Fantasy RP anyone?
 

I am looking for a group of people that would be interested in an RP that takes place in the Perilous Realm (better known by mortals as the land of Fairy). RPers must be literate and dedicated.
The type of person/creature that is played in this RP is limited only by your own imagination. The storyline of this RP will be determined by anyone interested in it.
The number of characters you can have is limited to 3. But please be sure to keep up with them all and use different font colors to distinguish them.
So... anyone interested?

Ok... I like the idea of a war :) I am going to work on the plot a bit and get it up and going in the regular RP thead section by this evening ^_^

sounds good. Ill wait for the actual plot to come up before I make my character tho so i'll know what kind it (she) will be. I havent decided yet if I will rp more then one person though since it has been a good long while since I have done more then one but I shall think about it once again depending on the plot

You have certainly piqued my interest, with mention of practically no racial restriction. I am not familiar with this 'Perilous Realm', however, but whole-heartedly wish to join as soon as such a thing is possible. Prithee, place the link to the resulting roleplay here when it comes to fruition, that I may access it easily, else send it to me in a Private Message. While my mind is astir with possibilities and cannot yet pick the character du jour, I shall have one made for the roleplay in a timely fashion, I assure you.

I am interested as well, although my skills in correctly writing literature are up to par with the guy above. Although it might do me some good to rp with him. I'll volunteer to be an antagonizer or the lackey of one. Let me know when you get a clearer idea of what the story will be.

My, my! Do I detect a note of flattery, Lucien? Keep that up and I shall get a swelled head! XD If you believe you would benefit from working with me, perhaps I shall play a villain as well, so that our roles complement each other and test our chemistry. I do believe you'd be quite an asset as well, and I look forward to the chance to play with you.

Gladly, I was thinking of playing a more barbaric, nearly savage character. Possibly an orc or a goblin. Could also just be a plain human lackey, but im not feeling like playing my race right now. Let me know what your thinking of being, I will attempt to base my character off it. :D

With a villain in mind, and a fantasy villain at that, with no racial limitations... Hmmmmm... I think I'll call up an old friend of mine, a character I thoroughly enjoyed using in some prior RPs that did not have the good fortune of remaining alive. A wraith, oddly casual and charming, but secretly sinister beneath his rural accent. A cold, calculating spectre, who knows greed despite not being of flesh and blood... Yes... We shall have to see which way Cedura shapes the plot.

When you say literate, do you mean full paragraphs with five to seven full sentences of multiple lengths and structures with the minimal amount of grammatical errors and mispellings, or something similar to the excellent writings of Mobius and a usage of gargantuan idioms?

@Mobius: Something undead huh? Why not a lich? Could always have raised minions, and your just as ghostly. Speaking of Cedura, she is being quiet.

@Cedura: How goes the thinking? Will this fantasy realm also include steampunk as well? :)

To assume that liches are the only undead capable of necromancy is a tad bit narrow-minded, wouldn't you say? Besides, there are times when living minions are much more capable, and much more intelligent. Also, my character will also have that kind of 'diplomatic evil', that tangible social cunning exhibited by other intelligent undead, such as vampirian races. The ability to manipulate social settings and networks can be just as devastating, if not more so, than raising the dead.

True, I merely meant that a being who is essentially a spirit would be hard to kill without the use of magic. A lich has a weakness traditional in fantasy settings. Destroy the link that binds them and they disperse. Although, are you reffering to LOTR ring wraiths? That would change my opinion then. I really didn't mean to appear narrow-minded, but I was being lazy with my typing, it's hard to appear knowledgeable with short sentences.

Spiritual beings aren't hard to kill. You just need magic, or to attack them while they're corporeal. Also, I'm working with the general idea that wraiths are corporeal until they decide they need to pass through surfaces, such as walls and floors. I know very well to keep weaknesses in mind; I've roleplayed for a good five years now. ^ ^ I thank you for your concern, however, as such is the mark of a noble roleplayer's heart.

I'm Definately liking you by the way, I would be honored to serve as your meat shield. What do you think of me playing as a dark elf cultist? Although an orc would serve the tanking aspect better than an elf. Or maybe just being a raised ghoul servant? Being the eyes and ears of a master, rather than a sword and shield, could serve just as well a purpose.

I also play Dungeons and Dragons, and it just so happens the Drow (dark elves) are my favourite race. What they may lack in strength, they more than make up for it in mental fortitude and knowledge on weaponry, poisons, and methods of killing. Not to mention stealth. Dark elves are amazingly stealthy. You have my vote there. ^ ^

Did Cedura open up a thread in the Rp forum?

It doesn't quite seem that way yet, I'm afraid. Hopefully, that shall change in time.

BTW with holidays and such coming up.... does anyone mind if it takes on a slightly festive theme as well.... like the setting being close to the WInter solstice, longest night of the year, and all that fun stuff?
I dont want to peg down a particular holiday like christmas or new years because not everyone celebrates, and they arent very fantacy like.... But with a midwinters theme, you could incorporate so many different magical or mystical elements..... Just let me know what you think....

And there will still be some type of War also ^_^

Sir Mobius thy words do ring pleasantly upon my ears. Like a trickling spring when thirst comes upon thee. I would too be most welcomed to come and participate upon the frivolities of such a venture.

The holidays huh? I think this rp will be pretty fun. BTW, can anyone tell me if there are ways to use pictures off your computer without resorting to registering with Photobucket ? My biggest issue is getting a picture for my character profiles. I am too uncouth to talk in a proper fashion lol, forgive me of my simpleton ways. :D
