I didn't know that. Mobs can really pick up weapons now? o.O;

I wish the bats dropped bat meat or something. As weird as that sounds, but hey, if you live in a world with only a few sources of food, you'd want almost anything. xD I'm surprised we can't eat the squid.

Yeah I read it in the update that mobs can wield dropped weapons.
Maybe they should drop meat scraps, combine 9 to make a chunk of bat meat for food

I've noticed that the bows that skeletons drop seemed to actually be used now instead of brand new. That's interesting.

Yeah, which means that they are an actual item now :3

I love the bats falling around. It actually makes mining more interesting.

It will indeed... and you can kill them passive, so you don't have to worry about them fighting back

Yeah. One hit and they're dead.

They'd be a mining nuisance though, whacking them instead of the block [lol]

That's actually what happened when I was mining! It made me so sad that I killed one ><

I killed one out of curiosity, then I was sad when nothing came of it and I apparently killed it for no reason.

... FOR SCIENCE!

I went into creative and went on a playing spree for a day... many bats were killed that day...

and yes... FOR SCIENCE!

Also I like how they can fly, though they tend to stay lower to the ground.

I wish life wasn't so busy so I could veg out on minecraft all day

Okay they do not in fact pick up items it seems :( sadness that would have been epic

I haven't played Minecraft in ages. Because I can't play it on this laptop I go for months without visiting it at all, then I'll disappear and play on it for a whole weekend. [ninja]

I noticed the last time that I played that it had become an awful lot easier to find things. I dug down to the bedrock and started clearing an area, and found six diamonds straight away. Lost them all by the game freezing up on me but meh! It unfroze and the screen jumped a bit, and pitched me straight into lava >_> But I found 4 more later on, I was amazed.

Also found a stronghold on the same map, and a village on another. Neither of which I've EVER found before.

Yeah, it's really nice to actually be able to find stuff now!

Still yet to find a stronghold on my own.

I have done more research and testing... and yes some mobs DO pick up and equip weapons and armor. amazing way to disarm a skeleton is to throw him a wooden sword and hope he's one of the 10%

Also picture frames are a great idea for storage instead of using signs to say what is in a chest
