I'm debating taking down the lights I have up now in my window and putting the purple ones up.. Or mixing.

ElysiumFate 11-11-2012 02:35 AM

Depends on what color you have up there already. It could be really pretty mixed.

LonelyOtaku97 11-11-2012 02:37 AM

Lol I see you guys are excited for christmas.

serena yuy 11-11-2012 02:42 AM

Currently I have the multi-coloured lights up in my bedroom window

Oh I am soo excited for Christmas... Already got the christmas music playing and lights up. Can't wait to get more decorations!

ElysiumFate 11-11-2012 02:47 AM

Yeah, Christmas is a fun time of year. :)

serena yuy 11-11-2012 02:48 AM

One of the things I'm planning on doing for my niece and nephew is having a letter sent from Santa in Rovaniemi Finland :)

ElysiumFate 11-11-2012 02:50 AM

Lol, you and Finland. XD

LonelyOtaku97 11-11-2012 03:00 AM

Lol well christmas is nice :) I'm kinda worried I won't be able to get presents for my family though so its kinda sucky.

serena yuy 11-11-2012 03:12 AM

I don't expect anything from some of my family because I've come to expect not much of anything. Especially now since everyone is so fawning over my 21 yr old cousin and his pregnant 19yr old girlfriend (they've been together since she was around 17 I think).
I don't mind not getting any form of recgonition or anything because I have my niece and nephew, so I expect more attention on them. But, I'm a bit put out sometimes because I'm in school busting my ass to make sure myself, mike and our children won't have a crappy childhood/christmas.

Anyway, end rant.
I love Christmas. Gives me an excuse to get all childish again and all giddy.

I'm gonna be that person who goes crazy with christmas decorating ^^

ElysiumFate 11-11-2012 03:42 AM

Lol, you really don't like them, huh?

Their life wont' be easy, rest assured. Getting married so young and having a kid. Though, one shouldn't wish bad on others.

Bound Birdie 11-11-2012 03:47 AM

:( why do corporate pencil pushers not give a crap about the people that makes them there money?

ElysiumFate 11-11-2012 03:55 AM

The chick didn't get demoted?

serena yuy 11-11-2012 03:57 AM

Dislike my family? yeah. I at times do. ^^" It's horrible. I never wish bad on people. I just hope the two of them know what they're getting into. I mean come on.. Both of them are EMTs. They don't make THAT much money (though they should)

@Bound: All they care about is if they have their paychecks.

Below is the result of the addition of the purple lights to the coloured... Looks like Christmas vomited on itself. [shock]
btw, I do still have to fix it up a bit. It's always a work in progress.

ElysiumFate 11-11-2012 04:01 AM

@Ser: Mostly I just meant the pregnant girl and the guy. But yeah, I get it. You're doing all this hard work, but they get the attention because a stick went into a hole and produced a child that they may or may not have wanted. And yeah, EMTs should get paid more for what they do. I couldn't do that job.

Also, I like it. :) What do you have them stuck to the window frame with?

Bound Birdie 11-11-2012 04:05 AM

Yup and instead our only REALLY (russ doesn't really count to me XD) good manager (like only had two days of red for a whole month) put in her two weeks instead and our BEST employee hands down is leaving now to.
The thing is if he cared about his bonuses (which are biased on if we make green or not) Kristen would be out the window because she NEVER makes green so financially speaking she's dead weight so what's the point of keeping her? Oh well on the plus side she demanded her cush opening shifts back so I won't have to deal with her and Russ no longer has to do baby sitting duty.

oh venting aside I do love the x-mass vomit XD

serena yuy 11-11-2012 04:08 AM

@Ely: eh, I can deal with them to an extent. I'm close with my cousin kind of... But I have moments where I dislike the girlfriend at times. Considering I'm not surprised she's pregnant...

I used tape... Lots and lots of tape ^^"

Bound Birdie 11-11-2012 04:13 AM

is it supposed to be an exact shape Ser?
I think I see a design in there

ElysiumFate 11-11-2012 04:14 AM

@Birdie: Well that sucks. Like royally. At least you don't have to work with her...and maybe you guys'll get a new good manager in replacement of the one that put in her two weeks? And a new good employee perhaps. You can always hope anyway.

@Ser: How come you're not surprised she's pregnant?

I wish I could use tape to put stuff up. It's been a law in my house forever that I can't put tape on the walls or woodwork. XD Parents. Oh well. It's made me more inventive--hooking light strands to the edges of woodwork and pulling them taught so the'll stay and junk.

Bound Birdie 11-11-2012 04:23 AM

Not likey we have been a manager short for almost 4 months, that's why "can't afford to lose her" I dunno about Amanda she has had some ups and downs. I'm hoping me and Russ can just get her moved to our shift and she won't quit if she won't have to deal with her. Which would be great really, we all used be together when I was training but then after I started holding my own Dom took her and put her on mornings because it was "to much power" on one shift.

What about on the actual glass pane Ely? It removes cleanly there rather then on the walls where it will pull up paint and stuff. Or what about Museum glue? That stuff is AMAZING!

ElysiumFate 11-11-2012 04:31 AM

Oh, I've definitely utilized the "tape shit to the window" trick. [rofl] It just doesn't look good sometimes, and I'm OCD about that stuff...even though I am a messy housekeeper. XD Wth is museum glue, though? The blue stuff?

Your boss sounds like a brilliant man. [sarcasm]

Bound Birdie 11-11-2012 04:40 AM

It's normally clear but it's just a nice solid adhesive that just rolls up when you rub it quickly. One of the crazy old ladies I used to know used it to keep her cats from knocking over her delicate nick nacks. Not sure how much it cost, but it does work for sticking to pretty much anything without leaving any permanent marks

Well I can understand you want your best people evenly distributed so that one shift doesn't ruin everyones day. But Amanda is 100% done doing all the opening for kristen so he's going to have to figure out something

serena yuy 11-11-2012 04:44 AM

I usually use the 3M hooks, but, I need to buy more ^^" Once I buy more, I'll re-hang them.

Eh, I was having this discussion with my aunt's boyfriend's daughter last year about it. Last May (2011) my cousin's girlfriend was pregnant (unfortunately something went wrong and the embryo didn't stick where it should have). The convo my aunt's bf's daughter and I had, at one point we agreed we wouldn't be surprised if by the end of the next year (so now this year) my cousin's girlfriend would be pregnant.

ElysiumFate 11-11-2012 04:45 AM

Huh, I've never heard of such a thing, but it's an awesome idea. The way that lady used it, you could do the same thing in a house full of kids to semi childproof things.

Yeah, just sounds like he doesn't want to.

Bound Birdie 11-11-2012 04:48 AM

well if at first you don't succeed try try again? Especially if she was happy with the attention she got from it :(

@ely I just saw it at the container store website for about 10 bucks :) I don't think the jar was very big but I do know it's reusable so I'm sure it would still work for X-mass decor

ElysiumFate 11-11-2012 04:48 AM

@Ser: Ahh, yeah, one misstep tends to lead to another, I suppose. I wouldn't want anything to do with a child this young.
