I WANT TO ROLEPLAY

If you are interested then I tend to prefer a fantasy based rp, though throwing some steam punk or what have you in with it would be fun.

If you know these following settings then I am also willing to rp them.

Warhammer Fantasy or 40K
Iron Kingdoms
World of Warcraft
Oblivion
Dragon Age
Everquest
The Black Company

Just let me know if you are interested.
I also far prefer playing a female character.

I am reserving this for future use.

AmaniIshtar 09-18-2010 10:26 PM

Fantasy is lots of fun, what in particular about fantasy?

Athilea Majiri 09-18-2010 10:41 PM

Just any setting you may have in mind. I tend to lean towards playing elves, but I'm open for anything. I rather enjoy High Fantasy.

AmaniIshtar 09-18-2010 10:52 PM

Now thats a term I haven't heard. Whats the diff from fantasy to High Fantasy? I'm more leaning to my Mermaid one and a few select others...

Athilea Majiri 09-18-2010 11:07 PM

High fantasy or epic fantasy is a subgenre of fantasy that is set in invented or parallel worlds. High fantasy originated with the writings of William Morris, George MacDonald, and Lord Dunsany, and came to fruition through the work of authors such as J. R. R. Tolkien and C. S. Lewis, whose major fantasy works were published in the 1950s.[1] High fantasy, along with sword and sorcery, has become one of the two genres most commonly associated with the general term fantasy.

and
Fantasy is a genre that uses magic and other supernatural phenomena as a primary element of plot, theme, and/or setting. Many works within the genre take place in fictional worlds where magic is common. Fantasy is generally distinguished from science fiction in that it does not provide a logical (or pseudo logical) explanation for the scientifically impossible events that occur, though there is a great deal of overlap between the two (both are subgenres of speculative fiction).
In popular culture, the genre of fantasy is dominated by its medievalist form, especially since the worldwide success of The Lord of the Rings books by J. R. R. Tolkien. In its broadest sense however, fantasy comprises works by many writers, artists, filmmakers, and musicians, from ancient myths and legends to many recent works embraced by a wide audience today.
Fantasy is a vibrant area of academic study in a number of disciplines (English, cultural studies, comparative literature, history, medieval studies). Work in this area ranges widely, from the structuralist theory of Tzvetan Todorov, which emphasizes the fantastic as a liminal space, to work on the connections (political, historical, literary) between medievalism and popular culture.

So, that's pretty much the difference there.

mermaids sound interesting. I have never really tried to rp them out, but I have a good idea for one already.

AmaniIshtar 09-18-2010 11:18 PM

Heh. You know alot about it. Studied it?

Well I have a habit of flipping through random anime pictures, or fanart pictures, and sometimes I get ideas for characters, but nothing for like a setting for them... And with the mermaid thing, I have a thing for mythical creatures(plus gods and goddesses, more specifically the greco-roman ones.) Except since there are so many different versions of how the mermaids work I just pick and chose what I liked. So mine has the ability to take a human form and walk around on two legs. She does have the siren's song(close cousins and all) she can communicate and manipulate the aquatic life, as well as the waters. She's not really the powerfull enough type to control the weather, which some have said they could do. I haven't tried elves, have tried vampires, neko, angels, kitsunes, some humans with special gifts, one that doesn't have any magical gifts to speak of. And at the least a demi-goddess.

Athilea Majiri 09-18-2010 11:25 PM

I've played a lot of different types of characters in many setting. As far as my knowledge. I really really love fantasy setting. I have not studied it though. I'm just a fan.

Now, what sort of role play were you thinking? I really cannot play male characters, I just do poorly with them.

I love mythical creatures as well, Greco-Roman, Egyptian, Asian, Viking, all of them. >.> Yeah, I'm a little obsessive. Greco-Roman, Egyptian and Viking style mythology is my favorite though.

AmaniIshtar 09-18-2010 11:30 PM

Egyptian gave me a headache, but I have a friend that loves it.

I'm not too sure on the role-play, dead certain anyway. Did you have a favorite character you wanted to play? Once I know that I can match up and "plan" accordingly. My friend 'Nix thinks its funny how I start our solo-rps >.>

Athilea Majiri 09-18-2010 11:33 PM

I know someone else that solo role plays. I can't really do that. The closest I come to that is doing short stories about my role play characters.

