You have to make sure the facebook widgets are turned on, then under the very first post in the thread, you will see a little rectangle box that says Like. You click that, once you've liked the thread, hit your print screen button showing that you liked the thread, save the image, PM it to either Lestat or Vixen (you'll find their names throughout the thread) and poof, you are done.

@Gary: That's a far better statement of concern. And I understand that completely. I assure you that those who are doing the refering will keep this in mind. But some of us still feel that some newcomers should get a nice jump start too.

I just don't want to see this whole thing turn nasty. I'll admit that if it was me, I would probably come off bitter and spiteful. I don't want any form of ill feelings among anyone on here. Not over something like this.

I did post in the contest thread to see what the staff thinks about if giveaways are fair and if having a banner in the signature is allowed. I don't think I saw where they were very clear about their thoughts on giveaways.

Unless they are asking where to find a certain thing, I rarely will link someone to a thread or such.

Man I had a busy night. xDD

As for the newbies, when I started Mene one year ago, I was overwhelmed by the lack of starter clothes, and grew even more agitated that it seemed so hard to make gold here. HOWEVER, it quickly became apparent to me that most of the members here are incredibly generous, and more often than not, they will toss gold your way, items your way, and do whatever they can to make your stay more pleasant.

Would you be upset if I randomly showed up in a thread in Fresh Meat and tossed a newbie 500 gold?

I would have been ecstatic. Besides that, with the posting gold increase, and the games gold, it is really easy to get enough gold to get items now anyway, so I don't see where it would really upset the balance by having a new member here to do this little trick for gold, why should it be limited to just older members?

Newbies have a right to see what every other menewshan gets to see.

With that being said, I do agree that it is wrong to just pop into someone elses thread and overwhelm the newbie in question with a random advertisement for this thread. That shouldn't happen at all, even if it was for something totally different, because that is rude. Whoever may have done that should be ashamed of themselves, but I guarantee most of those advertising for this contest are doing so either in their own threads, threads they regular, or in their signatures, where these ads belong.

I am sorry, for everyone, if someones actions made the thread look bad, but I assure you, it is not the entire thread. :heart:

Well... if honestly, afetr some newbies quit after I gave them lot, I am a little reluctant to helping them much, too, unless I have a sure feeling they're staying, but I don't have anything against them.
