Facade: I'm not negating. It's a natural thing, and mankind has little if any effect on it.

YouTube - Water Vapor clip From "Global Warming or Global Governance"

YouTube - Lloyd rants about Global Warming Theory

These have some good information. Without showing you loads of data on ice cores, and whatnot (which most people don't really understand anyway) I can't really show you how the whole thing works. however since there is no actual evidence proving mankind's involvement it doesn't actually matter. None has been shown. It's true. Look for their evidence, and it's not there. What they show you evaporates( a pun) upon any scientific examination.

I don't really want to debate this because it's more of a religion than an actual scientific argument, and I don't deal with people who can't be reasoned with.

these help too.

This one I just like

You can disagree with me if you want to, but please don't imply that I'm dumb or ignorant (which do not mean the same thing) because I point out the flaws in the theory as it is being presented to people.

Thank you.

Something like English literature, or ...English history. If you can find a school that will do it for you. :) You could become an English historian.

Lol, thanks for that. You act like I've never heard that before.
And what is the difference between English and English Literature?

I see little difference between the Humanities degrees.

A degree is a degree, so long as it's a 2:1.

Nearly all degrees in England are 3 years, but yes, mine is 4 years, because I'm spending my 3rd year studying in Massachusetts.

Shiny. Have fun in the U.S. :)

Pearl 01-06-2011 07:41 PM

I want to study some broader stuff, maybe a language.

Preferably beginner German - I liked it at school but have forgotten much of it.

But I could take the chance to do a new language entirely.

TaiyoTsuki 01-07-2011 04:01 AM

Ah! Need a German tutor, Pearl? I learned it in high school, and I'm continuing it in college. I could always re-teach you!

Liquid Diamond 01-07-2011 04:27 AM

I believe my avatar can appropriately fit into this thread :D

(as well as me, since I'm 2nd year in college)

TaiyoTsuki 01-07-2011 04:34 AM

 Yes it can.

sarofset 01-07-2011 05:48 AM

Indeed. :) Good to hear from you. Please post a lot, as there is a lack of it. lol. I need people to talk to.

ljosberinn 01-07-2011 12:03 PM

Hmm, there was a German thread in the Menewsha Nation at one point, where you could just hang out and talk in German. I've lost it now though, all I have is the French thread. I've also got a thread where you can talk in any language you want, just if people feel like practicing. I know I could always do with more practice, but I'm a bit lazy. :c

Liquid Diamond 01-07-2011 01:22 PM

Definitely love you for making a language thread.

ljosberinn 01-07-2011 03:59 PM

Hehe, it's nice to feel loved. :P

sarofset 01-07-2011 08:33 PM

You good make a new German thread. If you can't find it, it's probably lapsed. Might be gone. Not too many people speak German.

BlackCart29 01-07-2011 09:28 PM

I've actually found a LOT of people study German - once I started to study it that is.

sarofset 01-07-2011 09:32 PM

It's like finding about a thousand people who play D&D when you start playing. It's weird, they just like... find you. lol. I love the game, and like half of the people I've met in the past few years play, and more than half of the people who didn't already play, wanted to try it. :)

Since starting German I have found a lot of people who do, and met even more, who "always wanted to"

Pearl 01-07-2011 10:40 PM

The German I'm most familiar with is... of the military kind.

I watch documentaries.

Kommandant, achtung, schnell, Deutschland uber alles, Juden...

Ooh. And "mein Handy", I love that xD

I can say normal stuff too. (Forgive my spelling, etc)
Guten Abend, mein Name ist Pearl, Ich bin neunzehn Jahre alt. Ich wohne auf England, es ist nicht sehr schön, und es heute regnet.

The bit about rain was a total stab in the linguistic dark, lmao xD;;

sarofset 01-07-2011 10:52 PM

Heute regnet es.

conjunctions usually kick the verb to the end of the sentence.

And schnell is not military. it means fast... or now in some contexts.

German is a fun language. French always sounds like you're... wilting... i guess.

It's very blah. I love German though. It has power to it. :)

Pearl 01-07-2011 11:06 PM

Yeah, I know what schnell means, but it's the kind of thing soldiers yell.

It's also a line in Blackadder IV: "schnell! Schnell! Kartoffelkopf!"

sarofset 01-07-2011 11:20 PM

Faster faster potato head. lol.

I love German. :)

Pearl 01-08-2011 12:59 AM

If I do take a German class, I might choose to not mention I took it for 5 years, and impress them with how quickly I take to the basic phrases. 8D

It won't be worthless to me though, I think. The intro class "imparts an active command of German" which will probably be useful to me.

It's hard to judge what kind of level I need, it's been nearly 4 years since I took a class, but I could converse a bit once upon a time.

ljosberinn 01-08-2011 02:29 AM

Ich bin ein Flugzeug und deine Mutter ist ein Kugelschreiber!

I will find the German thread!

...when my mind is clear.

fairywaif 01-08-2011 02:39 AM

I took Latin, but that was two years ago. I've forgotten most of it, I'm afraid. It's a dead language, but there are a lot of roots used for science terms, and I am planning on being a scientist.

Pearl 01-08-2011 03:03 AM

@ Ljos - I am an airplane and your mother is a notebook? >.> *wild guess*

TaiyoTsuki 01-08-2011 03:38 AM

It's official. I'm a nerd.

sarofset 01-08-2011 05:32 AM

So... I'm a giant nerd. I play video games, D&D, and other Rpg games. I read comics, and manga, I watch anime all the time. I'm on the internet all the time, and I write fantasy. ...I'm THE nerd. dude.

Pearl 01-08-2011 11:05 AM

I'm barely a gamer but like most people of my generation, I can use a controller.
Being a TV & film geek is my main claim to being a nerd. Particularly my tendency to learn large chunks of quotations, and be overly familiar with seasons/episodes/titles. (Anime and manga not included, lulz, but Calvin & Hobbes is)
I don't learn quotes on purpose, but if I watch something 3 times (once on TV, twice on DVD) I just pick it up.

Also I'm often uneasy when I meet new people, but I'm improving. xD I can now phone strangers without any qualms.

I would say my general ability to slip into fanaticism is what makes me a geek/nerd.

Buuut it's beginning to fade as I leave my teens.
