Raina turned her gaze away from Kiara's hair and focused on Lelouch. Her eye glowed. At first nothing happened, but then, slowly, Lelouch began to lift in the air. C.C. watched with amusement as Lelouch gasped in shock and indignity as he was raised a full foot off the ground.

Kiara sighed in relief as Raina's attention was moved from her and she smirked as she saw Lelouch hovering in the air.
"Time for some fun," she muttered, an evil gleam appearing in her eyes.
"Try and make him do some tricks!" she encouraged Raina.
"When I get down from here..." Lelouch muttered darkly, glaring daggers at Kiara.
"It was either you or me," Kiara stated simply.
