Hey there, my lovelies!!! How is everyone? Just finished my second test and everything to going good for now.
|
Eek! I find out what schools accepted me in about 10 days! Starting to get super antsy!
|
Oh, that sounds super exciting....yoga is evil.....
|
Yeah - I basically know that I've been accepted to the one that's my 2nd choice, but I'm waiting on pins and needles (well metaphorically only of course) to hear back from the other. (I only applied to 2 schools.)
I tried to get myself into yoga, and never could. xD Horse back riding used to be my form of relaxing myself - I'm getting back into it start Saturday, well not riding, but working with horses. :) |
Just got out of Bio lab and I got my grade already from this mornings test. Who made the highest grade and set the curve for everyone else?? This girl right here!!! 100, baby!!!!
|
I wouldn't be bragging about that in your class, Mehi. People'd hate you for that. XP
But good job anyway! |
It's always nice when you get your grade right away XD
I'm always worried when I am the first one done with test. I am always looking to see who else is done and will wait till at lest on other person hands it in |
I do the same if I'm done early, but usually I'm done about halfway through when people start leaving.
|
Sad now. Mike left this morning when I got on the bus for work at 11.50a :/ I was dreading this day coming starting on Sunday because this week was just so awesome and relaxed and we both seriously needed a week like this.
|
I just had my wisdom teeth removed. The experience was... interesting. Laughing gas is pretty fascinating. Only three hours later and I'm feeling pretty good.
Elysium - I enjoy musicals. I've seen Les Miserables before at the theater in London, was really good! I think I liked the Phantom of the Opera better though. Oooh. A speed boat would be fun. Boats are a lot of maintenance though. wagon - As El said, I believe she wanted to become a librarian. |
ElysiumFate: Yeah it was awesome when I finally finished my prereqs, but I missed it too because they were so easy compared to the upper division classes :O
admonished nonsense: Sounds about right, she even said so herself a few posts back. I was quite surprised to learn about the master's requirement for librarians, but it makes sense after reading serena yuy's explanation. Also, wisdom teeth extraction was quite an ordeal. Did you get all four removed at once? I remember everyone I talked to telling me how painful it was, but I never really had any pain issues when I got mine done. For me, the annoying thing was being on a liquid diet for a week afterwards and learning to chew around the gaping holes in my mouth >_< |
Eh, I'd like to be a reference librarian in an academic setting (like a college). But, if not, I'll be fine working anywhere else that would need an information type person who can do research and teach people researching skills/help people research
|
@nonsense: Ahhh, I do love Phantom of the Opera. I think visual wise I like Phantom better, but Les Miserables' story was on par with Phantom's to me. I would most likely choose Phantom over Les Miserables if I had to, though.
Yeah, the boat takes some maintenance but it's not bad. My dad and I always split it every year. I'll go out a week or so before we want to take it out and give it a thorough cleaning, and then my dad will go in and dewinterize it which I've never heard him complain about being difficult. He's a very mechanically inclined person, so the maintenance that other people bitch about is a cakewalk for him. |
sorry I'm like rapid fire distracted posting but I saw Phantom of the Opera some where and must say that I LOVE that musical and I've seen it several times and once was even on Broadway! The chandelier crashed into the audience and I was like EEEEK AHH OMG [squee]
|
Tsk, I'm so jealous of you now, Birdie! I want to see a live performance of the Phantom so bad. They just never come around here, and if they do they are sooo expensive.
|
I saw them in Toronto! It was awesome! I loved it even at 11yrs old. :D
|
There's the Boulder dinner theater that does an pretty lovely show of it. You get to sip wine and eat fancy dinners by candlelight and the show takes place around you. People sing like right next to the tables and fog would come out of the back of the house and flood down through where we were all dinning down to the stage and it settled like knee height. Even without the chandelier crashing it's still just as cool as the Broadway one :) and I wasn't even old enough to drink then XD I think I was like a freshman? and then I got to go to New York as a sophomore with my girl scout troop and I was like WE HAVE TO GO! lol that's what our cookie money went to XD
|
Wagon - Meh, I don't think college is needed for every profession. We're moving away from apprenticeships to college education, and I think the former for many careers is far better for everyone involved.
