I have bipolar too! Luckily, it's being controlled by lithium pretty well. I have mild ADHD too.

Are your dogs lost in the snow?

TaiyoTsuki 01-28-2011 03:07 AM

I wouldn't be surprised if she was being serious, considering all the snow they've gotten. I'm assuming that you're in the New England states, Reine?

sarofset 01-28-2011 03:07 AM

I don't take any drugs for mine. It's controlled through meditation and concentration.

TaiyoTsuki 01-28-2011 03:09 AM

That works. And I'm assuming that it works very well.

sarofset 01-28-2011 03:13 AM

It does. I'm usually quite calm. I try to just relax in the mornings, and get a good start going on my day. :)

fairywaif 01-28-2011 03:14 AM

I ried it, but it takes a lot of disciplie. Good for you though. I could probably use meditating myself, to be honest.

TaiyoTsuki 01-28-2011 03:23 AM

I'd meditate, if it weren't for the fact that I get bored easily.

sarofset 01-28-2011 03:39 AM

Meditation isn't boring though. lol. You just gotta know how to do it.

BlackCart29 01-28-2011 03:46 AM

Mmm - I'm with Taiyo it's kind of boring.

sarofset 01-28-2011 03:50 AM

Then you're doin it wrong. XD Trust me it's actually really awesome if you know how to do it.

TaiyoTsuki 01-28-2011 03:59 AM

Well, if meditating includes blowing shit up on my computer then I'm all for it.

sarofset 01-28-2011 04:13 AM

Technically speaking, if you put enough focuse into it, to block out the rest of the world, it's close. lol. You just have to learn to use internal stimuli.

TaiyoTsuki 01-28-2011 04:16 AM

Yeah...there's too much going on in my head for that. I'll get into what seems like a good frame of mind for meditating, then some random thought will come floating by, usually a funny one.

sarofset 01-28-2011 04:52 AM

then laugh, and let it pass.

TaiyoTsuki 01-28-2011 05:00 AM

Again, my mind is the worst place to go for meditation.

sarofset 01-28-2011 05:05 AM

you gotta practice. eventually all of the crap falls out, and you can concentrate, on not concentrating. *grins*

TaiyoTsuki 01-28-2011 05:25 AM

....That doesn't make sense.......

sarofset 01-28-2011 05:30 AM

It makes perfect sense. :)

Ling 01-28-2011 11:16 AM

I'm surprised that I do understand sarofset's description of meditation. I've tried it in the past, and believe that if meditation is done correctly then it is an effective form of relaxation and finding inner peace and all that. Thing is though, unless I want to sleep I don't really find the need to concentrate on not concentrating, I'd prefer to be actively doing something that requires physical movement of the body without the thinking/concentrating and that's relaxation for me.

-redbows 01-28-2011 11:42 AM

hai. n____n
=not to butt in or anything but=

I've been considering meditation to help with sleeping.
I never have a problem once I get to sleep, I just struggle
with falling asleep, it can take me hours to fall asleep,
even when every part of me is utterly exhausted.

Ling 01-28-2011 11:46 AM

I sometimes do the whole blanking-out-of-the-mind thing when I'm having difficulty trying to fall asleep.

-redbows 01-28-2011 11:47 AM

I think that's the problem,
I can't let my mind go completely blank.

ReineDeLaSeine14 01-28-2011 12:51 PM

No I really do have four dogs...two Bassets and two Mini Dachshunds. We have about two and a half feet in the backyard...so high they could hop over our fences now.

Yes I'm in Connecticut.

I have trouble meditating too...can't pay attention long enough for it to work :D

BlackCart29 01-28-2011 04:58 PM

I'm just not really interested in it, I don't need it in my life so it ends of being a waste of time, you know? Like I don't have any issues I'm trying to control, or any problem falling asleep so whenever you have to do it (for like class or something) it just gets tedious.

fairywaif 01-28-2011 05:00 PM

I have trouble getting to sleep. Unfortunately, that's usually when I think of my best story ideas.
