Wyatt was disappointed, but glad he'd received some sort of response. "Erm, yes...I will gather what I need from my room. Could you...search around for my little brother? I know for sure that he played hooky today. A video game he wants is coming out in an hour, and he is going to the mall to buy it early." He reluctantly pulled away from Logan.
Logan was a little taken back from his request, "Are you sure that's okay? I mean I don't really know him... or anything... what did you want me to tell him?" he was becoming a bit nervous he felt like he'd be intruding, especially walking around by himself in the house, he'd much rather stay with Wyatt. Nonetheless he moved out of the car waiting for Wyatt to lead him into the house.
Wyatt stepped out as well, heading towards the front door. "I need you to ask him if he will feed my snakes while I am gone, and not tell my mother where I am," he murmured, sounding a little ashamed about the last one. "My snakes need to be fed in three days. They eat about once a month."
The way Wyatt talked Logan wondered how long he would stay, but at least he knew Wyatt would be safe staying with him. He then caught up with him and talked over Wyatt's shoulder, "But don't you think you should at least leave your mom a note... or something?" he knew that Wyatt's mom wasn't a nice person, but it wasn't right to make her think her son could be in trouble or worse.
"I...would rather not." Wyatt sounded tentative. "She saw me leave with someone...she'll assume I've escaped the house for now and am staying with someone else." He opened the door, quietly. "He should be in the living room...will you be all right on your own?" He sounded concerned.
Logan swallowed hard as they entered, "Yeah sure..." he said bringing a hand behind his head, "I'll be fine." he entered parting ways with Wyatt to move into the living room, after a couple of seconds he spotted Wyatt's brother.
"Hey... um I don't think we met properly, I'm Logan, your brothers friend." He held out a hand for him to shake. |
Wyatt immediately headed up to his room to pack his laptops, a few gaming systems, and clothes. He also greeted his snakes, petting them and cooing to them.
Much like Wyatt, his brother stared at the offered hand and then shook his head. Up close...his eyes were indeed a bright, intimidating shade of red. "I'm Tzalmon," he replied, shortly. His body language and tone were curious. |
Logan was nervous, and it was hard for him to hide it especially when his brother rejected Logan's hand. He pulled it back unsure of what to do. "Um... Wyatt wanted me to ask you if you could feed his snakes... he's going to be away for awhile..." he watched his eyes, they were similar to the way Wyatt's used to be, although now Wyatt's expressions were softened.
Tzalmon was fixing him with that odd, cold stare. He barely blinked. "I can. You are having him over, at your house?" he added, oddly curious about that. It seemed Wyatt was right--he did like to pry.
Logan stuck his hands in his pockets, this conversation was getting awkward quickly, "Uh yeah, I have a big place... there's lots of bedrooms you know... and everything like that, more like a hotel than a house, heh..." he bit his lip, did Wyatt's brother already not like him?
"And that doesn't bother you?" Tzalmon asked, puzzled. "Especially since he will probably stay in or near the same room as you do." Tzalmon already knew that Wyatt was attracted to males.
"No?" Logan said oddly, "He's my friend why would it bother me? I'm just helping him out." He couldn't figure out why Tzalmon really cared about that, it wasn't a big deal, although Logan left out the fact that they need to sleep in the same bed for the time being, but that information wasn't important anyway.
Tzalmon tilted his head. "He didn't tell you? No, wait, of course he didn't. He lost friends that way..." he murmured, softly. He then began to muse to himself for a long, quiet moment.
Logan listened to Tzalmon's voice, it sounded like he was trying to rat out Wyatt on something, but Logan wouldn't care to hear it from him anyway. "Whatever it is, I'm sure Wyatt would tell me if it was important." his fist clenched in his pocket, his brother seemed to be a bit of a bully as well.
"Ah. But you see, I'd wager he's afraid to tell you, for fear of losing you as well," Tzal informed him, a gentler tone in his voice. "It is the reason our mother does not want him to have other males at the house." He was trying to let it out without saying anything too revealing.
Logan was trying to ignore what Tzalmon was saying, it seemed odd, and he didn't want to really try and figure it out, "Well, it all doesn't matter to me okay... now it was nice meeting you and all, but we're about to leave." He walked Tzalmon not wanting to hear the rest of what he had to say, he trusted Wyatt.
"You should ask him," Tzalmon called, pointedly. "If he really does trust you, he will tell you."
Wyatt was making his way down the stairs with three moderate-sized suitcases and a bag of gaming supplies. |
Logan ignored his last words, although the thought of something being kept from him ate at him slowly, but he wouldn't bother to ask Wyatt he was sure he would tell him within time and when it was appropriate to. He caught Wyatt coming down the stairs, "All ready to go?" He said grabbing two of the suitcases from him.
"Yes." Wyatt, terrified about venturing out of the closet to other people due to his past experiences, was probably never going to admit it unless he was heavily pressured. He headed outside, towards the car.
Logan easily popped the trunk and plopped the suitcases inside, "You're bringing a lot of stuff..." Logan said with a grin, he was a little sad that he wouldn't see Wyatt in his clothes anymore, it was really adorable. He shook the thought from his head, Wyatt didn't feel that way about him anyway.
Wyatt set what he still carried inside the trunk, as well. "Yes...I plan to stay for a while, since...I...well...I am afraid to come home," he admitted, softly. He was seventeen, and technically was not old enough to move out of his home.
Logan looked to him a bit concerned, "Is it really that bad?" he asked worried about what this might do when Wyatt actually decided to go home. He felt horrible about the idea that Wyatt didn't have much of a home to go back to, and from the sounds of it his brother didn't seem too easy to get along with either. He closed the trunk once everything was inside and moved back to the drivers seat.
Wyatt sat back in the passenger seat, slowly. "I...it's just her..." Wyatt murmured, unsurely. "Nothing else...when she gets angry, she hurts us..." He trailed off, saying nothing more.
Logan looked back to Wyatt when he turned the ignition on, "I'm sorry its so rough... it really shouldn't be that way for you, you don't deserve it." Logan meant that, it was why he fought so hard earlier for him, no matter what his punishment would be. It then occurred to him as they backed out of the driveway that he hadn't apologized, "I'm sorry I got you suspended."
"I should be apologizing. It was all my fault, even the extended suspension. I have a problem with authority abusing their power, as you probably already saw." Wyatt sniffed, and then curled up slightly in the front seat. "I think we should both get some rest when we get back."
