serena yuy 03-06-2012 04:19 AM

Yeah. I've had that before. It's a pain. :/ Good luck with your stuff ^_^

serena yuy 03-07-2012 10:34 PM

*feels broke and bleh* ack, I need work. :(

ElysiumFate 03-08-2012 01:10 AM

Awh, I'm sorry. The interview didn't go well?

serena yuy 03-08-2012 01:14 AM

It's next Friday. ^^
I had a moment since I put money into my account today and realised most of it is going towards my housing deposit. And I started to feel a bit worried about the interview next week thinking that I'm not even going to get hired by even a fast food place :/

ElysiumFate 03-08-2012 01:17 AM

I thought it was later, but I figured I was mistaken.

*nods* I feel that way every time I buy a tank of gas. Somebody told me once that places hire people who are there at the right time, not whether or not they're qualified. Of course qualification has something to do with it, but you get what I mean. If they turn you down, it's not your fault, and it's their loss.

serena yuy 03-08-2012 01:27 AM

Yeah, it would be their loss because I am a good worker and I would be willing to stay with the company and transfer to a store out in the area near my school (if there is one I can get to)

Mike's internet crapped out tonight so I'm killing time by making cookies. ^^

ElysiumFate 03-08-2012 01:37 AM

You should tell them that you'd be willing to stay with the company if you weren't already planning to do so. It makes employers happy.

I just spent some time making egg salad for my and my dad's lunch tomorrow--it came out really well. ^.^ I'm studying for another freaking test right now. This has been insane lately.

serena yuy 03-08-2012 02:14 AM

Yeah, I probably won't tell them my plans of school yet till I had worked there for awhile. ^^ Once I had been there for a bit, I would talk to them. That or I wouldn't come out and say it totally. I'd probably mention that I am planning on working for a bit and seeing about grad school, and if I get accepted to UB, I would be interested in looking into transferring out to a store in the area if there is one while I would be in school.

yay! cookies. Egg salad sounds good atm, but I had eggs already and ate some cookie dough (darn you female issues). Dunno what I want for dinner. :P

ElysiumFate 03-08-2012 02:47 AM

I've had a hard time doing the job search because I keep coming up with life events that would require me to take a week off--possibly the week that I got hired. >.> It's been funeral and anxiety galore around here for awhile.

We haven't had any good food at my house for the last week. I've been having to cook meals from nothing because there aren't any ingredients around. I still need to eat some more, but there isn't anything appetizing.

serena yuy 03-08-2012 03:12 AM

Yeah, it's hard for me since I don't drive, so already I'm limited with distance. I'm limited with availability because I have to rely on my parents. ^^" I may have some issues because of my grad school dreams.

I've had time where we didn't have much to choose from. Especially since we're a little strapped for cash. Luckily my mom went back to work limited hours so she now has an income coming in ^^
yay cookies almost done. :)

ElysiumFate 03-09-2012 01:47 AM

It's Spring Break! /doesn't really care since she's got to spend it doing other crap anyway.

I'll never understand how they expect us to be full time students while still working, but I guess it is how it is.

That's good that your mom got to go back to work. :D

serena yuy 03-09-2012 03:49 AM

Yeah, I'm glad she's back at work.
Oh good! Enjoy your spring break :D

I don't get it either. Especially since I'll be in Grad school in the Fall and supposedly supposed to work to get money to pay for my schooling.

ElysiumFate 03-09-2012 04:14 AM

My ears are bleeding. Eastern European violin music is so high pitched. >.>

I'm probably going to be plowing through applications all Spring Break, but that's nice for me, actually--makes me feel like I'm doing something important. I am a little pissed that I feel like I can't apply to the Kohl's (department store, if you don't have them where you are) in the town closest to me because I walked in there and this guy from high school is working there that I never want to see again. >.>

I think you should have to work some--like a couple of days a week, but that doesn't cut it if you want to move out of the house. Yet if you do more, life is impossible, and if you do less, you're lazy.

serena yuy 03-09-2012 04:36 AM

That sucks about not being able to apply to the kohl's. I tried to apply to the one by me, but no offers. :/

Yeah, though I'm not looking to move out yet, still school. I'll try to get some form of job to work around 15-20hr a week while I'm in school. ^^

----------

I'll be happy once I move out of this house. I'm fine with living with my dad. It's living in this house with my mom and the dog I don't like.

ElysiumFate 03-09-2012 04:48 AM

There's a lot of supper youngin's working in the Kohl's around here, so I think I have a chance--I'm going to apply to one slightly farther away in the hopes of a job. Working with that dude would just make me feel super awkward.

I'm starting to actually think about moving out--in a year or two, that is. I'm tired of living so far away from school, and I want to be away from the familia. Seriously, tired of them. I'm just going to make sure that I'm able to support rent and such first, and have an emergency fund well saved up by then.

serena yuy 03-09-2012 04:53 AM

Yeah, I'm hoping I have some form of a chance with the job search soon. I'm bored and tired of not having a job. :/

Since I left the community college, I lived on campus. Best idea ever... except the dealing with the roommate from hell thing. But, it gave me the independence I needed. Now I'll be living in a townhouse on campus when I go to the school for my Masters in the fall ^^ I am looking forward to being away from home again. It kind of sucks Mike isn't trying to get in till next year because he needs to up his GPA. If he does get in next year, we can try to live together in the townhouse apartments on campus ^^ Which would be nice. If unable to because he gets into a different school, when I finish my Master's, I'll try to get a job near where he would be and get a place for us there.

