Okay so.
I'm a active/nonactive user.
As in, I get on I play games till I max out, buy stuff and change my avi peek at the forums without posting and reply to a pm then am on my marry way.

As if the 500 limit weren't painful enough, now its 250.

agreed. this is stupid and ridiculous, not only was i limited to just 500 and now its been cut, but the prices of things havent changed-- this is NOT FAIR!

This post explains the experimental change in the gold gap for games.

And this post explains that the gold per post was increased to help offset it.

I'm pretty sure I already know why.
Probably the whole "Hey! Stop playing so many games and start talking on the forums!"

so.... you changed the max limit so people wouldnt play games and would be forced to socialize even if they really have nothing to say? thats kind of ...i dont want to say stupid but no other word comes to mind.

what exactly is the 'experiment' testing? increased posting? duh. because people want gold, and i dont know about anyone else, but i dont like to post and i enjoy games.

You're both welcome to leave feedback in those threads I linked. The admin have been following them to see how the change affects the site and the users, and they want both the positive and the negative feedback.

I join different communities for different reasons.
I particularly liked this one because it had really good games and even with the limit they were worth playing but now I'm kind of not feeling like it anymore.
I love avatar based communities but only cause I like to dress up my avi and play games. Not much of a forum chatter.

Not to mention, you can still PLAY the games after your gold cap has been met. So if you're really here to just play games, then the new gold cap isn't going to change anything for you.

If you ONLY play games for the gold, then yeah that would mean you have to spend twice the amount of days playing just games to save up the same amount. But since the gold cap used to be A LOT smaller, with harder games - really you should feel lucky that we get to earn gold for the games at all.

Not really. Sure games are never the soul purpose of these sites. But they're one of those "Hey! Look we have avatars, forums and even games to add!" It's still one of those perks that draws people to stay.

Again, I just love these kind of sites cause I can dress avis up. And I've found I spend lots of time on them when they have games that help earn gold. It didn't really bother me when it was 500 cause I never ever really made it that far. usually I earned around 300 or so a day. my soul purpose to be on these sites are the avis. And I'm sure I'm the only one or one of few who are like this.

I talk to friends through PM which doesn't earn any gold. And I don't like posting on forums I'm more of a lurker. And I'm a bit shy to rp in forums, and personally don't like it. I rp through pms as well.

I never made much a day. And that was fine but now I'm making even less. Doesn't seem fair.

Having a 500 gold max limit has caused this site an influx in gold in a ratio high above the average sell value of the highest priced item. If gold is that much of an issue to you please complain in life issues where people actually pretend to care. If you only play games and never post, as it seems both of you do. Why the hell are you on this site? Are you embarrassed you dont have gold or items to be dressed? I have gone two weeks naked and I am a very valuable account. Value of an account over the personal value is bullshit. If you think because you are worth x-amount of gold you are worth a fuck. You need to re-evaluate yourself. Mene has always prided itself on the community. Back when the site first stared gold was VERY difficult to earn from games. By that I mean that the games acted as a gold sink too. There was Chance, which was a card game and you could loose up to 2 gold a game, then there was fishing where you had to buy bait. I don't see a problem with the gold cap just because it's a huge improvement with how the games used to be. I also think that 250 gold is more than enough especially when you can now earn up to 30 gold a post.

You can also have one mule account on Mene. That equals 500 gold between the two accounts. That's another option if you want the 500 gold a day still.

I also agree with gold from games being a bad idea for the economy in general but I will save that little rant.

There's no need to insult the people who prefer to play games and dress up rather than talk in the forums. Mene has awesome clothing! It encourages making gold to buy more outfits. Think of it as a compliment.

It is a potentially temporary change. They're just testing some things out. I've expressed my opinion that I don't think people will post more in the forums just because they're playing games less (if people want to chat, they'll chat) and that it doesn't seem a good idea to try to force people to post in any case. But in the long run, we have to trust the staff to do what's best for the site.

You're basically saying that the staff of Menewsha is in the wrong and is completely to blame because you can't earn enough gold since they're limiting your God-given right to earn gold by only playing video games on a forum site rather than posting in the forums? And anybody who agrees that the purpose of a forum site should be to post in the forums rather than only playing the video games to earn gold is also in the wrong just as much as the staff of Menewsha? That's pretty much your entire argument in a nutshell, right?

Well, since you put it that way, I guess you were right all along. I can't believe that I was SO rude for not agreeing with you and for believing all this time that I should have been only playing video games rather than wasting all this time by meeting people, making friends, chatting with those friends, and generally having a good time during the entire process. She said that she felt like this change wasn't allowing her to use the site the way she wanted to and that she didn't like being forced to chat when she just wanted to play games and dress up. Everyone is allowed to have their differing opinions. I barely play the games myself and the change in gold limit doesn't affect me, but I understand that it affects other people. I think that we should all be able to express our opinions without insulting other people in the thread.

I agree with you actually, yes, this place is a forum but at the same time-- there are people who prefer to play games and yet still post a little but like playing games more. I think five hundred gold was fine otherwise Insomniac would not have put the game gold cap to five hundred gold to begin, but since they have increased the gold post maximum to thirty gold a post, I think three hundred gold would be about right. It definitely will take longer to quest for gold if you are not much of a conversationalist while typing. Some folks just aren't skilled enough to type that fast and get frustrated after a bit. I know this is a forum, but at the same time-- I think they should cater a bit towards gamers too, but that is just my humble opinion. I'm not going to say any names but some users are just plain rude and like to think they are high and mighty just because they have connections with some of the staff on the site. Acting like that doesn't make them look cool, it makes them look pompous and flippant; furthermore, I don't think that them lowering the gold cap and someone getting upset about it should be advised to go complain in the life issues forum when there are lot of people who have valid LIFE issues they are sharing with others.

I kind of like to option to make more gold in the games as well, especially on days when I do log on and only feel like playing games only.
