I can answer so far as character design and rough personalities, at least. All of these characters are from, of course, Blazing Sword. :p I like all the Lords - Eliwood, Hector and Lyn. They've got personalities I can get behind and character designs that would be fun to draw. Sadly only Hector is particularly safe to use in a fight and not worry about getting killed in one stroke. But that's probably just due to my hating restarting the game over and over so I don't like to risk my lord units as much. I try to keep them around to "clean up the mess" (ie: run in and finish off a unit with low hit points, or if I can get them right up to an archer without worrying about stronger units coming down on them after they've killed the archer). Ninian and Nils are cute. And Ninian has a character design that's up my alley. xD (Long, lovely hair and flowy, pretty clothes, and ornaments! Love!) I really, really want to draw Leila and Matthew. I like them a lot. And at the moment, it seems like I want to slash Lucius and Raven, which is troubling me because I'd rather wait to slash them after I find out more of who the game suggests they're meant to be with. xD;;; And... yeah. Either have no real opinion of the other characters yet or I haven't met them yet. |
Oh...my lord. I'm a HUGE Fire Emblem fan. It all started when I was looking for a game to buy for my GBA when we were traveling to Florida, looking for a new home. The store clerk suggested it to me and the moment I popped it into my GBA and turned it on, it was love at first sight. It's my absolute favourite video game series of all time and that will never ever change. Strategy games are one of my main fortes and let me tell you, this is one of the best strategy games I've ever played.
Unfortunately, I haven't played many games. I've only played the games on the GBA- Sacred Stones and...I think it's called Blazing Sword(the one with Eliwood.) And I've played Path of Radiance, I have Radiant Dawn, but I don't have a wii yet. Also, I've played the game with Marth. : 3 Blazing Sword will always be my favourite. To me, it's the best one out of all of them. At the moment, I'm waiting to play Radiant Dawn, but other than that I'm just re-playing the ones I have already played. Lulz. >> My favourite character....oh god, I don't even know. My favourite lord is Eliwood. Always. Eliwood is such a gentleman, I love characters like him..and like Marth. "Goody-goodies?" xD I remember I always cry whenever Eliwood cries because it moves me the way that he so openly shows his feelings. And he's so noble, so honourable- I admire him so much. I love Lucius and Raven so much. I lol'd because Raven's support with Wil is actually like..alot of conversations that I end up having with a friend. And my name's Raven, and I'm like him..alot...c.c..so it works. Except that I'm a woman. D: I hate yaoi, but...um...>>...It's alittle obvious they've got something going on. Which means, Priscilla just might kill Lucius since she's got a sibling complex times 10. Other characters I love include: King Tibarn(He's another honourable character, and he's oh-so-handsome), Soren, Glen from Sacred Stones, Gerik, Cormag, Vaida, Heath, Reyson, Lyndis(She's like..a goddess when she becomes a Blade Lord.) My two favourite classes are Wyvern Riders/Lords and any unit that uses magic. I love magic. And I love wyverns. <3 I love everyone more or less. Except Valter. He can burn. c.c |
Yes. There's something that seems to set Fire Emblem apart from most other strategy games. Playing Final Fantasy Tactics Advance for GBA is what got me looking at other tactics/strategy type games. I like Fire Emblem the most right now out of all the different strategy/tactics series there are out there. :3
Yeah, Blazing Sword is the one I'm playing right now. xD The one that's just called "Fire Emblem" for the English GBA release. xD So I'm looking forward to playing the sequel (Sacred Stones). :o I'm glad that someone who's played further in the games pretty much agrees that Lucius/Raven is pretty much standard ship. xD Ha ha. |
I'm playing Final Fantasy Tactics at the moment. It's alittle confusing, but it's fun. Fire Emblem remains my favourite game, though.
