Same. They're nice, but I change my mind far too much, and I like how plain skin looks more.

But if I were to ever get one, it would say страху нет. "No fear" in Russian. Because I need to remind myself that a lot.

Pearl 01-07-2011 12:14 AM

I wouldn't even be able to settle on an idea for 10 minutes. xD

I can't think of anything I want branded on me forever.

Cardinal Biggles 01-07-2011 12:23 AM

Yes, I can definitely understand that sentiment, Pearl. That's why, even as someone who can appreciate them, I don't have one.

Pearl 01-07-2011 12:25 AM

I was intrigued by the new B.L.A.H hangout, but on second thoughts... no. :'D

It's nicer here.

Cardinal Biggles 01-07-2011 12:26 AM

Oh, well thank you very much. I'm not opposed to getting wacky from time to time, but nice is definitely more the speed I was aiming for.

Pearl 01-07-2011 12:31 AM

More... measured thought, perhaps.

However dumb that thought might secretly be.

Cardinal Biggles 01-07-2011 12:36 AM

oh wow. You've kind of just summed me up in a nutshell. Am I so obvious that my thread takes on that tone?

Pearl 01-07-2011 12:39 AM

Oh no, you're a well-disguised con-artist.

I firmly believe that you are a genius.

Cardinal Biggles 01-07-2011 12:41 AM

Yes, excellent. None the wiser.

:ninja:

Pearl 01-07-2011 12:44 AM

I watched a couple of Boosh episodes with my dad this evening.

It was Power of the Crimp (I think), and Electro.

Also watched a slightly disturbing documentary on psychology (mostly 'mind control', alteration of behaviour, e.g Milgram), from the same journalist who did a brilliant six-part documentary on the history of surgery. Info here- BBC - BBC Four Programmes - Blood and Guts: A History of Surgery

Cardinal Biggles 01-07-2011 12:47 AM

Oh wow.* Both those documentaries sound supremely interesting. I love a good Doc.
Glad to see you are getting some series three in =3

*jeez, utilizing 'oh wow' again so soon? My vocabulary is shrinking...

Pearl 01-07-2011 12:51 AM

Michael Mosley is also a supremely likeable presenter. :3

If anything the series 3 episode reaffirmed my apathy for it, heh.

Cardinal Biggles 01-07-2011 12:52 AM

I really enjoy Michael Wood as a presenter. You feel his learned enthusiasm.

Pearl 01-07-2011 12:57 AM

I think I recognise his face, haven't seen any of his docs for a long time though.

I remember one I watched every week - in a grim way - which was about The Final Solution.
BBC, every Tuesday, a few years ago.

Cardinal Biggles 01-07-2011 12:59 AM

Oh gosh, that must have been so emotionally draining. We must never forget, and always use it as an example for the next generation, and yet I find the prospect of dwelling on it weeks on end dismal.

Pearl 01-07-2011 01:01 AM

It was 6 episodes, and it was primarily about Auschwitz. It was quite a methodical, practical look at it - money, logistics, etc.

I don't think anything has to be said about the obvious.

Hyena 01-08-2011 12:57 PM

Mmmm.... good morning, Fancy People.

I feel so uncultured to not have had BBC. My girlfriend was practically brought up on Dr. Who, Blackadder, and Red Dwarf; and here I am with my self-depreciating humor and fart jokes brought to you by FOX. ^^;

On the other hand, maybe its best that I got the self-depreciating humor and fart jokes out of the way... so I'm not jaded when it comes to better things. Or... something. >>

Cherry Who? 01-08-2011 06:43 PM

I've been watching the English The Office. It makes me feel fancier than when I watch American The Office, but it also sort of just makes me want to watch the American version. >>

Hyena 01-08-2011 10:21 PM

I'm not really a fan of either of them, really. Its just kind of awkward in my opinion. >>

Cardinal Biggles 01-08-2011 10:22 PM

I've got to say, I prefer the British version. I think it has to do with the longer format. It makes it seem, less episodic, even though that sentiment doesn't have a leg to stand on...

Cherry Who? 01-09-2011 01:49 AM

Hyena - The extreme awkwardness of it is where the humor comes from.

Biggles - Longer format? They're both half an hour.

I definitely like the British version. But I think they mumble too much, I miss 25% of the jokes because I can't hear what they're saying. >>

Cardinal Biggles 01-09-2011 01:52 AM

The British version is 45 minutes, isn't it? Adult Swim gave it a forty five minute time slot, I remember that much.

Cherry Who? 01-09-2011 01:55 AM

Nope, 30 minutes. 28 to be precise, I think. What it likely is is that BBC has shorter commercial breaks, so the shows get to be a bit longer in England (not by that much), so in America we have to either cut them down or give them slightly longer breaks. And since Adult Swim tends to have ridiculously long commercial breaks, I'd imagine that's why. American Office is probably closer to 21.

Pearl 01-09-2011 01:55 AM

Does Adult Swim have adverts?

The Office lasts 30 minutes an episode, on the BBC, which has no ads.

Rather than being 24 minutes like most shows, because of ads.

I never got into the Office.
And Fox isn't all bad, they gave us Arrested Development which is awesome. But each episode is only 22 minutes cuz of ads >.>

Cardinal Biggles 01-09-2011 02:01 AM

Could be also that I'm factoring the specials into the time calculations.
The BBC proper doesn't have commercial breaks.
