lol. Most of what I wear is brands you've most likely never heard of. I buy stuff that's either super comfortable, cheap, or very sturdy. My socks are comfortable, and the only brand that lasts more than like a week on me. lol. Wigwam makes a dandy tube sock.

For shoes I like converse because they're cheap, and somewhat sturdy. Also pretty comfortable when I put insoles in them.

ElysiumFate 05-16-2011 12:23 AM

I have a knack for picking something up and knowing almost exactly how long it'll last before it wears out. I'm especially good with shoes and purses...I can spot crap leather, materials, and stitching from a mile away.

I'm pretty gentle on my clothing, but I have never been able to go even a single day without ripping a hole in my stockings if I wear them...I gave up on them long ago.

sarofset 05-16-2011 12:27 AM

Lol. I imagine I couldn't wear them anything really tight feels like something is grabbing me. I do not like it. I can't even wear tight shirts like some guys do. I feel odd in them.

ElysiumFate 05-16-2011 12:31 AM

Frankly, that's a good thing. Those tight shirts rarely look very good on guys no matter how buff they are.

sarofset 05-16-2011 12:34 AM

I'm skinny. lol. Germans don't build muscle. We stay wirey. lol.

And thank you. :) lol.

ElysiumFate 05-16-2011 12:42 AM

Why the thank you?

I've always preferred wiry/skinny to mega buff. The uber buff guys make me feel...um...diminutive? And uncomfortable. I've got a thing about being dwarfed by people, no matter the gender. That and their brains tend to diminish exponentially with the amount of muscle they obtain. Lol.

sarofset 05-16-2011 12:51 AM

See I find that complimentary. lol. As I did with the shirt thing.

Might not have meant it that way particularly, but meh. :)

So how is your evening going? Mine's pretty good.

ElysiumFate 05-16-2011 12:57 AM

Haha. It's the truth. :) I've never understood where some women get off thinking Fabio, Scwarzenegger, and Stallone were attractive in their days. I don't care that you're buff, I care that you take care of yourself.

Tonight is going well. I lounged around all day except to get up and make dinner for the family a couple hours ago. I've spent the last few days doing nothing but watching Spartacus online and trying to figure out what exactly I'd like to do for my birthday this Friday.

sarofset 05-16-2011 12:58 AM

Well that all depends on how old you'll be.

ElysiumFate 05-16-2011 01:05 AM

 I'm only turning 19. I'm most definitely going to go see Pirates of the Caribbean 4 (cause I'm a POTC freak and it's coming out on my birthday :D) but I don't know whether I want to invite more friends to come with me or stick with the one friend and the rentals (my father loves POTC, too, and it's kinda a tradition). Other than that I don't know what I want in ways of a cake. I'm stuck between a cake, a tart, or a cookie cake. Then I don't know if I want to go down to Denver or not to go into the art museum on Saturday. I looked up the exhibits and I'm not liking the looks of the artist collections they have, but I still would like to go once. *shrugs*

sarofset 05-16-2011 01:14 AM

Well Cake is what I'd go with out of those three. Chocolate, with gnash and dulce de leche. :)

as for who to invite I always just have a couple friends over. I don't really do much for my birthday, and I don't really like parties. lol.

ElysiumFate 05-16-2011 01:22 AM

Oh, I know. I got turned off of throwing parties years ago when I realized that most people don't give a crap about how much time it takes to put them together. I love just being with the people I like--a couple I know will show up unless it's the death of them that's the alternate.

Age is just a number to me. Always has been. I'm as old as I want to feel...and really, it's just another day passing by. What's the big deal about throwing a huge celebration for it? "Oh, look at that, another year closer to my nice, long, dirt nap. :D"

I kinda want a specialty cake...hopefully I can find a good one this year. A couple of years ago I got a Black Forest Cake totally unaware of the fact that those cakes are soaked in Brandy...yes. I got drunk.

sarofset 05-16-2011 02:58 AM

...They should be soaked in kirsch. lol. Schwarzwaldkirschtorte is the full German name for it.

...I'm a food nerd. lol.

ElysiumFate 05-16-2011 03:10 AM

Lol. My gawsh. Did you have to look that name up, or did you write it from memory?

sarofset 05-16-2011 03:16 AM

Memory. I speak German. ...I don't have a giant vocabulary, but I do know the grammar and enough to get by. And of course how to ask what something is in English. lol.

In English it's black(schwarz) forest(wald) kirsch(kirsch) cake(torte). Kirsch is a cherry liqueur.

ElysiumFate 05-16-2011 03:23 AM

If it weren't for the fact that I hate the taste of liquor I'd totally be all over that. I love cherry.

sarofset 05-16-2011 03:30 AM

liqueur not liquor. lol. things like baileys or Kahlua.

`Kitami 05-16-2011 03:31 AM

I can't wait for my birthday. :eager:
I can't actually have my party on my birthday, because its thanksgiving, but the next night, Kita will be taking her mother, sister, and her best friend, and Kita is probably going to get legally drunk for the first time.
We'll have some of that Schwarzwaldkirschtorte.

Saro:: Cool that you can speak German. I can sing a song in German. My dad thinks he can speak German, but he fails.

ElysiumFate 05-16-2011 03:37 AM

Lol, either way, I'm pretty much a teetotaller. I dislike the taste of anything with an alcohol content excepting a select couple of wines.

sarofset 05-16-2011 03:41 AM

You can't even taste the alcohol... not that you should technically. lol. nineteen. But hey I aint a cop, and frankly I did it. lol.

Anyway I mostly prefer wine. I enjoy desert wines the best. Don't understand anyone who really digs dry wine. It tastes like bitter and alcohol. uch. I'd sooner use it to clean a cut than drink it.

`Kitami 05-16-2011 03:42 AM

I like wine.
And mixed drinks.
I don't like, drink all the time, or anything though. I have drank maybe twice in the last two years? I don't plan on drinking all the time after I turn 21 either. Its not healthy.

ElysiumFate 05-16-2011 03:44 AM

Lol. I don't really believe in this "don't drink until you're 21" crap. My dad has been letting me have alcohol since before I can remember, and my grandmother got me flat drunk at eight. I love my family sometimes.

The wines and alcoholic drinks I do like don't taste like alcohol. I just hate the flavor. What I don't understand is beer.

sarofset 05-16-2011 03:46 AM

I know right? It tastes like wet bread. yuck. I can't stand it, and light beer just tastes like... stale piss?

ElysiumFate 05-16-2011 03:50 AM

Mhmmm. I think that's a kind way of putting it, too.

sarofset 05-16-2011 03:53 AM

lol. Nice that someone agrees with me.

My current favorite is port. :) It's sweet and delicious. Though it's kinda strong so you can taste the alcohol.
