She moved on the stardust road, crimson gaze cold yet tired as she quickly made her way to the Reunion. They had gotten much to distracted over the past years. No matter how important their matters had been, they should have known better than to lose track of the years in the human world. And now they were going to pay for that neglect.... Stepping quietly into the cobblestone courtyard, Galaya quickly moved over to the gleaming pond, staring into the glass surface and watching the minuscule figures scamper below. Making a sound that was half huff, half sigh, she sat down at the end, waiting for the others to make their appearance. |
Her bare feet made no sound on the cobblestones. Her long auburn hair hung in loose curls, more wavy then anything. She absently pushed some locks back, her silver eyes peering around at her surroundings. She had stayed back to look over the human world as everyone else left to do their own thing. She had been deeply disappointed by them all. She had thought of them as friends and then they had done something so irresponsible. A faint smiled graced her features, a natural habit to distract others from knowing her true feelings. She saw a familiar figure ahead and picked up her pace. |
Looking up from the cobblestone ground when she felt a presence, her crimson eyes focused on a familiar figure through her titanium fringe. As soon as she recognized the figure, however, her gaze instantly filled with guilt before she could stop herself. She knew Lyra had stayed too watch the human world when everyone else had left, and her guilt was enough to swallow her. Taking a steading breath, she quickly composed her face before raising her head, watching as her figure grew closer. "Lyra..." |
Lyra though deeply saddened was not one to hold grudges towards her friends. "Galaya," she said back, nodding her head in acknowledgment. "Your back," she murmured as she walked over to the pool to peer in to it. Though not being part of the Zodiac she had lived with them for so long that she too was able to peer in to the human world and see the going on. She shook her head, auburn curls dancing about. She shifted the bow and quiver of arrows on her back and turned to look back at Galaya. "So?" |
Watching as she came to stand beside her, Galaya remained quiet, searching for what to say to her old friend. Too much had happened, yet...too little. It was a frustrating combination. "I don't know... They have forgotten us..." she spoke after a moment, her crimson eyes darking for a second. "We are nothing more than legends now...And though the fault is ours, I am beginning to wonder if it is possible to fix our mistakes..." Shaking her head, she looked up at her old friend, unable to hide her conflicted emotions. "Do you think it is possible for me to fix my wrongdoings?" |
"The question here is not 'is it possible', but do you have the ability to make it possible?" She leaned foreword slightly to peer at her with her eery silver eyes. "Do you," she asked softly. |
Staring back at Lyra, she felt a bit of her mask crumble like it had always done in front of her friend. "I try to believe I do..." Galaya replied after a second, rubbing her tired eyes before looking at the gateway. "It doesn't matter though. We must do something before it is to late. It is our duty, no matter how much we have ignored our charge..." |
Lyra smiled and nodded. That was the answer she had been hoping to hear. She brushed back curls from her delicate face and then walked over to sit next to her friends. "Then we will do what we must to make the stars bright again." She looked up at the night sky and the missing constellations. The only ones there were Sagittarius and Scorpio. |
Knowing what Lyra was looking at, Galaya gave a silent sigh before looking up at the sky. Her heart tightened slightly at seeing the practically bare sky. Where the bright stars of her companions had once been now lay a complete darkness. Bringing her gaze back down, she scanned the surrounding area, eyes narrowing as none came into sight. "I hope that they are alright..." |
"We will see, wont we," she said in her soft voice, still looking up at the night sky. She wasnt sure if they would all come back, but if they got most of them, then they might have a chance. A faint smile graced her features. Her mind began to wander and she thought about Chiron. Where was he? They usually never strayed too far from each other, but she hadnt seen him for a while. |
"I guess we will," Galaya replied slowly, easily realizing where Lyra's thoughts were. After all, she hadn't seen Chiron anywhere around the area. Something which would be rare even in these troubled times... In a way, she was jealous of Lyra's connection with him. She couldn't help that small twinge not matter how happy that she was for her friend. And that was just one more burden of guilt that she would force herself to bear. |
