Resident Evil Revelations

Ah, Resident Evil, you have decided to grace our presence with your existence again in 2011.

Obviously for those in here you are probably aware, or curious, about the release of the new Resident Evil Revelations being released for the 3DS. From the trailer, we are to presume that the main setting is upon a ship, perhaps a cruiser, in the middle of the ocean. We have our main character Jill Valentine and Chris Redfield present, along with a third mysterious character.

I am quite excited for this. Although I enjoyed Resident Evil 4 and 5 for their game play and graphics, I did not enjoy them as a Resident Evil title. For one, Leon Kennedy is beginning to get on my nerves (when will you be played by Keanu Reeves!!!). But besides that. They weren't scary what-so-ever, and the release of this new "plagus" completely tore the element of survival horror and replaced it with an action basis.

I understand why thyis had to be done though. Sadly, horror games do not sell, and Resident Evil was slowly, although a cult classic for gamers, dying out. We needed something new, something besides the terror of zombies. I personally didn't need it, but the public did. So the terror was torn away, and in comes the action.

This new game however seems to show us the threat of the zombie invasion has returned. This time, inside of being in the bright world of Africa, we are immersed in this dark, dank ship with it's enclosed corridors and unknown hallways. We are able to feel cramped, secluded, and choked. Along with the fear of the undead, I feel as if the essence of horror might be returning. This with the supposed 3D graphics, I have become curious.

I was able to play with the 3D during an recent gaming event, and I am unsure how I feel. Right now, they seem touchy, but maybe the technology will be up to par in the next year or so.

As for the characters themselves. Apparently we see Chris hiding something from Jill, acquiring something he shouldn't have so it seems. As for the man in the chair that we speculate as HUNK, we assume he knows something us viewers do not.

Or is that HUNK? Are we going to be immersed into the world that Resident Evil Gaiden through us in, another hand-held I feel the world is trying to forget. Are clones running around of Chris? Is this all one big misunderstanding?!

I know not the answers at this time, as nothing has been revealed. I will however be doing as much research as possible in order to find out. Any others interested, or have any ideas?

It definitely looks interesting, I just hate they are putting it on a Nintendo platform-- I won't hate it as much if they at least make it available for all of the other platforms including the Play Station Three and the X box Three Sixty otherwise I think that would really really really suck, because ( I know this is going to sound a bit selfish) I don't have a Nintendo 3dS and cannot afford one at the present time for now.

I watched the trailer, and the huge wave kind of reminded me of the Perfect Storm a little lol.... I hope Jill and Chris are not really at odds with each other because that would kind of suck. I think it probably is just a big misunderstanding and I'm sure wherever Chris is Weskar cannot be that far off away. I'm curious as to who was the guy that was tied up to the chair in the trailer. My curiousity is definitely peaked now.

So is it supposed to be Resident Evil Six or just another independant spin off. I never played the Resident Evil Gaiden Games so I know little about other than it took place on a abandoned ship with Leon S Kennedy and Barry as the main characters.

You know I have to say this.. I kind of wihsed they did not make the new updated Versions of Resident Evil two and Code veronica a rail shooting game and kept true to the original format of them.. I thought that was kind of disappointing in my humble opinion.