I love that game, Blazing Sword. Sacred Stones is SO much easier than that game. Lulz. But the story is fun and you have alot more options for certain things. Lol It's obvious. xD Atleast to me. Just like Eliwood x Ninian. D: |
That's good. xD I'd prefer a slightly easier game. Some levels in Blazing Swords I've played 10 times. D:< (Others I breeze through, thankfully. But I refuse to lose a single unit, so if I make a mistake and one of them dies, I have to restart. :P)
Eliwood x Ninian is really pretty. xD I'm really not sure who else I pair up. But when I saw some fanart of Hector x Lyn I thought that was cute. But I also thought Hector x Florina was cute. D: And Lyn x Rath was also cute. >_< I don't know the characters really well enough to make a proper judge of it yet. |
I'm the same way when I play through any Fire Emblem game the first time. I hate losing any units.
In some of the games, however, you can only get certain unlockable characters by letting a set number of units be defeated. That's why I usually do multiple plays through. |
Uaah. Of course I'd be the one who would scowl at their character portraits to figure out which units I wanted more the first time around. >_<
I read on some site that there's a Fire Emblem game that lets you pair up characters romantically so they have a child. So depending on which units/characters you pair together it determines what child they have. *3* I want to play. |
I haven't heard of that before...that would be pretty cool, though.
|
I also refuse to lose a single unit...unless it's someone I absolutely hate. Then I'll intentionally put them way out in the open and use them as bait. =/ Like Louise. Lol. That was funny. She actually lasted a while before she died.
I like Lyn x Hector...just because they balance themselves out so well. You can pair Lyn with Eliwood too, but I don't like it because...Lyn seems...too strong spirited for someone as calm as Eliwood. Also, I think Florina's a lesbian with a serious mad crush on Lyn. D: I know in Sacred Stones, if you do it right, there's a unit that you can have him learn all forms of magic. But it's really tricky to do. And I know what you mean. Blazing Sword is really difficult, but I love it. xD In Sacred Stones, you have to worry less about your inventory because you pretty much get an armory/shop traveling around with you and you get alot of gems and gold. Plus they have special places made just so you can level up outside of the colliseum. |
Fire Emblem is amongst my top, top, top, TOP favorite game series. If I chose a single favorite series, it would probably be FE, but alas, I don't do that. :P
I've played Blazing Sword, Sacred Stones, Path of Radiance, Radiant Dawn, and like... five minutes of Shadow Dragon. XD To be honest, I haven't completely finished any of the games. Complete failure, right? My reason is that I have a very small time window for me to start and finish a game. If something comes between me playing that game that pushes it out of the time window, I have to restart it otherwise I'll lose interest. I haven't been able to beat many games because of this. e__e; Anyway, my favorite out of the ones I've played is Blazing Sword, hands down, though I also thoroughly enjoyed Path of Radiance. Favorite characters.... I don't think I can even start on this one. There are really just TOO many lovable characters, I think I'd be listing them for hours. >__>; I haven't played in forever but off of the top of my head, a few of my favorites are Lucius, Lute, Lethe (lol, L's), Ilyana, Sothe, Tormod, Ike, Eliwood, Erk, Volke, Jafar, Shinon, Sain, Matthew, Canas, Pent, Louise, and Athos. XD I know that there are far, FAR more characters I love but... yeah. Favorite classes are all of them. XD Mages, monks, archers, thiefs, and knights. <-- Just talkin' basic classes. Quote:

I think I played Blazing Swords as well, I bought it for the GBA a few years ago. But I didn't like it. >.> I'm not to good at BTS, and I kept on losing my favourite characters. I didn't like that when they died, you lost them forever.
|
I'm really bad at real-time battling. xD So I think that means we balance out the universe of gaming somehow, Rando. xD
I hate having to replay a level just to make sure a character doesn't die, but I can accept that it's a part of the series. For the most part, the plotlines are about wars and being hunted to the death, so it fits with the series that if a character dies, that's it for them after the tutorial. |
I dunno....I always get the "OMGSAVEMELYN" VIBE. Lol. I seriously think she's a lesbian. After seeing the entire support conversation.....=/...
