Mike sighed and shook his head, then turned to his wife and smiled softly. "Come here little one." Max got up and ran to him, hugging his leg.
Marie looked down at her feet. "Dimmest talked to me earlier..." |
"What did he want?" Leo moved to sit next to Marie and move some of her hair to the side. "I thought it was going to stay out of our lives after what he had you do."

Marie looked at her feet still, she couldn't look at him. "Actually...I sort of talked to him first, but...by accident. I didn't think he'd answer me." She shook her head slightly. "He...just made me think. I want...him to come back...but if he does...I would go back to him and wouldn't be able to see you very much...if at all..." She looked ashamed of herself, but she knew she had to tell him.

"Marie you can not be seroius..." He looked at the water. "Are you un happy with me?...."

Marie looked like she might cry, but she knew that was unfair to do so she tried holding it in. She shook her head though. "It's not that, Leo....I promise you it isn't..."

"Then what would make you want to go back.... because its not for the barrier.... Are you arngy with me for yelling at you? I just don't understand Marie... at all I thought you love me and choose to stay by my side."

Marie broke after hearing all that, she couldn't hold it in anymore. "It's...not that I don't love you...I love you so much...that it just hurts. I can't do this...I'm sorry...even after what he did...I still love him and he loves me...and I want my child to know its father. I don't want it to have to ask me later what happened to him." She was just babbling through her tears, she couldn't look at him, her heart would break.

Leo sighed and wrapped his arms around Marie not saying a word.

Marie knew she'd ruined a moment that might have been special to Leo, maybe her as well. But, she knew it was only fair to tell him now, before he did something that would hurt him more if she did it later. Marie couldn't help but cling to him and sob into his chest. She just kept repeating the same words. "I'm sorry..."

Leo just stroke Marie hair softly. "Are you sure about this?" He simply asked.

Marie hesitated slightly, then just nodded a little into his chest. "I really am sorry....I want you to still talk to me...but I'd understand if you didn't..."

"shhhh." He just stroke her hair softly. "Then why are you saying sorry if this is what you really want then don't say it. Be confident in your choose."

Marie looked up at him after a moment, confident she could without completely falling to pieces. "I'm sorry...for wasting your time...and caring...just for me to turn around and leave."

Leo smiled to her softly. "Marie its ok.Thank you." He stroke her hair softly.

Marie looked at first shocked, then confused. "What...did I do that deserves thanks?"

He kissed her forhead softly. "For being honst with your self I knew you were unhappy but I just could not see what could keep you to smile..." There was more to it but that was a good start to tell her.

Marie just looked at him, guilt and some sadness rushing to her eyes, then she looked at her lap again. She didn't hide her feelings as well as she thought she had.

"Marie please don't cry for me.. this is what you want you want him right don't cry ok?"

Marie just sighed now, looking up at him, she still looked sad and guilty among a bunch of other emotions. "I guess I ruined it...huh?" She meant the bath or whatever he was going to do for her.

Leo laughed. "Its fine, I just want to see you smiled and I was worried you were mad at me for yelling at you."

Marie shook her head slightly. "I was never mad...just annoyed....but...I understand why you acted that way...so I'm not annoyed either anymore." She moved forward slightly and kissed his cheek. She wanted him to stay with her in here...but knew that'd be very wrong after what she just did.

"Well I am glad you understand." He smiled at her and hugged her for a little more. "So what going to happen now?"

Marie hugged him back, then sighed softly. She pulled away slightly to think for a moment. "Well, I'm going to pay you back for all the baby stuff....then I have to make sure Dimmest isn't coming back with a revenge mission or anything. Oh." She looked at him and smiled, though a loving sort of way. "I want you to be the third person to see my baby when it's born....what do you think? And be its godfather....if you want."

"I'll like but if I'm going be the godfather then your keeping all the stuff and not paying me back for it." He laughed.

Marie pouted for a moment, then sighed and gave up. "Fine...but you can't buy any more gifts for the baby. Got it?"
