{{RE-doing most of this...}}
Stopping at the counts house, Violet got out of the car, Sunny in her arms and Claus in tow. The three didnt really know what to make of all of this, all they knew was that they were A) screwed B) screwed more and C) screwed beyond all natural, humanly belief. Sighing, she knocked on the door. |
Olaf raised an eyebrow at a knock at the door. He looked down at his watch and smiled. The Boudilear orphans were here just on time. He got up from his chair and walked from the parlor and to the door as he looked through the eye hole and looked at the three children to make sure it was them and no one else. He then open the door.
"Welcome, Boudilear Orphans," he said in a rather fake-nice tone as he opened the door more for them to enter. |
The two eldest looked back and forth at each other before putting on a small smile. "H-hi. I'm Violet, this is my brother Claus and my sister, Sunny." she introduced, trying to be as polite as possible when... frankly... he looked ridiculious. Holding back a laugh, she smiled brighter at him, adjusting Sunny onher hip.
"Ahh, wonderful. Please, come in, make yourself at--" He was going to say 'home' but he looked at his house and saw that it really wasn't living-comfortable. "Well...it needs work, which thankfully, you three are here to do that," he said as he showed them into the parlor which was about the most comfortable room in the house, in Olaf's opinion.
Violets' eyes widened. "E-excuse me? We'll be doing the renovations? What are we - slaves? No!" she snapped, showing him exactly who was the boss out of the three. If this man thought the eldest boy had controll, like most famlies no a days, he was dead flipping wrong. Hell. No.
Olaf rolled his eyes and closed the door behind them. "Well, I took you in when you had nowhere else to go, I'm going to provide you with a bright future, clothes, and food, and you owe me for all this," he simply said, his back to them.
Violet blinked, then blinked again. She wasnt sure what to make of that. "We... owe- GET IN THE CAR!" she shouted to Claus. The two twisted around and attempted to make it back to the car.
When the door opened, Olaf was glad to see that the driver was just leaving. he sighed and shook his head. "Do you really want to go to a poor house?" he asked them as he saw them staring at the car that was disappearing now in the foreground. "They'll give you twice as much work to do."
Violet mentally cussed and swore, rubbing her temple with her free hand, Sunny looking at her in concern. She turned toward Claus. "You take care of Sunny and dont let her out of your sight when I'm not, okay?" she told him and Claus nodded. "Okay Vi." he said softly. She turned around and smiled so sweetly - it made her sick. "Where's our room?"
Olaf smiled back in a fake tone. "Right this way," he said as he began to walk up the staircase. Then he took a right turn and then at the end of the hall was their room. He opened it to a really, really dusty but large grand room. "Here we are."
Violent - in her head - was already listing what needed to be done. Sighing, she knew it'd be a long... long week. "Dear God." she mumbled quietly and Claus mumbled something similar along those lines.
"Brooms and cleaning...tools...are downstairs in the closet in the kitchen. Feel free to do whatever you want with the room, I don't care," he said as he closed the door on them and hurried downstairs to go over his script, hopefully to have at least more than one line memorized for the show next Friday he and his crew were putting on.
Violet put Sunny down on the bed, letting the little girl just sit there. Violet looked around, taking a ribbon off of her hair and pulling her hair back with it. "Claus - go get the cleaning tools." she told softly and he nodded, going down stairs to do just that.
Olaf pushed his eyebrows together at the script. "How dare you!" he tried again, not sounding good enough. "How dare you...!" he tried yet again. That time sounded the best as possible. So he sighed and dramatically dropped to the floor out of exasperation.
Claus couldnt help but over hear that. "Ummm... Count... Olaf? May I suggest something?" he asked, motioning for the script.
Violet waited, but she began dusting lightly with a piece of cloth she found on the bed. It was an extra, but it worked. |
Olaf raised his head abruptly from the floor and glared at Claus. He was desperate for anyone's help. "What?" he asked in his usual mean voice.
He took the script. He pointed to the script, and then at Olaf. "At this - drop lightly. 'how DARE you!'" Claus said, making that part of the scene come to life.
Olaf blinked at Claus and then blinked again. He then got up and ripped the script from the boy's hands. He didn't want to admit that Claus had a point, but he had to. "Alright...you're right...let me try," he said as he sighed and let the character take over him. "How dare you!" he whined with intimacy as he slightly dropped to the floor.
Claus smiled. "There you go! You're good at acting!" he complimented, then went to the kitchen to get the supplies. He got a bunch of things, put them in a bucket, finding another bucket and putting water in it then carried both buckets and a broom and a mop under one arm. The pre-teenager was talented!
Olaf blinked at what the boy and told him. No one had ever complimented him without feeling compelled to. So, naturally, he didn't really know if Claus was being sarcastic or not. He smiled a little down at his scrip but the straightened up and went back to practicing.
For hours, the two eldest siblings worked to clean the room and set it up nicely. Hell - Violent and Claus even built a crib for Sunny out of materials they found around. With Sunny asleep - the Boudilare kids collasped on their beds, tired but satisfied with the way it turned out.
Olaf looked at the clock. They were supposed to have made supper for him already. He sighed and yelled up the stairs. "Claus! Violet, MONKEY! You're supposed to make the dinner!" he yelled and then sighed and shook his head.
Hearing that - Violent decided to respond nicely. "You said cleaning! Not cooking!" Violet shouted, still laying in bed. Sunny was asleep so Violet would use a knife if she needed to open something. Sighing, she got up. "C'mon Claus..." she grumbled.
