The Birthday Massacre OFFICIAL THREAD
Well, they did it again. My favourite cult-following-status band has done it again and made an amazing job with their new music video "In The Dark" from their newest album "Pins and Needles".
Pins and Needles broke the Billboard 200 chart at #152 the first week of sales! This is extremely impressive for a non-mainstream band! Feel free to discuss the band's current and past work. |
Video's nice, but the song? I dunno if I'm totally cool with it. "I'm in the dark, I'm alone without you"? Wat.
|
You didn't hear the lyrics right. It's "in the dark, I'm alone around you".
It's not a song about dependancy, but a song about someone else being cold. Plus their whole album "Pins and Needles" is out now and it has much more metal influence than their previous work. |
It wouldn't let me watch the video :(
But as a fan of TBM I wasn't wowed by their new album. It seems like more of the same to me, really, and it's kind of depressing that their musical career hit its high at Violet and has kinda tapered off ever since.. |
I got to see The Birthday Massacre live when I was in New York City, they were great! I've been a fan for a few years now. I like "In the Dark" as a song but find the video to be a bit too creepy for me. (I'm such a chicken, LOL!)

TBM and their videos never cease to amaze and inspire me. It's almost like watching a Tim Burton film in a matter of mere minutes and an amazing soundtrack, though I guess a single song wouldn't really count as a soundtrack, but I hope that you get what I mean. And since I've started listening to the band I've had all sorts of ideas just pulse through me, and I've started writing and drawing, and editing pictures. I feel like they've really let me express my own creativity through the energy of their music, much like a muse. =]

They were having problems with the video not being in stereo. Here is the real HD video:
I think Violet was the best as well. I really miss Aslan's influence on the group. Even though some of his infulence is there, for example he was the one that came up with the "24 hour spiral clock" that is the CD art and prevalent in the music video. Guess who is going to see TBM for the... uhm... 8th time live on the 17th? :boogie: I have an extra ticket and am attempting to take my little brother for his birthday but I'm afraid my PsychoBitch of a stepmom won't let him/us. I'm usually out of things for all the band members to sign, I'm the leader of the San Francisco Bay Area TBM Fans group (made a fan poster for them in Modesto). |
Really amazing band! Hadn't heard their new stuff, thanks♥ nice video...

When they were in San Francisco a couple of weeks ago, I and an extra ticket and my friend was able to grab some live videos before the battery on his camera went dead. They opened with "In the Dark":