She looked over at Galaya and smiled at her in understanding. Lyra could read people very well, to the point of almost reading their mind. She knew how the other Zodiac's felt about her and Chiron. They were so close and would never be apart since neither of them grew older. |
Seeing Lyra's smile out of the corner of her eye, she flushed a very light crimson, which fortunately didn't show up much on her skin. Still she had no doubt that her friend would notice. Sighing lightly, she tucked a lock of silver hair behind her ear. "Have you...heard anything of Ganymede..." Galaya asked slowly, refusing to look at Lyra's eyes as she asked. |
"I do not know." She sighed and ran a hand through her hair. "Why," she asked, sliding her gaze over to her with a sly smile. |
Unable to conceal it, her eye twitched fractionally when she asked, her mind quickly going into a slight panic before she was able to control herself. "No reason," she said evenly after a moment, knowing that Lyra most likely could see the direction that was behind her question. "How much time has passed since we have talked to each other, old friend?" The question had come out of the blue, and Galaya herself wasn't sure about the reason she had brought it up. It seemed to be a trait that the other woman caused in her. |
I wonder if I'm the last one. That was the first thing that came to mind when he had recalled that the rest of the Zodiac were to meet today. Time had just went by when he was engrossed with taking care of some documents. Even so, he walked with a sort of calm air. Just because he was worried about it, didn't mean he was going to appear rushed. His sandals made almost no noise on the cobblestone as he reached the grounds. Dark black eyes looked around as he came to a halt the meeting grounds. He didn't see very many people, in fact... Only two. He looked surprised for a moment, and then concerned. Glancing between Galaya and Lyra, he raised an eyebrow in question. "Is the meeting over?" Surely he wasn't that late. |
Hearing footsteps, Galaya turned her head to watch as another approached, only to curse at her own luck when she recognized the figure, already picturing Lyra's reaction. Still, another part was overjoyed to see another of the zodiac. Hearing his question, however, her mood dampened somewhat. "We are the first to come," she replied after a moment, wondering where the others could be. |
Lyra held back a giggle as she saw Ganymede. "Speak of the devil," she murmured. She stood and walked over to him. "So...where have you been all this time,hm?" |
He almost sighed, running a hand through his hair, thinking. "Maybe they're just running late." he said, shrugging. He tilted his head and looked at the two, smiling a little. "Long time no see, huh?" He couldn't remember the last time they met up. At Lyra's question, he smirked. "I've just been occupied. Lost track of time." he replied. "And you two? How have you been?" |
Seeing Lyra stand an walk over to him, she sighed inwardly before fiddling with the ends of her hair, though his first sentence made her pass. "I hope so...And I have been...fine. As well as I could have been given the circumstances..." Turning slightly, she opted to stare into the pool, watching the world below. |
He gave a short nod in understanding. "I see." he said, unsure of what else to say. A brief moment of guilt passed by him. He had almost completely forgotten about the human world. He'd visited once after the others had left, but that had been a century ago. By now, he had certain that everyone had forgotten about them. And turned out he was right. They were nothing but some signs, not even thought to be people. Now they had to see what to do about this problem."I suppose we will just wait for now." he muttered. Not his favorite thing. |
"Indeed, that seems to be the only course of action..." Galaya said after a moment, still staring at the world below. How could the mortals have forgotten. Though it was true that they had been gone from the world for quite some time, that shouldn't mean that they would have disappeared completely. Yet... apparently that was exactly what it meant... Turning after a moment, she fixed her eyes on Ganymede. "What has been occupying you, may I ask?" |
Ganymede tilted his head, walking over and coming to a sit near the pond and her. He'd rather just make himself comfortable now. He looked down and raised an eyebrow. The world really had changed. Become more advanced than he had remembered. He glanced over at Galaya when he heard her voice. "Hm?" he asked, straightening up a little. It took him a moment before he shrugged. "I merely recorded some things, and did some traveling. Nothing terribly interesting." he replied, giving a light smirk. |
Thinking for a moment, she grinned lightly in response, titling her head up to look at the sky, automatically scanning the sky for constellations. They, in part, were a measurement of ones power. The brighter the starts, the heather one was. Seeing the dim sky, however, made her want to morn. "Sounds funner than you make it sound, though," she replied, still grinning despite herself. |