Hrm....I usually make characters up on the fly. But I had always had an idea for a mermaid type character in the back of my head. Her name was Innovien. Might do that since you seem more comfortable with that.

If you want we could always double as well. I don't mind playing a male character as long as I can also have a female.

AmaniIshtar 09-18-2010 11:48 PM

I'm not good at males either. So the double is up to you. Land or aquatic setting? I do write a lot of scenes, never complete ones anyway, plus I've been known to take some of the rps he and I partake in and try to turn them into story scenes.

My Mermaid is a recent creation, in a "separate" underwater world, with I'm not set on how many different Kingdoms, there are 3 currently set, Pandoris of the Shark people, Atlas (which is where my mermaid is from), and Atlantis, which is like the melting pot and trade route area. Everybody has gone through Atlantis. My mermaid is known as Princess Aria Tsunami, youngest of 6 daughters to a prick of a king. She disagrees with him a lot and eventual ran away from home, somewhat lived in the human world for a few years, then opened a Cafe/dessert shoppe in Atlantis with a human she took in(which I won't play, that one is my friends. I could never do him justice. Though if you wanted to join a group-rp, I already set up a thread.)

Athilea Majiri 09-18-2010 11:55 PM

Oh, now if there is a group role play for that then I could certainly get into that. It would make our little non male playing dilemma a bit easier, I think.

AmaniIshtar 09-18-2010 11:58 PM

It could. I've been getting antsy in it since not many are on like I am so they don't respond right away...>.> But then again its just started...

http://www.menewsha.com/forum/commun...onderland.html <thats the link to it.

Athilea Majiri 09-19-2010 12:01 AM

I'll check it out.

Looking through it though, I see that we are to pm you about a profile, but I don't see any, nor do I see a link to an ooc thread that might hold said profiles. Do you have something set up for that?

AmaniIshtar 09-19-2010 12:05 AM

Yea I'm still a little new to this stuff. I don't normally start them on my own.

http://www.menewsha.com/forum/commun...-profiles.html

Plus I get a little absent-minded. ^_^;;

Athilea Majiri 09-19-2010 12:08 AM

I understand completely. Thank you for the link.

AmaniIshtar 09-19-2010 12:10 AM

No problem^_^ You can have more than one character if you so choose. Lovely Kry is actually debating introducing a second one that he and I had already established as Aria's fiance, but the only reason he's debating it is because his character has a habit of molesting "pretty, beautiful" people.

I almost want to convince him to do it, just so I can get some laughs out of it. but I don't think others would share in my humor.

Athilea Majiri 09-19-2010 12:38 AM

I think it would be funny. I am working on finding something I like for the role play.

AmaniIshtar 09-19-2010 12:42 AM

Thats cool. Take your time. ^_^

Athilea Majiri 09-19-2010 12:32 PM

Thank you, I should have something sent to you later today.

Athilea Majiri 09-28-2010 10:20 PM

This idea has been claimed by another role player. Removed to prevent confusion.

Starling.Blackwood 09-28-2010 10:23 PM

I would be more than both willing and eager to do a fantasy-genre rp with you.

I actually have a whole world setting we could use, and it's not set to any particular series or game or anything, but it has the whole elf, humans, dwarves ect thing going on.

You might like it, if you're interested in a onexone private rp with me, send me a pm.

Athilea Majiri 09-28-2010 10:59 PM

Yay, I sent you a message.

CosmicFoxKitty 10-11-2010 12:59 AM

D: I don't know any of those TT^TT Do you know Naruto?

Athilea Majiri 10-11-2010 01:02 AM

I do, but I don't like it. It doesn't have to be a predesignated setting though, we could just come up with something on the fly.

CosmicFoxKitty 10-11-2010 01:06 AM

Ohhh well I like the naruto characters in the modern world which sounds weird and not many people like.
I love when they are in school... especially the sakura + Akatsuki... I'm thinking about making a group one but everyone seems to hate naruto TT^TT I love school based ones though for some reason.
I guess it's because I can make it to where it's not like real school in a way, like a dream school lol :D
