Whats a good laptop for music?

I mostly use my laptop for music and movies..and I want a good laptop because this one is really low tech and spazzes whenever I try listening to music.

So what's a good affordable laptop with great music/movie qualities?

I can't afford a fancy Mac unless I sell one of my organs..or a few of them.

I was thinking of either getting a Gateway or a Sony..

I use my Acer "Aspire" for that, I'm happy because it came with windows 7 and has lotsa space for stuff.

Mine works great. What'd you do wrong? :P I'm joking of course. Maybe New Zealand Tech just isn't as up to date as wherever you're from so mine feels awesome to me.

Lol.
I'm from Texas y'all.
It's just an old used computer I bought from a starving druggie college student.

Texas! Dude, you're a freaking cowboy! Prarie dogs musta chewed the cables on your laptop!

Do you need it to be a laptop? By default, they all have kind of crappy speakers.
I thought my Dell was alright--you can design one yourself online so it'll be cheaper than the ones in stores.

A Laptop for music? Whaa? Lol. You do know all laptops have crappy little speakers right? And the louder you play music, the more you vibrate the internal hardware which makes it overheat and stuff.

Just get a laptop that has a lot of memory (for the songs)... probably more than 320gb, and a set of external speakers.

As for movies... errrm, well... laptop screens weren't really meant for movie viewing honestly. The viewing angles are VERY limited. You won't really be able to watch something clearly unless you're sitting centered, and around 2-3ft away (to reduce gamma interference.)

If I were you, and just looking for a multimedia laptop, I'd go with the Samsung brand. They're stuff is super classy, and have a more "TV" kind of feel. Check them out at BestBuy.

Toshiba would probably rank second since they do have good screens and a good reputation.

(Gateways are generally multipurpose, so you most likely won't find the specs you want in one.)

Also....forget about getting a Sony! For some reason, the newer models Sony's popped out with have horrible screens. (Not to mention the enourmous amount of crapware they install.)

They use cheap materials, and after 3-4 months, they retire the models completely. Which SUCKS if you want to have a warranty. I used to love Sony, but they're jerks now. Lol. Stay away from them.

@ Oso Loco - LOL. I've never seen a Parie dog in this here town y'all hear.

@ Siri - I was thinking of doing that before...

@ Varuna - You've given me a lot to think about.

I have a Toshiba, and it seems to do pretty well for music for me. I'm really not sure exactly about this subject but hey I'm sure there are plenty of sites where they do reviews for this sort of thing. I'm sure to wager that for sure, as a lot of people are all about their music definiteyl.
