Vix Viral 07-29-2011 05:51 AM

hmmm contemplating having a small bowl of cereal for a little snack. ^^" mmm kookie krisp :)

ElysiumFate 07-29-2011 05:54 AM

Hahahaha! Okay. Okay. Yeah, there was some pretty good funny music back then. I do miss that style.

Vanilla Ice and Depeche Mode make my day.

sarofset 07-29-2011 05:55 AM

Talking 90's music?

I freakin love Semisonic!! And people only know one of their songs. FFS. lol.

Vix Viral 07-29-2011 05:56 AM

Vanilla Ice was amazing!

@Saro: The only one I ever liked

serena yuy 07-29-2011 05:57 AM

Semisonic was pretty good. I liked a few bands from the 90s, though I mainly stuck with rock and new wave. ^^

Vix Viral 07-29-2011 05:58 AM

My favorite 90's bands were Slow Roosevelt - I believe they made it to the early millennium - and Mutha's Day Out.

sarofset 07-29-2011 06:00 AM

They only ever played one song by Semisonic on the radio, and that was "Closing time"

They have a lot of good songs. lol. I'm pretty sure you'd like "Chemistry"

Vix Viral 07-29-2011 06:01 AM

The only other one I remember part of the name of was Mix Tape. I liked the lyrics but didn't care for the actual song.

serena yuy 07-29-2011 06:05 AM

I'm still an Offspring fan. I like Blind Melon. Trying to think of some other bands I like from then.

Vix Viral 07-29-2011 06:06 AM

The Offspring are EXCELLENT.

serena yuy 07-29-2011 06:07 AM

^^ Mike surprised me with tickets to see them a couple years ago :squee:
Dropkick Murphy's opened for them. Best concert I went to ever! :squee:

Vix Viral 07-29-2011 06:14 AM

My best show was the last I went to because I got to see my favorite band and hang out on their tour bus with them. Such sweethearts <3 I wish I could have one!

ElysiumFate 07-29-2011 06:21 AM

I've recently discovered that I've always loved Korn and didn't know it. XD

serena yuy 07-29-2011 06:22 AM

mmm Korn was good :)

Vix Viral 07-29-2011 06:23 AM

Lmao really? I prefer their old stuff. Issues was the first album of theirs that I bought, actually. Hell, Make Me Bad is still my favorite song ever.

ElysiumFate 07-29-2011 06:24 AM

Mmm. Yeah. >.< I didn't really start liking music until I was a Sophomore in high school, so I'm still catching up.

Vix Viral 07-29-2011 06:25 AM

I always loved music but didn't have the means to get as into it as I am now. Hell, I wasn't allowed to go to concerts or anything so I went to my first one my sophomore year of college.

serena yuy 07-29-2011 06:30 AM

I grew up surrounded by music and I was in music since I was in 3rd grade. ^^ It was strange for me not to do anything with an instrument when I went into college. Which is why now I'm going to get myself an instrument to learn when I get my refund check from school in a few weeks. Even if I have to order the kantele when I'm at school. ^^

ElysiumFate 07-29-2011 06:31 AM

My parents are very overprotective, too. I have to fight tooth and nail for anything that I want to do, or at least I used to have to. I made it pretty clear when I turned eighteen that I didn't give a shit about their opinion unless I was truly doing something idiotic.

Anyway. The music I listened to had to be pretty much straight up cheery, non-sexual, non-violent, non-whatever the hell they decided they didn't like, for a long time. Then. I stopped listening to them. :D

----------

Music has become really important to me now. I'd say it's saved my life, or at least my sanity, a few times in the past year.

Vix Viral 07-29-2011 06:33 AM

@Ser: My parents tried to make me learn trombone. Too bad no one listened when I said I wanted to learn guitar!

@Ely: I always tried to do whatever I wanted so I listened to everything, watched anything, I just couldn't go to concerts and such due to lack of funds

ElysiumFate 07-29-2011 06:39 AM

Brass instruments are horrible...aka I wouldn't want to play one, not that they all sound bad.

I play the violin. It's a lot of work.

Money is the bane of life.

Vix Viral 07-29-2011 06:43 AM

I'd love to learn guitar and bass. I wouldn't be surprised if I focused on bass. A good bass line does things to my lady bits

ElysiumFate 07-29-2011 06:44 AM

Basssss. It's orgasmic.
