While he talked, Nin watched the Kilin look around. Something about him seemed to wilt, and that brought his own attention to the people around them. What about them would make the boy wilt? He brought his attention back, tilting his head in observation. Cute blush...
"If people ask, I'll be there, and I'll answer them," A shrug. He leaned back as if that was the easiest of all inquiries. "You wont get separated from me, I will hold you all evening. There will be dancing, food, drink...but you will not be away from me. At all." He seemed to add a bit of a glare behind that part, statement final. The look of minor disgust that crossed the kilin's face made Nin grin. He watched him eat, and at some point reached over and stole a piece of chicken, saying mentally that Var wouldn't eat it anyway. "I suppose it's a good thing you didn't get my dinner," he set the chicken in with his ravioli, starting to cut it apart almost daintily. |
Whenever Nin was answering his questions, he always said it in a way that it was an order, rather than an answer. Var nodded meekly, looking down at his food and eating more slowly. He whined whenever one of the strips of chicken was stolen, and he put one in his mouth. To his surprise, he loved the juicy texture, and it didn't taste half bad. He paused in mid chew, then looked up. "Wow, it tastes...ok. I still like the vegetables, but this is ok every once in awhile." He smiled and finished his food in no time, sitting back and rubbing his tummy. "Who has a happy belly?" he cooed, poking his not so flabby stomach. |
(I'm so sorry it took me so long, I've had college and it's been a hooker. D: )
The kelpie leaned back in his chair and went back to his ravioli, almost forgetting the other boy was there for a while. The comment made him look up, and he almost smiled as the little kilin dove back into his salad happily. Well, that makes things easier, Nin tilted his head as he watched him a while, before turning to his own plate again. He'd almost finished when Var had 'asked' that question, and he very, very slowly looked up with either a look of horror, or complete and utter confusion. Gold eyes stared at the boy-as-a-girl, blinking slowly, before he gently set down his fork. He felt suddenly off his food. "...What?" |
"You're a happy belly, aren't you." he told it before looking up, frowning at his expression. He drooped a little in his seat. "What "what"? I am talking to my stomach. He's happy to have nice human food." he explained, looking like a kicked puppy. Had he done something wrong? Not wanting to hear what he had to say to it, he excused himself and headed off to the restrooms, then paused. Which one was he supposed to go in. He fidgeted where he stood, then groaned, and sat down, tucking his legs beneath him in criss cross. He didn't have to go, he just wanted to get away a moment. (No worries, I had all ready figured as much ^^) |
(I'm still sorry. ;3; )
"..." Nin watched him go with the same, strange mix of expressions, before turning to look back at the empty seat across from him. "...Talking...to his stomach. Stomachs can't be -happy-." He ran a hand down his face. "Maker what have I gotten myself into..." A soft, heavy sigh, and he quickly finished his food. When he finished, and he'd paid the tab, he stood and wandered around the restaurant until he found Var. Instead of walking up and demanding them leave, he sat down in one of the waiting benches, and leaned back in it. He could just see him around the corner that the wall the chair rested against, and he waited. |
(Nah, nah don't be!) After receiving odd looks from many people, the Kilin decided it was time to get up. He stood and brushed out his skirt, and when he felt that he looked ok, he went back to the table, only to see a cleaning lady wiping it off. He began to panic and looked around, until he finally saw Nin and sighed out in relief. He walked over to the man on the bench and stood before him in waiting. He fiddled with his fingers in front of him, looking down. "I'm sorry." he apologized, bowing his head to him. He shouldn't have acted so odd and childish. |
Nin watched him wander around in a panic with a smile curling at his lips. That was amusing. After a while, he would be, and was, noticed, and stood as the little thing apologized. It made him laugh, a short, bark of a laugh, but a laugh. "You should be. Your stomach can not be happy."
As before, he wound his arm around Var, though this time around his hips, and lead him back out the door and onto the street. Instead of heading towards the forest, he turned left and lead them further into town. "Let me show you what's iron side. I need to buy some things anyway." (Ffff. >: ) |
Var's jaw twitched as he wanted to protest and tell him that a stomach very well could be happy, or angry. Whenever it's hungry, it'll start to hurt, telling you that it wanted food and it wanted it now. But he kept his mouth shut and nodded. "Right, sir." he said, following him out. "Where are we going, then?" he asked, looking up at him. He looked behind them towards the direction of the forest in longing, not liking the feeling he got there in Ironside. It was very uncomfortable and almost heavy. "I'm allowed to ask why, aren't I?" he asked, unsure if he was stepping over boundaries. |
"Nin," he corrected the 'sir' quite quickly. "I am Nin here, pup." He turned them down a few streets, pulling him close when someone stepped to near. "You're free to ask me whatever you like, I may not answer. But you can ask. As for where...I think either the park, docks or theater. All are lovely. The latter just...slightly more dangerous." He looked down at him, and his free hand came up to fix a strand of wayward hair.
|
Pup?He was nothing like a child canine. He was a little insulted by the small nickname, but he just nodded. "Nin..." he repeated, looking forward. "What is a park, a theater, and a dock?" he asked, looking back up at him in time to see the hand come over to his face. Var didn't want to go anywhere dangerous, but now he was curious. He looked down at his feet as they walked, and waited to hear the answer. |
It was then that he decided he quite liked when his name was said. And he both enjoyed the feeling, and hated it.
