Shopping
I'm getting prepared to go shopping in the city tomorrow (yes I have to prepare a day in advance). I know that I'm probably going to blow most of money on clothes that I don't need. But I just like the temporary high that shopping gives you and I like it when you go home and you have brand new clothes to try on and stuff.
So when you go shopping what do you usually buy? How much do you usually spend? And do you like shopping? |
I honestly hate shopping unless it's for food. I love food. I don't buy clothes often because I find fashion today to be really ugly. Craft supplies shopping I don't mind though because I always need something for some project I have going on.

I love going shopping unless it with my mom at hobby lobby she take forever in there. but then again I really dislike going shopping with my step dad the most. if we go to walmart he take more then 2 hours to just to look for a jacket. things I like to buy is Anime dvds,Manga, books,Video Games and clothes. I'm not sure how much money I would spend since someone has to take care of my bank account for me.

I don't really go shopping. I go "shopping"--basically, I wander around the mall with my friends without buying anything. >.> I just can't afford anything right now. Not when I'm paying for gas and have to think about paying off these loans in a few years. :gonk:

Shopping for me is running around the mall looking at the clearance items, lol. But I'm weird. If I've only picked out one or two items then I won't buy them. I need to have a whole bunch of things. But I never really go out to shop because I tell myself that I won't buy clothes until I lose weight, but I'm not overweight so I don't feel compelled to diet. XD
@HappyStarr: There are lots of cool clothes at thrift stores! I love shopping there because not only is everything cheap, but you're also helping out and recycling. |
I've tried shopping at thrift stores, but they never have anything for me. It's all either too small or too large. The rest usually have holes in them. It's alright, though. I'm picky enough about my clothes that it isn't such a huge deal anyway. I only buy it myself if I know for a fact that I'll wear it more than once. I just don't exactly have the luxury of being able to go out shopping with friends whenever I feel like.

I have the same problem with thrift stores. I love them when I was moving and needed small things like silverware and dishes. Clothes never fit me right to begin with. I have huge hips and a tiny frame so everything that should fit me doesn't. I just hate clothes shopping.
|
Augh! I hate it when stores only make clothes for girls with no hips and no bust! I can't tell you how many times I've gotten stuck in "large" shirts and dresses. I feel your pain. :(

Clothes shopping is okay as long as its for tops and accsessories or leggins =D now if it were book i could spend all day in my local book store,i go in and im wanting to buy like 100 books xD Jeans are not too good as they just dont look right and my hips are just so small so it looks all strange D:
|
I love shopping with my friends. It's no fun alone or with my parents >_<
We usually go into a random shop, grab a whole load of stuff and go try it all on in the fitting rooms, even if we're not considering to buy any of it at all. But I do end up spending all of my money when I go. |
I hate shopping for anything but shoes and video games.
I adore shopping for shoes, I could shop for shoes for hours. I buy those annoying, brightly coloured ladies shoes no one else wants because they don't go with anything. But, if they don't go with anything, they go with -everything-. 8D Video games...pretty self-explanatory. |
Since I'm in a different country...I've been shopping for things I normally wouldn't buy.
I've been buying a lot of books, magazines, and manhwa. I usually never spend more than $20 a month on them. I also splurge on souvenirs and gifts for my friends and family. I love sending packages back to the States and seeing how excited they get to see the things I got for them. xD The only other thing I shop for is food. I'm mixed about shopping for food. xD As much as I love eating, it's torture to see things I want to eat but can't! *must eat healthy* ^^;; I'm really cheap, so I live on a strict budget. I refuse to spend more than a certain amount every month. So if I spend too much on gifts, I don't go do anything recreational or eat out that much, if at all. The only things I really dislike shopping for is clothes and shoes. I really hate trying them on, taking them off, trying on other things, and so on. It frustrates me when I see something really cute, but because I have no figure and I'm so small and scrawny they don't look good. >_>;; |

I hate shopping when it's not something I really like or enjoy.
Like, I enjoy clothes shopping when it's just for fun. I don't, however, enjoy forced shopping like groceries or things I get dragged along to do. With clothes shopping, i'm in control and it's enjoyable for me if I have money. Only problem I have is that i'm 4'8-5'0, small bust, long legs so I don't really find much that fits me in my age range. Generally stuff in my age range that my friends wear goes down a few inches above my knees so I practically live off hand-me-downs fro my friends that are stylish they've outgrown. XP As for art and crafts, I love it more. I get to be creative and plan out what i'm doing and such. |
That's the problem with retail. Everyone is shaped differently, but these stores make women feel ugly if they're not stick skinny and unnaturally proportionate.
|
I actually like shopping.
I don't buy anything that often, though. I think most clothes are kind of ugly nowadays, and everything looks basically the same. I very rarely find the kinds of clothes I like, but I enjoy searching for them anyway. I guess it makes it more exciting when I actually do find something? I also like shopping for books, if that counts. |
Shopping is fine, I don't mind it much. Though I prefer not to go clothes shopping with my mom. It's so fucking horrible, and she always finds a way to embarrass me. |
OMG. I just totally made a new thread about shopping! I'd been thinking of posting on this subject since last night, but didn't think to check to see if there was already a thread on it. I think mine is different enough to stick around?
Anyway, most of my shopping these days is grocery shopping. I also do a bit of shopping at Goodwill- we have some amazing Goodwills around here and I LOVE going there. Sometimes for clothes, and I also look for any retro video games, designer purses and shoes, and other stuff to eBay. I've also been doing some arts and crafts shopping. Yesterday I got some memory glass: http://t0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:A...gh__3W_DXmDo8= (although I didn't think to get little frames for it). (And I didn't make that- just showing you what it is because I didn't know the name for it until I saw it!) I also got some almost-neon acrylic paint and an exacto knife that I am LOVING. Oh, and some sequins in pretty colors! Ohhhh yeah, and books! I used to have a terribly bad habit of buying a bunch of books that I never end up reading, but I've really improved on this habit. I now only get one book when my boyfriend takes me to the bookstore. Yesterday I got a book on making collages and also a 3-pack of the smaller moleskin notebooks to hopefully come up with a way to decorate them (and sell them??). (Yeah, I'm always looking for ways to make money from home!) @Mystic- What craft projects do you have going on now? |
