my friend just came over to give me a little saucer of her dinner she made (half the ingredients were from us -- that's just how we do it so a few odds and ends from each of us makes a whole meal for all of us, you know?) ... it's good and all ... she just needs to learn to use a wee bit of salt while she's cooking it ...

I don't usually cook with a lot of salt but I sometimes sprinkle it on afterward.

well, if you use salt while you are cooking you won't need near as much when it is served because it gives the salt a chance to break down and really penetrate the food.
---------- by that I mean if you use, let's say 1/4 a teaspoon while cooking you won't end up using 1/2 teaspoon when it's served. the 1/4 teaspoon while it was cooking would have flavored it enough. |
