Hello

"Heard about this place from a friend. Names Terisa."

Demondog5 10-02-2010 09:54 PM

Hello Terisa and welcome to mene
hope you have a good time

Terisa 10-02-2010 10:23 PM

"Seems a bit hard to get gold here."

rawcookiedough 10-02-2010 11:45 PM

It may be a bit harder to earn gold here than other sites but it helps mene keep a focus on what it wants to focus on. Community. That's why chatting is the easiest was to get gold. The more you socialize, the longer your posts, the more you have.
But you can also get 250 gold a day from games.

Terisa 10-03-2010 03:34 AM

"That makes sense. But the gold is based also on the length of the post? Never seen that one before."

rawcookiedough 10-03-2010 03:40 AM

It is. You can make up to thirty gold on one post.
If you shorten your post, you lose gold. If you make it longer you make more.
Every character adds up.
We don't make any gold on the word games forum though, because if we did it would encourage spam.

Terisa 10-03-2010 03:44 AM

"Hmm slight spamming to make gold. Odd but I like it. Most places it's the other way around. The games is where you make more gold than posting. It's nice to see that talking to everyone helps."

rawcookiedough 10-03-2010 03:48 AM

Yea, Menewsha does strive to be different from other avatar communities from what I hear.
When some new games were introduced chatter on the forums went down because it was easier to make gold with the games.
So the amount of gold you could make from games went down - possibly temporarily - to encourage more chatter.
From five hundred a day to two hundred and fifty.

Sunshiney 10-03-2010 03:51 AM

Yes it is very hard to make gold, but that makes it all the more fun~! Fffff, look at my avatar. I know what I'm talking about =_="

"I come from Gaiaonline. The difference is clearly shown between the two sites easily. This will just take time for me to adjust to it like I have to Gaia."

----------

"But I did notice that this one is similar to Subeta. The two sites strive more in little games and more community action than Gaia. Gaia is more about it's game and little about the random events lately."

rawcookiedough 10-03-2010 04:12 AM

I have never really been on Subeta.
But the difference between here and gaia I can understand.
I haven't been there in a while though.

Terisa 10-03-2010 04:13 AM

"I'm still there mostly because of the close friends I had gained from it. But the lack of... quality in the items the staff have been making has pushed me more and more away from being truely online. I do love Gaia but they are really losing the people they have gained for many years now. Myself included."

rawcookiedough 10-03-2010 04:16 AM

Yea, I left quite a while ago.
I'm not sure if I should go back and give away all the items and stuff I had or not. =/
They were slipping a lot in their desire to please everyone - and thus repeating a lot of items- and also make money off of it.
I rarely saw new items that weren't cash shop items.
So I went *poof.*

Hatake Ayumi 10-03-2010 04:17 AM

/pops in
Didn't they also change the format of the forums recently or something?
And that airship event was somethin' awful... in my opinion.
o ~ o
Yo! Welcome to Menewsha Terisa!

Terisa 10-03-2010 04:22 AM

"That air ship event would have been better if you didn't have to answer stupid questions and made sure your food was not going to leave your crew dead."

"The Cash shop, lost about I'd say 2 percent of 2003 players. Over the months, they have been losing more of the later people than the 2003 ones. I was from 2004. The cash shop will not leave anytime soon but you can work it to your advantage on selling the items from it to get the older items of Gaia."

"They changed the layout I think this week or last week. I find it more annoying because I lag terribly with those add's running on and on in the background as I'm trying to type or look at something."

rawcookiedough 10-03-2010 04:24 AM

I rarely see advertisements. I use firefox and have the adblocker add-on.
It's great. Sometimes I look at a page on a different browser and am kind of disgusted by the number of advertisements though.

Terisa 10-03-2010 04:26 AM

"How did you get that blocker? I use Firefox too and I still am able to see them."

rawcookiedough 10-03-2010 04:32 AM

It doesn't block all advertisements. Sometimes I do see some, but they are rare.
Adblock Plus: Save your time and traffic
That site should walk you through everything. (:

Terisa 10-03-2010 04:34 AM

"Your my new Hero here. Thank you for the help. With Gaia and the sites I go to for anime, it's a pain to have to see them all the time."

rawcookiedough 10-03-2010 04:37 AM

Haha. It was purely accidental but you're welcome. (:
I know what a pain in the butt they can be.
I can't stand seeing them when watching tv on the internet.

Terisa 10-03-2010 04:38 AM

"Try going to anime sites. I went to one and it had up over 5 different adds on either side of the video." Smiles.

rawcookiedough 10-03-2010 04:39 AM

Haha. Oh wonderful.
Apparently that's what it is like on a few sites I go on for shows like Dexter and Buffy.
I didn't know that until I tried them on Chrome.
It looked nasty. D:

Terisa 10-03-2010 04:42 AM

"If you don't have a way to get rid of them, it gets ugly trying to watch something on that screen. The adds suck up to much space and memory to do anything else on the page and so you slow down... even if you have a fast connection."

rawcookiedough 10-03-2010 04:44 AM

Yea. I'm not sure which is worse.
A moving or colourful advertisement being a distraction.
Or the advertisements slowing down the speed.

I love my adblocker. =3

Terisa 10-03-2010 05:15 AM

"Looking at Gaia with it now... Oh my god... what a difference that is."

"Thank you very much for it."
