I don't like old movies very much, either, to be honest. I find the acting stiff, emotionless, and overdone.
I'm just watching it to see what people of an older generation used to like, really. ANNNNDDD, I just found out how hot Marlon Brando was as a young man....:D |
As for old movies... Casablanca is one of the only ones I really like. Of course anything with Bruce Lee, but that's not that old right?
|
I think Bruce Lee stuff is considered old. :) Anything before my time is considered old to me, lol.
The only old movies I've been able to stand are "My Fair Lady" and "Gone With the Wind." |
really? Gone with the wind? Really?
|
Yes...I take it you don't like it?
|
Bad acting, boring plot, I don't like the musical score...
All opinion of course, but still this is how I see the movie. Stagecoach was about as bad. |
This is going to be one of those things I don't argue about, lol.
Oh God. Sixteen and Pregnant. Shoot me in the head. Why does T.V. suck like this now? |
I don't like Gone With the Wind either! :D
I was watching 16 and Pregnant or Teen Mom the other day (I dunno which) and it was actually really touching. |
I get really disgusted by those shows...I can't help myself.
|
Well, if you want reality TV, that's it. Teens get pregnant everywhere, all the time.
|
Well, I can't remember the last time I liked anything labeled "reality T.V." so that doesn't help my views. Well, pop-culture reality T.V. I like documentaries quite a bit, though.
I can't stand it....it's glorifying something that's a bad thing 90% of the time, and most of the time it's only touching because they don't show the "five years after" when the parents hate each other and resent the baby for ruining their life, or the poverty that they're likely to experience. Again, it's a generalization, I know. But it's the most likely outcome, that's for sure. |
Its more of a stereotype than a generalization. :/
I know girls that were pregnant as teens, that are wonderful mothers. And I only know one boy who wasn't a good dad. |
Obviously different people than I've met, lol.
|
I know there's bad teen mothers and fathers, but there's bad mothers and fathers all over the age spectrum. :)
|
Very true. Very true.
One day left of my summer. Not happy, but I'll survive. |
Oh damn. :(
I'm sorry for you. Summer isn't even here yet! I can't freaking wait to swim!! I could probably now, but I'm not 100% on the water temperature. I could have went to the pool in like three days, if the park/pool hadn't got blown away last week. :stare: |
I know that's a really sad thing and not meant to be funny, but it still made me laugh a little bit.
Don't be, it's my choice, lol. I'll definitely be looking forward to next summer though. |
Lol. I say really stupid things sometimes. I happened to be walking by that pool today. Ok, and there's no water. So, I said "Where'd the water go?" And my mom stopped, turned around and said "A tornado went over this pool. It sucked the water up." all the time with this expression on her face like "seriously? did you seriously ask that?"
 |
Lol. Don't worry about it. I say some dipshitted things sometimes, too, and every now and then there's an extremely obvious joke that I just don't understand. For example, my dad got this shirt:
http://im2.ebidst.com/upload_big/2/9...621-9875-0.jpg And it took me MONTHS to figure out why people kept stopping him and saying it was so hilarious. One day we were out shopping for some things, I glanced over at him, and doubled over laughing my ass off. I think it took me getting my license and hauling everybody else's asses around to fully appreciate it. :XD |
Omg. Did you ever like, hear someone tell a joke when you were a kid, and you never got it, and then you heard it when you were a teenager and you were like "Oh. ....OH!" And then you either laughed or got creeped out? XD;; |
Yeahhh. I remember thinking that all the shows my parents watched when I were little were idiotic, and now I go back and watch them and I get all of the perverted jokes in them, and I laugh like crazy. I was watching re-runs of The Nanny several months ago, and I remember being so happy about being older because I could appreciate the humor now.
|
Shows, movies, and just things that were said.
Like, we had a pair of hermit crabs named Itch and Scratch. When I was seven, I was very proud of them. When I was 14 and had my first "sex and all the bad things that can happen to you if you have it" class in health, I was like "Omg, we had crabs." and I was totally weirded out. :gonk: |
 Hahaha! Did you think the crabs could give you crabs or was it just the coincidence that creeped you out?
|
That, my parents had their names as a joke and I never got it. And then when I realized that two of my pets were named on a joke about body lice, I was like OMG! One of those moments where something dawns on you and you're like "Whyyy?" :XD
|
Duuudddee. I'm sooo doing that to my kids somehow when I get older! I'ma be the weird awesome parent like that.
Have you seen this yet --^ I died of cuteness when I saw it. |