"A park is a place Ironside, where it is dedicated only to nature and her splendor. A theater, is where we go to watch movie films, and a dock...is a long stretch of wooden planks out over the water." He decided that was the best choice, and turned them yet again. Soon, the smell of the sea was upon them. "The dock is...my favorite place, Iron side." |
(OMG you're pink o.o Also this is random, but I found Ironside underneath my bed XD I borrowed it from a friend and moved, so I never got to give it back) When he spoke of the park he smiled. That's where he wanted to go. He was about to say so, whenever he was turned. Soon he could smell salt and his nose crunched. "How long are we going to visit this Dock?" he asked, wanting very badly to go where it was green and full of nature. "Can we go to the park after? Please? Nin?" Var leaned against him, looking up with his round blue eyes in pleading. |
(I am indeedle! And, awe! XD)
"If you like," he sighed softly, letting him go near the front of the dock to walk out onto it and spread his arms. If he had had no duties, no one to bind him to his river, he would dive into the ocean and never surface. It spanned out, deep, and dark, and inviting. Salt water wind rushed through his hair and he closed his eyes. The ocean, far out, was clean, and had no iron in it's waters. No fishing hooks, no aluminum cans to bump into his snout and burn it. Just free, and open and clean. "I wont be long," He dropped his arms and opened his eyes, staring out into the dark night water thoughtfully. |
(now you look like the male version of one of my character lol) Var followed him out as he stepped away, but he kept his distance behind him. Whenever he opened his arms, the kilin cocked his head to the side. He looked content where he was, almost happy. Then he told him he'd be back, and so left him alone. Again he panicked and stepped forward, but was too late. Sighing he sat down at the edge of the dock, letting his legs go over. He lifted his skirt and took off the sandals before dipping his toe in. He liked swimming in the crystal clear lakes in the Seelie lands, and he missed it suddenly. He missed his friends and his family and his queen. He missed the daylight and the laughter and the parties. He sighed and laid out on the moist wood, and closed his eyes, waiting for Nin to come back from wherever it was he left to. |
(XD I do?)
It was barely ten minutes before the blond made his way back up the dock, and sat down beside him. He was still looking out of the water, but tilted his head to catch the kilin in his peripheral vision. "..." A soft sigh, and he crossed his ankles. "You're bounce is gone, little one. What is it you mourn?" |
(Yea, but her eyes are blue, not pink ^^ and her skin is tan) Even when he returned, he stayed still with his eyes closed. But when posed a question, he slowly opened them, then let out a breath. He lifted his hand to his face and pushed his hair back before sitting up. "I miss my home...That's normal, isn't it..." he answered, looking over at him. "And stop calling me 'Pup' or 'Little'. I'm young and I have room to grow, so my size is normal to my age. And I am not a dog." He wasn't sure if it was wise to say that, but he did anyhow. |
(Awe. <: )
"I suppose," he blinked slowly, then smiled faintly to himself. He would never miss his river. "Then what would you have me call you?" A thought crossed him, and he rolled over to loom over the smaller boy. A wicked grin curled across him and he leaned to nuzzle against his neck. "You're a very attractive young lady, you know..." |
"Var, of course!" he answered in a way that said he should have figured. He gulped, though, whenever Nin shifted and drew closer. His nose curled as he gently pushed at him. "Lucky me I'm not lady." he hissed, then scooted away. "And you shouldn't forget that." Clearly uncomfortable, he tried to shed the glamour, not wanting to look like a 'lady' any longer. He didn't like the way Nin and all the humans acted when they saw him. |
Nin crawled after him nimbly, grinning like a cat. "You even look feminine as a male, ah," the glamour shivered, but Nin had set it in place and kept it there. "And I haven't mated in years, little Var...Will you test me? I like it best when I'm fought," the smile bared his teeth, sharp, resembling those he had as the stallion. "Will you fight my decisions then?"
|
Var glared softly, defiantly, at him and turned his head. If he was feminine as normal, then whenever he got to chance he'd have to change that. "I will not fight you..." He was a little frightened, but he told himself that perhaps he was just stating. It didn't mean that he planned to attempt anything with him. "But I'm not happy about how you treat me!" |
Whatever it was in that answer, satisfied him. He rolled off the boy and went to stand. "I shall never take you to dinner again, then. Come, to the park."
|
His mouth fell open at that. He rather enjoyed dinner, and he grabbed him out of instinct. "But I liked having dinner!" he exclaimed, shuffling to stand. He didn't want that part to end. What would he eat otherwise? Berries the rest of his life?! He couldn't do that. He shook his head. "I'm sorry, really." he whimpered, letting go of his hand. He looked down, tucking his fingers together in front of him and sighed. He was starting to mess things up. |
He flexed his fingers and looked down at them, then turned around to face him. The sound of the water lapping against the dock calmed him, made him soft. The silent, unreachable promise of freedom. It made him sigh. "...Fine." He leaned, brushing his lips gently across the curve of his ear. "no more fighting then."
And then he's turned away, walking without him, down the sidewalk. |
Var looked up with a smile, but then frowned and shuddered when he became too close for comfort. He gulped and nodded, then skittered after him. "Right...No fighting, promise." he whispered, putting his hand over his chest in oath. He fingered his neck, feeling his choker. He was glad that even though he was glamoured, it was still there. He caught up to Nin, though still kept a small ways behind him. He had all ready made him upset, so he didn't want to get too close or in his way. But he smiled none the less, almost skipping. He really wanted to see this "Park". |
Nin paid him little attention, side for glancing over his shoulder occasionally, and making sure he'd not been snatched or wandered off. It took them a good fifteen to walk to the park, pushing past the gates and into the sprawling grass, few trees and a few swing sets and benches. Nin shrugged, shoving his hands into his hoodie pockets. Not quite the forest.
"The park." |
