@ Xu&Luenola; Ivy Tech, it's a community one that's prob'ly why. They're trying to become more sophisticated. They've also added in second 8-week courses to take during a semester now. @ . @ The schools screwed a lot of people up throughout the years, it's nothing new but its annoying. xD
@ Luenola; Dang... that is a lot of writing. I admire your ambition! XD Perfume? You make homemade perfume? That's neat ~ Here's a temp new welcome banner for the Graveyard... or should it be permanent? I took the time to draw the skeleton head and the roses but eh. I feel as if its missing something? |
That is messy. And expensive. D:
Okay, RP world-building got mostly done. One fanfic update down, plotline for the next needs external review. Novel is stagnating for now. I make excellent life choices, Miro. I don't recommend them. And yes, I make my own perfume and sometimes take commissions. It's a nice hobby. I get to wear completely customized scents, and they often make great presents. I also make some of my own jewellery, but perfuming is more fun, admittedly. XD I think the banner is really cute. XD On the note of missing something, I'd say it doesn't seem creepy enough? But then this is a very cute graveyard, so a cute banner makes sense... Hrm. =3 |
Perfume making? That is cool! How to do it?
Result was out for my internship and I am very unsatisfied. |
@ Luenola; Yes, yes it is. ><
Omg... well, that is a great ambition you have. I try to do that myself but I never like what I write out and have to redo. lol Hahaha! Well, I think it's great that you are doing it even its hard sometimes. ... YOU MASTER CRAFT-CREATOR, COME TO MEEEE! :illgetu: XD <3 My mom always said she wanted to do that herself but never did. I don't think I ever could since I'm picky about what smells I like and so far I'm only attracted to Viva La Juicy. eh, yeah. Is perfume more easier to make than jewelry? bah! I KNEW IT ~ but I thought if I made it too "scary" then no one would venture? Or maybe I can't do extreme creepiness...? *shot* |
*skips through the thread*

Ooh, I like the banner thing for the Graveyard, Miro. 8D I especially like the glowy keyhole in the skeleton's mouth. o__O It's soooo cool (and shiiiinyyyy)! Hmm, I feel like it could use a little more darker elements... but nothing TOO dark. I dunno. o_O;; I'm bad at explaining, sorry. XD

Oh? That's unfortunate. Quote:
Well, perfuming takes less time actually sitting down and doing stuff, but unlike jewellery-making, mistakes are not repairable? Like if you make a necklace too short, you can always extend it. But if you mix two or three oils that smell awful together, you can't exactly un-mix them. So I don't know if you can say it's easier. Hm, I don't have any good suggestions for you. =/ |
I read that to become a perfumer, the nose have to very very sensitive to different scent?
|
Ah, yes, quite! And you need to be able to imagine what different scents would smell like together before you mix them because, like I was telling Miro, mistakes are very expensive. XD
|
wow, scent oil themselves are very expensive?
Where could you possibly get those? |
My mom's friend manufactures some, so can get at cost. I buy some in Thailand because it's cheaper there. And then there are some that need to be bought from either America or Australia for an arm and a leg.It varies. XD"
|
Thailand? O_O
I mean which shop or type of industry to get the scent? |
Which shop? Err, various? Aromatherapy shops? Look for essential oils.
|
how about those bottles and alcohols or base oil thingy?
where to get those? |
Base oil can usually be bought from the same places. Alcohol and bottles have to order online, unfortunately.
|
Unfortunate! T__T
I actually is more interested in the bottles than the perfume. XD |
Ah well. It is actually quite sad that the bottles are sometimes as or more difficult to obtain as/than the ingredients.
|
you just make me more sad with that piece of reality... T__T
|
Unless you order in bulk. If you want a large quantity of bottles, it's not that hard. XD"
|
I am just a collector, not hoarder of same stuff.
I just collect designs. XD |
Oh, decorative bottles? Yeah, that could be a challenge. I've found it's best to get something in a bottle you like as opposed to trying to just get the bottles.
|
and then, what happen to the inside thing?
|
Use it? Let someone use it on condition that they give you the bottle when it's empty?
Lots of perfume on the market come in specially designed bottles, where the bottle is often nicer than the perfume inside. You could always let your friend or relative use the perfume if it's not to your taste and take the bottle from them when it's empty. |

then I am paying for something I don't use...
Actually that is the perfume bottles that I am eying... they tends to have nice designs. |