Omg, Lute is funny! She makes me rofl. >< Ike is probably the most badass Fire Emblem hero. D: Seriously. He screws the rules. xD |
I haven't seen the support conversations yet, I don't think. xD I'm lame and don't use that feature. I probably should, though. >_>;
Until I'm convinced otherwise, I'll stick with Florina just having a schoolgirl crush on Lyn. A very strong one, no doubt. xD Cannot argue with that. But I think it's all heart and not body. xD; |
c.c..Well you sometimes find out very interesting things through support convos. Plus, certain events in the story/endings can change depending on who you support people with. It's not hard to get them either. Also, depending on who you support, it can help improve stats and character development.
I'll still think she's totally got a hard-on for Lyn. =/ She's a creeper to me. But she's useful, so I keep her in my team until I get her sister, Farina. |
Together CK, we form a gaming super-team. Capable of tackling even the most diverse and toughest of bosses. Huzzah. V.V

Path of Radiance + Radiant Dawn are my favourite Fire Emblem games. Nephenee is probably my favourite Fire Emblem character ever, she always ends up with monstrous stats.
|
I know what you mean, Darke. Nephenee is a friggin' beast. >> I have Radiant Dawn, but I can't play it....because my dad won't let me use the wii he has since my game's a used one. =/ It's not even in bad condition either- it's like new.
|
That...makes no sense. Second hand games don't damage systems.
|
I know, but...my dad is convinced that I'm the destroyer of all technology. =/ And he also is convinced that second hand games are bad.
|
I'm playing through Path of Radiance with my brother right now (who has played it many times before), and I'm really enjoying it and looking forward to playing Radiant Dawn next. XD
At the moment my favorite character in terms of helpfulness to my team has to be Rhys. I love how in all his conversations he says how weak and sickly he is, and yet due to careful use of bonus exp and the random chance of stat-ups when he gets levels, the Rhys I have in MY game is not only the most powerful healer on the team, he's also the most badass magic-user. All quake before his light spells. Of death. I also really love little Rolf, he's so sweet and I want to hug him. My brother and I have an informal rivalry going between him and our other bow-user, Astrid, to see who will become more awesome. Of course, Astrid has a bit of an unfair advantage with her double-exp-getting ability (not to mention, she has a horse and can gain a second weapon type), but Rolf is holding his own stats-wise. At any rate, I'm looking forward to seeing what will happen in the plot as the game progresses. ^-^ |
Path of Radiance was an amazing game. Gotta say, Ike is a pretty bad-ass main character. He's so different from most FE heros, his brash, blunt personality really makes him stand out. I remember I had to sit back and applaud him when he mouthed off the most powerful person in their world with no holds barred.
I liked Rhys. He was just really slow to me and his defense was even worse than usual for a magic user. c.c Nothing like Serra's defense...xD That woman's a beast of a cleric. I prefer Soren over Rhys in terms of combat, though. Especially with his Adept ability. |
To me, Ike's the best main character in the series thus far. Mainly because he's not of royal heritage and has pissed off every royal on Tellius to date without getting himself killed and/or maimed. The only exceptions to this being Elincia (Not really a fan of her swordplay) and Kurthnaga, for good reasons. Neither are the high and mighty I-Rule-You type; which among blue bloods isn't what you'd expect.
I'm also a pretty big fan of Boyd. I've liked Warriors, but never loved them until this axe-wielding brawler hit my screen XD. The same can be said for Rolf, this boy takes everything I've thought of Archers/Snipers and straight up smashes it! Personality-wise he might be a wuss, but give him some props. His arrows will be critical'ing easily long before his promo. If that's not something to enjoy, watching a little boy pwning grown men trained in a nation focused nearly entirely on military power, then something's wrong with you O.o |
