"Thank you. For now let's have him enjoy the circus before we start telling him our secrets. Keep up the good work.Oh! I'll talk to him about it ok? He seems to like you." He stood and walked away. Klaus stood, brushing himself off. He walked over to the ticket booth and watched as they started to let people in. He sat on a chair, counting the people as they came in.
|
Cordelia nodded shocked by Tomas' comment about Klaus liking her, with a gentle shake of her head she told herself it wasn't true then went to find him. She was amused to see him in a chair watching the people come in not knowing he was actually counting them. With a few more minutes before she had to get ready she decided to bother him. So she walked up behind him and covered his eyes with her hands. "Still grumpy?" she teased with a little laugh.
|
"No." He said, leaning back. He looked up at her, crossing his arms. " So what were you and my uncle talking about?" He asked, brushing his hair back from his face. He watched the circus come to life. The horse he had ridden was out, dressed up and young children were allowed to sit on him.
"I'm not really sure what to do for two hours. I guess chores aren't that bad when you don't have anyone to hang out with." He muttered, resting his elbows on his knees. His chin rested on his hand. |
With a smile Cordelia removed her hands from his face to rest them on the back of the chair he was sitting on. His answer made her really happy to the point she was almost grinning. "Tis' a secret." she said giving him a wink before looking out at the circus grounds and everything that was going on. She loved all the commotion and the happy faces the kids had and she hoped Klaus would learn to love it too.
"You can go check out the performances. I'm not the only one. There are the acrobats, the swordsmen, the beast master, magician, illusionist, one of my favorites the contortionist, and the ones you call freaks. There is a lot you can do here, just need to look or in your situation act like your in the audience." she said enthusiastically thinking of everything that was apart of their circus. She would enjoy introducing him to everyone. |
"Hm...I guess I'm one of those freaks now, huh." He laughed. His laugh seemed forced like he didn't want to but did anyway. He stood, placing his hands on his hips. "He told you to talk to me?" He guessed, glancing at her. "I'm not that upset over my situation. I'm just...figure things out." He ran his hand through his hair.
|
"You have no idea." Cordelia smiled cringing a little at his laugh, didn't seem joyful or contagious like a laugh was supposed to sound. She felt a little joy in the fact that he was trying to laugh. Then Cordelia got a shocked yet slightly upset look on her face while she crossed her arms under her chest. "He did not! I'm talking to you because I want too. I can go while you figure things out..." she snapped at him turning to leave towards her tent.
|
Klaus watched her leave. Had he upset her? He was getting rather good at that. He stood and followed her. "I'm sorry if I said something." He said quickly and walked away, going into the Magician's tent. He knew he better stop complaining and get to know everyone before they thought he was rude in-law who hated everyone. It would make his life too hard and he wasn't in the mood to have everyone hate him. He sat down in the back and watched as the show started.
|
Cordelia just waved her hand in the air in acceptance of his apology. She worried though when his uncle would actually speak to him about what they discussed. Part of her felt like it would go over well. However she did notice she was starting to get agitated with young man. It wasn't like her, but hearing him complain and be upset all the time was really getting to her. She just wanted him to find some happiness out of this place. Either way she went into her tent and got ready for her performance.
The Magician was a normal person, he had no oddities about himself. He was a Magician, he did tricks that seemed like magic to the oblivious audience. The mans name was Gabriel, he was a honest man who was on the paranoid side. Had yet to accept the people like Cordelia. But his tricks were the standard things a magician did, had an assistant that would change depending on who choose to be one that day. |
Klaus stood, getting bored after watching for a while. He saw past the tricks and figured everything out. He moved outside, wondering what else he could check out. The vendor came out of no where and grabbed onto Klaus's arm. "Hey, could you take over for a bit? I have a headache." Klaus nodded and entered the box.
Within minutes to line had become long and noisy. He was glad it was a easy job and was getting rather good at doing it. Two hours passed before Klaus was able to leave. The vendor had come back. Klaus stood in the crowd, unsure where to go now. He slipped into the mermaid tent. There had to be wires or something. It was really starting to bother him. |
As the day progressed Cordelia was soon done with her show and dragged off by the acrobats. To leave Amelia watching over her stuff unwillingly. The women was more then happy to take over the mermaids break time as she helped out with the new people. So when the Uncle's nephew walked into the tent she was more then happy to have a little fun with him
Knowing the tent well Amelia stealthily got behind Klaus before purring into his ear. "What are you doing here cutey?" She chuckled a little letting her breath glide over his ear as she pressed her body into his having lots of fun. It was a habit of hers to play with people, Cordelia was her favorite because she was so small and adorable. And depending on the new guys reaction she might take a liking to him. Couldn't deny that he was a rather good looking guy. |
Klaus jumped, surprised by her touch. "What are you doing?" He asked, looking down at the girl with a confused expression. Sure girls had hit on him before and tried even worse things but she seemed different. It wasn't as flirty as it was being silly. Klaus wondered what would happen if he played along.
He wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her closer to him. "What are you up to?" He asked, grinning as if he had just found out he was going back home. But of course he wasn't. A part of him was starting to enjoy being apart of the circus, sure he didn't have the nice things he grew up with but he had a chance to make up for that in different ways. |
Amelia was enjoying the young mans reaction, a lot. Could have some fun with him. With a laugh she gently twirled a lock of his hair around on of her fingers. "What am I doing? I'm playing with the new guy who sneaked into my lovely little beauties tent and why did he?" she asked slightly thrown off at how he was playing along. Which easily brought a grin to her face, he was fun.
In a good mood she smiled as she got pulled into him, making her wonder how far she could push him. "I stole little beauty away to help with the new acrobats and I'm watching her tent." she explained with a sly smile as she pressed her chest into the lean body of his. Not worried at all if someone saw. Most would roll their eyes and go back tot what they were doing. This was typical of Amelia, untypical someone went along with it. |
"Really..." Klaus said, feeling his body heat up. She was starting to bother him, breaking into his personal space. He stroked her arm slowly. Sure girls had flirted with him before and even tried to get with him but not once had he fallen for any of them. But this girl...she was different. Something about her made his body warm and his mind wonder. Just who was she? How did she end up here?
He decided this might be a good time to start asking all the questions that ran through his mind. "How did you end up here?" He whispered into her ear, leaning over and tangling his fingers in her soft hair. Klaus knew if he could piece together her past maybe it would lead to the truth about her being a mermaid or not. |
"Seems to be working magically." Amelia had a sly smile wondering she was really getting to him. Was sad though because he wouldn't have a chance with this blond acrobat. She was in her late 20's and didn't go after younger men, now his Uncle, that was a different story all together. So she would have to end this soon seeing as he was making advances on her, adorable ones at that.
It was time she stopped this she moved to whisper into his ear. "You are too young for me Mister, I suggest you don't make advances on older women, we are no good at all." with that she slid from his hold, got behind him and gave him a gentle kick in the back. "You should not enter a performers tent when they aren't even present. Now out! You can come back in when Cordelia is present and if she allows it" Amelia was now speaking with her usual tone that made her out to be her actual age, not the flirtatious one. Had to admit she was on the rather surprised side he hadn't learned of the rules yet. She even had a stern look on her face like a mother scolding her child. |