Ouch, you must have had it bad. I heard all the stories too, but mine was nothing. I fell into a peaceful sleep breathing in copious amounts of nitrous oxide, awoke feeling refreshed, and with the surgery complete. I was able to walk right out and to the car. The bleeding lasted maybe an hour. I actually just had fried chicken... the most painful part of the surgery was the IV going in. I haven't even bothered to touch teh Vicodin yet. Elysium - Me too, either way they're both masterpieces. One may be better than the other, but I'd see them both over and over again. I'm glad it isn't too much for either of you. How often do you use the boat? That's the part that'd get me, having to do so much just to use it. |
Then get like a little boat like a Kayak XD Me and Russ have a pretty decent inflatable raft we use out at the bay (really more the river and the delta because my puppy can't swim that well so I have to make sure the water is super calm) but yeah 30 mins of bleach in the tub each time you use an it's good! You have to be a bit careful to not pop it so like no super rapids but enjoy a leisure float and russ can still use it to fish for salmon so we are happy XD
I saw Les Miserables about the same time as phantom but WOW I know it's called the Miserables but its story line is super depressing. |
My dad let off a couple tears for Les Miserables, and that man NEVER shows any emotion.
@nonsense: Depends on the summer. Typically it gets used from late May to late August in our family, and if it's a good year we take it out every Friday or Saturday all summer long. I absolutely love going out on the boat, have ever since we got it when I was little. I'll seriously miss it if I ever don't have one in my life. |
yeah well I cry easily with movies and I tend to think that's a little over emotional of me. So when the girl died I was BAWLING
Oh wow that's way more often the I go rafting, me and russ found a rather good secluded spot out by our wedding site though so we may give that a try as soon as summer rolls around :) |
I cry at some movies. I've never outright bawled at a movie--usually I just have to turn away from everybody for a minute and wipe away a few tears. >.> I actually didn't cry at Les Mis at all (/hardened awful person XD) But I did shed a couple in the end when Jean died and Fantaine was there telling him it was okay to go. XP
I'm very reality based emotion wise. If it doesn't seem real to me it doesn't scare me (like zombies), or if it's overdramatic it doesn't make me cry, and Les Mis is just a TAAAAD overdramatic. Especially when Cosette falls in love by glimpsing a pretty boy through a gate. We didn't get out much last summer (I had summer school and it was HOOOT) but usually we go out a lot. I love it, and it's not like it costs that much money, unlike waterparks and stuff. We have the boat, so we just put gas in it like three times a summer. |
lol see I am over emotional because I have caught my self tearing up over commercials, so it's not like I'm even taking it seriously. I dunno I am prissy in that way where I cry or throw up really easily.
Nothing fictional scares me though I might look back to the computer if it's super overly gruesome or any kind of rape seen though, I really don't like those even if they are fictional. Indeed! That's why I love summer time, 40 bucks in the tank to get there but everything else is free! Even my sneaky free camping spots |
Haha, awh. What kind of commercial? XD
I have a pretty sensitive gag reflex. I can't even brush past the front half of my tongue or it makes me want to throw up. Some scents really get to me, and some tastes. I also can't stand watching anything overly gruesome. Like, I can sit through walking dead, but when they're mass feeding on a single person and ripping them to shreds/pulling out organs, I can't do it. Gotta fast forward. LOLZ, camping should be free, really. But yeah, I usually throw together a big old cooler full of sodas, water, and lunch, and we go spend the day drifting around on the lake. |
Well there have been some that were kinda dumb, but I do remember losing it over one where I saw a bear with a ring threw its nose and mouth to keep it from opening it's jaws to far.
Yeah, smell, touch, taste, sound, sight, anything can set mine off, coughing to hard XP Russ does all the gross stuff in my life [t2h] I don't even clean the trap at work XP Yup we generally air everything out and give the cooler a wipe down night before and then we head out stop off for gas and at the grocery store and load up on ice and food for like three days and just chill there for a while. Maybe spend 10 on morning coffee in an adorable sea side town so I can charge the computer and such :) I can't wait till it starts again XD if you can't tell by my avi |
