What kind of roleplays do you guys like?
I know that if you're on here, you've been in a roleplay or three. I have too. I'm just wondering what you guys like the best. And I mean roleplays as in anything, MMOs, Final Fantasy/KH-type, Stuff here on Mene; what do you guys like the best? :yumeh2:
|
hmmm well I like all types... But I like to go for more realtic ones >.<
|
I hate roleplays and no I haven't.
|
I don't roleplay very often but I have fun when I do. I like the ones that are based on anime's that I like, which is what kind I'm currently part of.
|
I'll RP anything from Torchwood to Hanna Is Not a Boy's Name. As long as I like the series, I don't mind. I also have a plethora of OCs. The themes vary, but all of my RPs involve heavy plotting beforehand or at least even a minor concept of plot and character development. I'm not too picky on the genre, but if it's romance, it can't be fast. I loathe RPs that run as follows: 'So and so notices your character. So and so will now hit on him/her until s/he caves.' There's no chemistry at all. It's pathetic and actually ticks me off. So I guess my answer is, I like well thought out RPs with good characters and a good plot.

I love doing all sorts of RP's :3, sometimes it'll be based off an anime, or it'll be a completely original one that my friends and I made up. Right now I'm in an RP guild on Gaia with my friends, and it's a futuristic scifi based guild >w<. It has lots of drama, violence, and more 8D

When I roleplay I like to see what happens if I take the same characters and put them in different settings--places, time periods, what have you. I really love coming up with new backstories for all of my characters (who are mostly OCs) so that they fit with their new surroundings.
I also like RP to be a good mix of serious plot and interpersonal relationship-building (not just the romantic kind). So, I enjoy it when there is 'down time' amidst long-term plot or between serious plots, for my charas to spent time with their families and get to know new people. When it comes to plot, I love keeping my RP partner in suspense with little dangles of foreshadowing. XD We take turns 'GMing' plots so we each get turns to guide the stories along and describe settings and NPCs along the way. |
I'm sure not everyone on here has been on a role play. There are quite a few people who just hang out with their friends in the forums.
I personally go to avatar sites for roleplaying but usually prefer Gaia to Menewsha in terms of roleplaying alone. I usually like mine to have a bit of fantasy in them but I've played quite a few different genres and time periods. When I first started out with roleplaying I prefered anime-based ones but now I usually tend to stray from those. ^^; |
@sweet_serender159 - Ah, I see. :)
@Hey its Marise - Ah. >.> I apologize. I thought everyone participated in roleplays, seeing as when I was introduced to Menewsha my friend made it seem like a pure-roleplaying site. @Rena Ryugu - Same here, but I haven't really been a part of a roleplay that involves any fandom of mine yet. :) @Skullushka - I agree wholeheartedly. :) It always makes it more fun to have a real story developing instead of the 'so and so does this and you say:' kind of thing. @Laila Izuka - I see. :D Very cool. @KidK Mirai - I agree. :) It's fun to put ocs (or any character) in a different situation. Yeah. I love roleplays that get so developed that they practically turn into book-quality stuff. ^^ But stressful plots make the roleplayers stressed as well, it seems. >.> Downtime roleplays seem to be more relaxing than the main RP it seems. @zigbigadorlube - >.> Ah, I didn't know that. Really. When I was introduced to the site, my friend told me it was a roleplaying site with an avatar system, honest. I honestly thought that everyone was at least in one roleplay here. And, Ah, I see. ^^ I haven't been on Gaia, save for the times that my friend shows me. I haven't been in a fandom-based roleplay yet, but I might sometime soon. >.> Thank you to all who replied! :D |
ROMANCE

I like Dungeons and Dragons role playing games. I currently have a character that I have been playing for the last couple of years. I really enjoy role playing with a group of people in this game. It can really be a lot of fun.
|
I like playing story roleplays and old classics like Final Fantasy. On forums I play pretty much any type of genre. Romance, horror, fantasy, you name it. I don't play fandoms very often though. I haven't found a person yet to do a good fandom roleplay with. ; - ;

I prefer story roleplaying, but talking them out with my boyfriend is fine, too. (He has a sexy voice and our rps are often explicit romance, so yay~) I like doing fandom ones more than original, because I never feel I keep my own characters in character. Without guidelines, I feel I go out of control.
|
@lillian90005 - Ah, I see. :)
@Kole_Locke - Cool. :D @Louis duLac - Very cool ^^ I love Final Fantasy. Me too. >.> That seems to be a problem, doesn't it? When I do something involving a fandom, I usually try to think it out thoroughly before I post it anywhere. @Dissociative_Dreamer - That must be very fun XD. I constantly doubt myself when I'm writing from another character's point of view... I always feel that I'm getting out of THEIR character when I write. >.> (Ex. 'Story of my Life -Xion-' from my dA page) ^^ I've yet to participate in a fandom roleplay, but I might start one, one of these days. |
As far as taking part in and writing a roleplay, I love doing yaoi. I won't do anything else. I also prefer the one on one types, since they're way easier to keep up with.
As far as roleplaying games go, I enjoy MMORPG's. I'm very picky, though. The only kind I'll play are the fantasy ones. My favorites are Trickster and Luna Online, though nowadays I can't play either of them. I love the graphics and art for both of them. <3 So adorable. |
Roleplaying via typing: I like fantasy type roleplays, versus real life roleplays though I don't mind the latter. I don't like doing anything series related, except probably Poke'mon, because I don't watch any animes. I have several roleplaying characters, which I can adapt to various settings. Yaoi, yuri, hetero, doesn't matter to me. I like one on one roleplaying, because then I don't feel pressured to post or get left behind if others go ahead.
Roleplaying via gaming: Again, fantasy or mafia types. I have Kingdom Hearts, Scarface, Final Fantasy X, GTA: Vice City Stories, and Getting Up. I don't really like solely shooting games, where it looks in first person and you can see your hands and gun, and that's it. First person, in either roleplaying online or in games, bothers me. |
I like casual, unplanned, non-paragraph roleplay.
It can actually be good, if one puts enough detail and makes it go somewhere, it's really a lot of fun. |
@Hybrid - Ah, Yaoi. XD Nice. I bet those can get really interesting over time. They must be very fun to do. ^^ As for MMOs, I can't really give an opinion. I've never been on one. Are they fun?
@|| P W E E P || - Very cool. ^^ That adaptability comes in handy with different situations and other roleplays. I don't do a whole lot about fandoms with roleplays, but I am a fan-fiction writer. >.> One-on-One must be the least stressful. :) I LOVE FF and KH. The other games, I haven't heard of, but they sound interesting. >.> I agree. First-person is a bit awkward for me as well. I'm not all that good with it. |
CADFND:
Oh, definitely. They never get old. Plus I find hetero roleplays (that revolve around romance) a little boring. They're tons of fun. The only problem is that downloading can take a few times for the game to actually work, and once it does, there's usually lag. ;/ |
@Hybrid - ^^ Yeah, there's a lot more story development that goes on in a yaoi story than a hetero when it comes to romance, isn't there?
Ah. I bet that gets rather annoying when you're in the middle of something... :sweat: |
I enjoy horror types. :} But mostly Zombies. <3
|
@JujuBean - Ah, I see. ^^
|
I never actually done any role plays but i would certainly like to try! Most of what ive seen here are school-based or romantic, neither of which i think i will do good in. Its also kind of puts me off when everyone is like BE LITERATE OR DIE or something along them lines.. elitist. >_< Anyhow enough of my ranting... if i ever get the chance i think a adventure/ mystery would be best for me to start with but that is just my guess.
