The coding's gonna suck, but I enjoy photoshopping banners for some reason. Especially this Halloween inspired one, because I adore this holiday. ^_^

Both of my parents think that Halloween is evil and disgusting. I'm surprised they let me celebrate it at all.

Halloween isn't evil and demonic! It's getting to dress up in costume without getting in trouble and free candy!

It's also the only widely-known Wiccan holiday I think.

I enjoy most holidays. I dislike Easter, though. Always have.

Well, Taiyo, Halloween is based off of All Hallows Eve. We dress up to scare off the evil spirits that come back from the dead at night on said day.

It's also a time to remember the dead and show your love for them still exists although they've passed.

Well actually, Halloween is based on Samhain. All Hallows eve, isn't even a holiday technically, it's the night before all saints day.

Samhain was/is a pagan festival. It is believed that on this night the veil between our world and the spirit world becomes thin, and evil spirits can come through. The masks are so that they A. don't know who you are if they have ill intentions, and B. to scare off the others.

The deal with the carving pumpkins may come from traditional harvest lanterns.

@ Ely: I tend to not like holidays that involve gift-giving. I never got much on those holidays...well, that, and it involved a family gathering at my uncle's house, which usually meant that my bitch grandmother would be there. And the only gifts I ever get from her are insults.

Yes, well, it does also have to do with All Saint's Day, and the name "Halloween" did indeed come from "All Hallow's Eve."

@Taiyo: I am not a big fan of getting presents. My parents are those people who will give me everything in the world, and then guilt trip me for having it, so I'd just rather not get anything from them, or anyone else, anymore.

What I like about holidays is that no one fights (my parents fight constantly) and people make an effort not to ignore each other.

With my family, the more people present, the better. People don't like embarrassing themselves in front of the familia as far as my relatives go.

My dad, however, is a bit of an asshole. He thinks he's got everything figured out, and is extremely vocal about it in horrible situations. He annoys the hell out of me.

They were new neighbors. The poor saps didn't know what was coming to them when they put up that caution tape and those cobwebs.

I broke out the black lights and bloody sheets and blew them away. :P
