@admonished-
I guess I will let you off this one time. Only because I am so incredibly reasonable. As for the shipping, I don't think you can. So I would be waiting all patiently, nice and patiently only to get my heart broken. :( @serena- That sounds really awesome and sweet of you. :) |
Ser - I hope you enjoy your time with Mike! He better like the CDs and he better apologize! Grrr... A song all about vodka does sound very European.
I never know what to get for birthdays or Christmas so I always overspend on a load of little things, hoping one of them works out x3. I need to learn to lean towards the $30 limit. Crimson - Being reasonable is totally not reasonable. Well, I'll drink this cup of tea (I'm a coffee addict so I stray away from coffee) in your name. Or we can pretend it's coffee. Do you like cream and sugar? I added cream and sugar. |
Last year for his birthday I did something similar. I found cds of bands he liked. One of the cds I got based off of his youtube playlist (I subscribe to his page) and found the cd thathad the most songs :D

@admonished-
I was about to say I have been pretty good with addictions lately. For a moment I was quite proud of myself too. Then, unfortunately, I remembered that I have recently been hooked on chewing gum. I have my coffee with sugar. I don't usually have it with cream anymore. I used to quite like it as a treat. Unfortunately during the previous Christmas/New Years period we were given a lot of free cream. I was turning down free cream for about two weeks as I had already taken way too much. You would show up to work and see a sign saying you could take up to eight bottles of cream. I can not even get through one bottle in a week. @[email protected] @serena- Haha very nice. My ex gf does a similar thing for me with books. The book I am currently reading while posting here is what I got this year. :) |
I started him on a new series a couple years ago. He's interested in necromancy, and he likes book series where the necromancer is not the bad guy (like Garth Nix's Abhorsen series). Since the new book by Nix won't be out till next year, I started him on another series by Gail Z. Martin (the Summoner series). I got him the first book. He likes it, gotta get him the 2nd one soon.
|
@serena-
Are you a genie? As you are sounding like an incredibly generous and well awesome person right about now. Not that I am trying to say you didn't seem so earlier, just that it is more so now. o.o |
Loved the Abhorsen series. ^.^ I would kill to see more books in that series, or a movie. ^.^
|
@Crimson: I just like to try to get gifts for people I care about that they would really like. I spend time looking for the right thing. ^^
@Ely: Same here. He read them years ago, I borrowed all his books and read all 3 of them in a little over a month. I think I read somewhere that Nix was coming out with a 4th one next year. I'm planning on pre-ordering it the first chance I get for us. A movie on it would be awesome. I would definitely see it. |
@Ser: Last time I looked the 4th book was just a "possibility," so it's nice to hear one will actually come out. ^.^ I can't remember how that series ended, unfortunately, though. Gonna have to reread it, at least from the second book on.
I thought necromancers were so cool after that book series, just like you said Mike did. Ya know, if you want a similar concept a good book is "Eyes of Crow" by Jeri Smith-Ready. |
Yeah, his official website still says that it will probably be a 2013 release. Lets hope so. We've all been waiting ^^" It's supposed to be set 300 years before Sabriel. ^^
ooo I should look into those books. He might enjoy those. (me too ^^) |
Ahh, darn. A prequel. I have never been a fan of prequels. I suppose I'll still have to give it a shot because it's Garth Nix.
I've only read the first, but I loved it, and you know when you remember a book four years after reading it that it was good. [yes] Tell me if you read it, I'd love to hear if you like it. ^^ |
Yeah, I know how that goes. Though I do remember the series and stuff from it. I just forget what goes with which book sometimes. ^^"
|
I have that issue with a lot of series that I've read.
Being that I somehow end up discussing Twilight with people, I can use that as an example here for how badly I forget what's in what book. I know all this stuff happened, but not where. |
Yeah. [sweat]
most of the time I just tell people to read the books themselves [:P] |
I'm ready for this semester to be done.
|
Same here. I want it to be winter break and relaxing time.
|
This has been a hard semester for me so far. I guess I'm just looking for things to be different in a better way now.
|
Ser - I love Amazon wishlists too. The entire gift process because so much easier.
Crimson - I can't say I've ever been a fan of chewing gum. It gives me terrible headaches, the jaw movement, the smell, the sound. Brrrr. That's a lot of cream. I would have started cooking left and right. |
Nobody about today, I see. :(
I'm just at the homework. |
I'm tired and this is the perfect week to have a small mini break.. Ya know.. Like my university did. :( I don't get to have a "break" till November... for a few days.
|
I'm nobody? D: *Hides away*
Ser - Maybe a bit of a relaxing weekend would be the perfect break? |
I get a couple days off next week. I have to spend them studying and working on stuff, though. I get Tuesday and Thursday off because my teacher gave us those classes off for various reasons.
It's too bad it's THAT class, because I like that class. Would much rather it was one of the classes I didn't like, but no. ---------- Post added 10-10-2012 at 07:02 PM ---------- @nonsense: You were neither online nor talking to me in the last post! XD |
Just joking x3. I dunno, for some reason half of the time I don't see myself as "online". I bet it's a conspiracy.
That always stinks when the very class you want to go to is the only one you don't have to. |
That does suck Ely so I can take another special topics course I can do Russian History, A course on Chairman Mao, or one on Chinese medicine(these two depend on which one students prefer)
|
Hmm, I find it amusing that I didn't notice this thread bopping about until just now.
I've gone and graduated (real world here I come! >.<), but I suppose I can relate well enough to the topics at hand to be of some use here, if you'll have me. |
