@Saro: Goodnight and good luck tomorrow!
I may have to look into that. I'm pretty pale myself and have a hard time finding shades that match well. Drives me crazy! These were taken 9 hours after I put the stuff on so the colors are faded. Hot pink and a metallic red for eye shadow but the liner lasts FOREVER. I love it. http://i53.tinypic.com/6o0t5g.jpg http://i53.tinypic.com/e7fbqg.jpg And in the bottom one, the liner on my lower lid was completely faded or it'd look better. |
Oh, that is absolutely gorgeous! I have never been good at doing that "winged" eyeliner trick. I suppose I just need practice at it. My eyelashes always get in my way, lol.
I've been looking for good pinks (specifically hot pinks) and reds in eyeshadows. What brands/colors do you use? And what's the eyeliner? Mine never lasts when I use it. Oh, and yeah. It's a good foundation. I've tried a lot of them, so I feel safe recommending them. Your skin also looks about as pale as mine, so I'd say it'd do you good. I use the 110 Ivory. |
I have long eyelashes too so usually it can be annoying to pull off but this liner makes it easy! It's Maybelline's Lasting Drama gel eyeliner. It comes with a little brush that's much easier to use than I ever expected. I use the blackest black color and only need a little bit to get it super dark like in those pictures. The brush also makes it easy to pull off those wingtips :) This actually only my second time using it!
For eyeshadow, I use lots of different ones. My favorite pinks are by L. A. Colors (yes, that cheap stuff - it's insanely pigmented) and Hot Topic's eyeshadow. HT's stuff I usually apply using my finger so lots of color goes on my eyelids. Reds can be extremely difficult to come by, the one I used (and it's been my favorite) is from a palette by Profusion. I picked it up at a store call Five Below for like $5 and it came with a good 36 colors total, all highly pigmented as well. I always get metallic shades because they add shine. I know HT has a red as well but it looks more like a matte brick red which I didn't care for and thus didn't buy. Awesome, thank you! :) For now, I've been using a foundation compact which is okay but not ideal. |
I will definitely look for that eyeliner and those eyeshadows. As per the cheaper eyeshadows being highly pigmented, I have a friend who is an aesthetician and she has always told me that the cheap makeup is almost always just as good as the expensive stuff, if not better.
I don't like powder foundation. It's always looked flakey on me and just rubs off. |
As a broke college student, I always try the cheap stuff first  I actually have a nice collection of eyeshadow going and nothing has cost more than $5. They're fantastic, last all day if you use primer on your lids and a good deal even if you don't, and are easy to replace if something happens to it. Profusion's stuff can be harder to find but even their website is decently priced.
Profusion Cosmetics Corp. : Profound Cosmetics Corp. 909-591-5678 Yeah, that's what bothers me the most about it. Just always been afraid of liquid stuff for some reason. |
Ah, dang flabbit. Now I'm going to have to hit up Profusion. I scrolled down the page a tiny bit and there was a palette with both the red and the pink I was looking for, lol.
You know, I've never been able to find a primer that didn't cost mega bank...it's like the brands they sell in regular stores just don't make it. I've only ever heard of the $25+ primers from MAC and Urban Decay. Really? The issue that I have with liquid foundations is that the stuff stains clothes like all hell if you happen to spill the shit. I had to oxyclean that crap to get it out of one of my corsets and one of my expensive business shirts. Even bleach didn't work on the white stuff...Shout didn't either. |
Wal-Mart now carries a makeup brand (I forget what it's called) that sells primer for like $6. I haven't had a chance to use it yet though.
Holy shit! Good thing I always do my foundation while shirtless - I hate having the dust from the compact fall on my clothes. I'm going to head to bed though, I'm sleepy...And probably skipping my classes tomorrow haha. |
I need to find that. My friends are always giving me shit for having Zebra eyes because my eyeliner moves about, lol.
The powder should come out, but the liquid definitely lives in Pain in the Ass-ville. Alright, goodnight. :) Still twenty minutes until I get to sign up for classes, so camp I will. |
Buh, doing internship work. Got 24 hours left to do.
|
Hi everybody. :) How goes life? Mine is good. I think I did well on my test today, and I hung out with a friend of mine, who is... well extremely hot. Though I'm sure nothing will come of it, hanging out with hot girls is always fun. lol.
What did ya'all do? |
Internship stuff. Starting a blog as a hobby for when I graduate as well.
|
Shiny. I hear they're fun to do.
|
It took a good while to set up but I enjoy writing my first entry.
|
Writing is fun. :) I like short stories, but I really want to write a novel. Can't seem to get groove for one though. lol.
|
I never finish anything I start if it's a longer piece so short stories are best for me. I'm just usually too lazy or lack the inspiration for them.
|
Understandable. People think somehow that writing is easy. lol.
|
And those are the kind of people I want to slap. I also dabble in song writing and that's a pain in the ass on its own.
|
Ah. I wrote a couple, but I don't think they're any good.
|
I really only write when I enter a writing contest.
|
I write stories all the time. I find it fun, and relaxing. :)
|
My English Comp. professor had a poster that always made my day and described writing perfectly. It said: "Writing is easy, good writing is hard, excellent writing is excruciatingly painful and exhausting work." God, I loved that teacher. I miss her so much.
I love writing...and I'm more a of a long novel kinda gal. Or series, take your choice. I also want to start a blog someday. I think it would be kind of a diary thing where people could read about my thoughts, ramblings, and experiences. |
I have a personal journal on my laptop that I haven't updated in ages. Lots of anger in it.
|
My favorite quote about writing, "The difference between the rite word and the almost right word is the difference between lightning and a lightning bug." Mark Twain.
I love that quote so very much. :) |
Fireflies <3
|
*facepalm* lol. Silly thing.
Know what's an awesome song? Somebody, by reba. I love it. :D |