ElysiumFate 03-09-2012 05:13 AM

I think what you did sounds like a pretty good idea--though I don't think I'd cut it living in the dorms. I admit it, I'm too prissy for doing that unless I need to, though I do like the community you get from it. I'm not sure what I'll do yet, I just know I want to avoid paying rent if I can--by that I mean I'd rather be putting money into a small house that I own than something that's just a money sink.

How is he going to up his GPA? Is he CLEPing out of courses or something?

serena yuy 03-09-2012 05:14 AM

I hated living in the dorms when I lived on campus at Fredonia. I hated it soooo much after awhile. -.- I didn't mind the community thing. Maybe you could see if there are on campus apartments that are charged through your student bill?

He's going to try to go back to school to get a second Bachelor's degree.

ElysiumFate 03-09-2012 05:28 AM

I've got limited experience living in dorms--I used to do summer conventions when I was in high school where we lived on college campuses for a week or two each year--and the major things that got to me were (A) the food, and (B) the bathroom and the garbage.

The bathroom was disgusting with four people sharing it, and people took to throwing full drinks in the trash, which I ended up taking out.

I've been considering the apartments, and they're on my list. They are something I'd have to pay for myself, too, though. My parents bought me a car, so I have to pay to move out no matter where it is.

And he's planning on doing that in just a year?

serena yuy 03-09-2012 06:03 AM

Yeah, I hated having to deal with the trash in the bathroom. It is hell having 8 girls sharing a bathroom (2 girls each room) and no matter what you ask or signs you leave asking to leave the counter clean and having no food in the sink to remember that our cleaner needs us to keep it neat so she can clean it right. Especially since a lot of us loved the cleaner we had (I'm friends with her on Facebook which is nice to keep in touch since I graduated)
I really hated it when people would puke in the bathrooms and almost miss. -.-

And yes the food sucks usually.

Yeah, I'm lucky where the school I'm going to has apartments on campus that are billed in my student bill and I can cover it with my aid. :) I have no problem sharing a 2bdrm townhouse with another female grad student. Hopefully we get along and become friends ^^

Yeah, since he already has a BA degree, he can actually get it done in a year since he already has finished the general education requirements for our state. So, he would be able to get it done in a year or a year and a half. ^^

----------

At least I think he would be able to ^^"

ElysiumFate 03-09-2012 06:09 AM

Oh, ewwwww. *shudders* I don't envy you the puking experience. I have no sympathy for drunks--I'll flip 'em onto their sides so they don't drown, but they can wallow in their own misery since they caused themselves the pain.

I've yet to figure out how they made the lasagna in that cafeteria so damned tasteless.

I get these big red dollar signs flashing in my head when I think about financial aid, or any kind of debt, really. But ya do what you've got to do.

Huh, so that's how people get all those bachelor's degrees? Crazy. I'ma have to remember that.

serena yuy 03-09-2012 06:15 AM

Yeah, one of the last few weekends I was at Fredonia, I wasn't feeling good when I woke up in the morning. I went to the bathroom and someone had thrown up in the trash bin. *dies*

I would like to know that too, how the hell do they make the food suck sometimes. Though I do give props to my university for having some food that actually tasted good. ^^ I look forward to seeing what the food will be like at the school I'll be at in the Fall. Though I'll hopefully be able to not rely so much on the campus food (I'll take one of the cheap meal plans) and hopefully have money to buy my own groceries at times.

Yeah, unless they double majored in stuff while they were at school. People would usually go back for a year or so to get another one. It's helpful if they stay in the same school system if they can't go to the same school. I dunno how it works going from a school in one state and going to another state.
I'm just thankful I don't have to worry about it. Tomorrow he wants to go to the Community College we met at to talk to an advisor to see what they say. If unable to, I'll suggest he should contact one of our former professors at Fredonia. I'm sure they'd be helpful, especially since it's Spring Break next week they won't be so busy.

ElysiumFate 03-09-2012 06:37 AM

Omg, that's gnarly. >.>

The college I'm going to next Fall has meal plans that include the cafeteria in the Student Center, and that place has all sorts of fast food places and some little offshoots of local restaurants. That wouldn't be bad--would've made me fat, though. Especially considering how much I love the Chinese place they have in there. >.> <.< >.>

I probably won't ever go out of state for college--now, I'd absolutely like to go study abroad for a semester, but that's a different story altogether. I may or may not stay at my college for grad school. It all depends on if I choose to stick with psychology, or if I decide I hate it there.

For a CC, my college has been pretty helpful with that kind of stuff, but why would he want to ask the CC about stuff to do with the Uni?

serena yuy 03-09-2012 07:15 AM

Yeah, the school I'm going to in the Fall has what you're describing. At least I think so. ^^" I will be surprised if I don't gain weight while I'm at the school this year.

Yeah, I want to stay in the same state so I get resident tuition which isn't too bad.

Because we can't get to the university we went to to talk to them and he thinks they would be able to help him figure out something. If anything I'll have him get ahold of one of the professors from our university (even though he'll be trying to get into a university near our city)

ElysiumFate 03-09-2012 07:30 AM

I've been trying to cut back on unhealthy foods lately, because I did gain weight over the last couple of years. I actually don't mind what I gained too terribly much, but the lifestyle bugs me. Also, it's probably just me, but I like having a little curve going on--being a stick makes me feel uncomfortable.

In my mind most colleges are the same with different names and prices. Most should be able to help. He could also send an e-mail to admissions if he wanted to. I did that last week for my Uni and they fixed me up right as rain. ^.^

Kay, sleepy time for me. TTYL. :)
