Yeah, I'm paranoid to have to start paying those off in a few years. But, I'm hoping I would be able to defer them after my 6mo grace period till I can pay them off. ^^"

Glass 02-22-2012 05:51 AM

I didn't even qualify for those. XD

I'll re apply when mom gets a job.

ElysiumFate 02-22-2012 05:53 AM

I'm going to have to let my cat roll in catnip tomorrow. She's being such a good girl. =3

@Saro: Seriously? I didn't know that FAFSA denied people. Lame government. >.>

@Ser: What do you mean by defer? Is there some deal where you don't have to pay them till you get a good job if you apply for it?

serena yuy 02-22-2012 06:01 AM

I might be nice and give Elijah some catnip tonight. I'm in a really good mood. Helps I just had cheesecake. My mom bought us a thing of 2 slices of cheesecake to celebrate. ^^

@Ely: Yeah, if I get ahold of them and prove that I am financially strapped, when I get my first bill after the grace period. Fedloan services will help you determine what would be the best payment option if you can pay. They will also help you by determining if they figure you need to defer them for a certain time period, or lower your monthly payments to a level you can afford. Just have to get a hold of them. (Sat through 30-40 min of a video and question answer session with the Financial aid guy at school)

ElysiumFate 02-22-2012 06:11 AM

I went and picked Mist up tonight and hugged her for awhile. She figured out I wasn't feeling too great and has spent most of the night lying on me. ^^ (More possible funeral talk. >.>")

:O Your mom was good today!? /sends her a proverbial pat on the back

That's pretty nice. I may have to deal with that one day myself since I'll be spending a lot of money to get my PhD, and won't be able to afford my own practice for several years after getting said degree (which is when I'll start being able to really pay for stuff).

serena yuy 02-22-2012 06:14 AM

Yeah, it's a pain to deal with, but it is helpful. I'm glad they'd do something like that. It's why I don't totally hate the government yet. Even though they keep screwing us who are going for our Graduate degrees and beyond by making us pay interest on our loans while we're in school. -.-
 Oh no. I'm guessing your grandmother isn't doing too well. :( I love kitties and how they can tell you're not doing good. Eli snuggled up with me a lot when Mike and I fought awhile ago. When I'm in a bad place he's right there snuggling.

ElysiumFate 02-22-2012 06:24 AM

Really? That's quite lame. Does your state do the thing where you get $2,500 of your tuition money back in a tax refund each year? That has really helped me and my family out. We're only spending about 4 to 500 per year for my tuition because of that. Of course, it'll be more next Fall due to my going to an actual university, but that 2,500 will pay for half of a year! ^.^

I still love the U.S. I'm a patriot at heart. I know we're far from being a perfect culture, but there are some things we have that I'd never trade for the European ways.

No, unfortunately she's not. Apparently she got rushed to the hospital emergency room a couple of days ago because she couldn't breathe. My family up north who's handling all of this really sucks ass at informing us of what's going on while it's happening. We live really far away, we can't read their minds, and it'll take at least two days to get there. I wish they'd inform us sooner.

serena yuy 02-22-2012 06:42 AM

Yeah, the US has its moments. My state has something similar to that, but only undergrad students qualify for it. The State Grant doesn't cover Graduate students. Which is depressing. Over the last year and a half I got so much money from the state and national government because of my grades and my economic situation. Oh well, I'll see what I can get for Grad school. Since I'm independent, I am possibly eligible for a lot ^^"

I'm sorry that everything is going bad for your grandmother. That's horrible of your family not to get a hold of you sooner. :(

ElysiumFate 02-22-2012 06:49 AM

I'm sure you're eligible for a lot. I need to start looking into those myself since I'm finally starting on looking into becoming independent over the next four years or so. I'll still keep my parent's insurance, but I'd like to do a lot of other things on my own soon.

Thanks for the sentiment. I'm good at not letting things get to me emotionally, but this one is effecting me because she was like my mother for a long time.

That half of my family is like that. Well, my whole family is, actually. Bad habits.

serena yuy 02-22-2012 06:54 AM

Yeah, you become an independent student the year you turn 24. At that year, you are no longer required to put your parents' information down for Federal Aid.

ElysiumFate 02-22-2012 07:08 AM

 Good info to know. I've still got four years before that happens, but planning is always good.

Anyway, I'm going to go watch last week's episode of Spartacus, and then hit the hay. I have a long day tomorrow due to all my homework.

Night, night. :D

serena yuy 02-22-2012 07:21 AM

Yeah, I'm kind of glad I started all this now that I need to get done. ^^"

Yeah, I'm gonna head to bed watching some Finnish tv in a bit. Night ^^

LonelyOtaku97 02-22-2012 01:15 PM

Good morning everyone :) how is your day going?

serena yuy 02-22-2012 05:28 PM

I'm doing good Otaku, waiting for my Grad school to send me more information so I can start getting my housing and stuff taken care of. ^^ hope your day is going good :)

Glass 02-22-2012 06:55 PM

Blah. I'm still a little sick, and now my mom is getting sick too. O.o Ugh! Stress is a problem.

serena yuy 02-22-2012 06:58 PM

That sucks :( Hope you guys feel better soon though : )

Glass 02-22-2012 07:00 PM

I'll be all better soon. Probably tomorrow.

I just hope she doesn't get as sick as I was.

serena yuy 02-22-2012 08:12 PM

Yeah, that would be a good thing. I'm lucky I didn't get sick yet. Oct-Jan were bad for me. I got sick at least once or twice a month. :/

Glass 02-23-2012 12:22 AM

She seems mostly okay.

We are having burgers for dinner. I'm putting some Queso on mine. :D

serena yuy 02-23-2012 12:27 AM

That's good. mmm burgers sound good. I dunno what I'll have for dinner yet since I have no clue what to eat and not that hungry yet ^^

Glass 02-23-2012 12:30 AM

That happens sometimes. :/

I'm starving though. lol. I'm not sure why. Probably because I've had no meat today. >.> It's a requirement for me. Has to do with blood type or something I'm told, but whatever, I'm hungry.

serena yuy 02-23-2012 12:32 AM

Yeah. I'll probably make something in 30 min or so. ^^" I ate a piece of bread back 4hr ago I think.

Glass 02-23-2012 12:42 AM

. . . You don;t really eat much huh?

I'm six feet tall and weigh 200lbs and it's all muscle, so I eat a lot. lol.

serena yuy 02-23-2012 12:43 AM

Yeah. I'm 5'2" and 187lbs according to my last appointment ^^" So, I've been trying not to eat so much crap. I haven't worked out in awhile because I have no access to a facility atm.
Haven't ridden my bike in awhile either. I know I should, but the weather changes a lot ^^"

Glass 02-23-2012 12:47 AM

My exercises require no facility. :) lol. I'm a martial artist. I just need space.
