Mesa sighed softly and hopped down out of Tomoya's lap. "You mind if I go to my room now?" she asked softly not wanting to see the newspaper anymore... She just wanted to hide in her room for a while... Like it would make a difference...
Tomoya blinked and looked at her. Silently, he nodded. "Do what you want." He told her, as long as she didn't make a mess or go outside, he was fine with whatever she did. Well, if she didn't get hurt by it....
Mesa nodded then gave her brother a hug before walking up the steps to her room. Once in her room she shifted to her fox form and climbed into her closet where she had a small cubbyhole that she used to hide in... though what she didn't know was that Tomoya may not have remembered it or if he had he probably wouldn't think she would be in there... she hadn't hid in there for a long time...
It was dinner time and Tomoya went to Mesa's room to get her. Except. She wasn't there. He blinked and began to run around the house panicking. He checked everywhere, well everywhere but the cubbyhole. He'd forgotten all about it, though he'd gone there many times with Mesa, just when he was very small. He hadn't gone in many years. His heart pounded in his chest. "MESA!"
When Mesa heard her brothers panicked cry she sat straight up... That wasn't such a good idea. She whined softly after hitting her head though jumped out of the hole and ran to where her brother was quickly turning to human form right in front of him. "Toma I'm okay I was just in my room in that cubbyhole in my closet..." she said softly then wrapped her arms around him and felt and heard his thumping heart.
Tomoya was so relieved when he saw her. He held her close, shaking lightly. He kissed her head, and stroked her here and there. He was so glad she was okay and here and alive. He didn't know what he'd do without her. HE had totally forgotten about the cubbyhole and felt like an idiot for not remembering it. "Dinner?"
"SURE!" Mesa smiled right away though was still hugging Tomoya not wanting to let go. She felt awful knowing that she had scared him so bad and that she hadn't heard him sooner. "I'm sorry Toma..." she said softly looking up at her big brother softly.
Tomoya nodded. He figured He'd just heat up some different stuff people brought over. So he hoped that the food was made good. Most people in the neighborhood knew how to cook, so he didn't worry all that much about it. He just nodded to the sorry that Mesa had said and picked her up, carrying her to the kitchen, he didn't want to let go.
Mesa put her arms around Tomoya's neck lovingly and looked up at him not wishing him t put her down either. She didn't seem to be so depressed arourd her brother though mostly she was depressed and just wanted to stay in her room most of the time.
Tomoya made sure he had her out and about. He'd be a bad brother if he let her just stay enclosed in her room depressed all the time. And if Tomoya was anything bad, he was anything bad but a big brother. He held her close and took out some food, which he had to put her down to heat it properly.
Mesa whined slightly when she was put down though just walked over to Tomoya's chair so if he wanted to sit down he'd have to pick her up first... She had gotten very good in thinking like that...
Tomoya soon set the plates and brought them to the table. With a smirk he picked her up and sat down, placing her in his lap. With a little manuevering it wasn't hard to eat like that.
Mesa giggled lightly as she was picked up and started eating happily. She seemed so much happier around her brother while when she wasn't she was rather depressed and sad. She smiled up at Tomoya and munched happily on her food. When she was with him it seemed like she was destracted and pulled away from her gloomy mood so she could be happy with her brother.
Tomoya worried a little about Mesa's behavior lately, but he assumed one day she'd return back to normal. For now, he didn't mind at all. He enjoyed her company, a rare thing. He happily with a smile on his face. A week passed, and Tomoya found an apartment and was beginning to go through all the hard work to get it. A couple of weeks later he finally got the apartment and it was time to pack up.
Mesa whined and cried when they had to pack... she didn't want to move... She loved their home... It was one of the few things they had left to the two... Other then some julary their mother had left to Mesa. "I don't wanna leave Toma!" she cried softly looking up at her brother tears threatening to fall. She had grown so close to him and her mood had seemed to inprove some... Though not too much...
Tomoya was currently packing things from his parents. Most of it was already in storage but there was others things he had wanted close. He sighed and looked at Mesa. He picked her up and tried to soothe her with calming words. What else could he do? He was already trying to fight off tears of his own.
Mesa whimpered softly but after a few moments stopped crying. "I'm sorry Toma I always do that... I shouldn't you're hurting too..." she whimpered softly not liking to act like this while she knew he was hurting too... But she didn't know how to comfurt him...
Tomoya didn't say a word, just kissed her forehead and put her down. "Pack." And then he began to finish up packing his parents stuff before moving to his stuff. This would be one long day, for sure.
Mesa nodded and went around the house finding all of her stuff and packing it... Which took a while to do... Though she got it done eventually and was soon sitting on the still not moved coach with her legs pulled to her chest and her arms around them just staring off.
Tomoya had much more packing he needed to do than she did. Because he had to do his parents and his and then around the house. Any food they couldn't bring over he threw away, which was minimal and left them still with a ton of food. Finally the packing was done and he called a movers truck.
(could you go a bit farther? Maybe have him come in and see Mesa?)
Tomoya was making sure everything was going as planned when he saw Mesa on the couch. He plopped down next to her. "What's wrong Mesa?" He asked softly, though he knew the answer.
"I want mommy and dady..." Mesa whimpered the words she hadn't said in quite some time and it hurt for her to say it now. She didn't want to move but how she saw it was, as long as she was with Tomoya she would be okay... And it was true.
Tomoya nodded and held her close. "I know. And I don't want to move away, and I wish everything would go back to the way it was. But it won't and that's okay. Everything will get better, okay?"
Mesa nodded still snifling some. She knew as long as she was with Tomoya things would be okay and eventually get better... Even though she didn't know when. She stayed curled to her brother though knew he would soon have to put her down to finesh moving their stuff...
