Well, you know, that withdrawal that internet addiction causes is worse than quitting cigarettes. ;)

Man, I hope you had some good shoes. I have a hard time staying on my feet that long.

Rusalka 04-15-2012 03:53 AM

I'm so sorry!! Mene's update system wasn't working at all D:

serena yuy 04-15-2012 03:54 AM

;) lol yeah. What's funny is I can go the day without thinking about checking my facebook or my phone.
Yeah, I do. I have insoles in my Converse. I bought gel insoles to help. I didn't even notice it till I finished ^^

Rusalka 04-15-2012 03:56 AM

The reason I have a smart phone is to be connected to the internet 24/7.

dessertdesiert 04-15-2012 03:57 AM

lol.. internet addiction... nobody wants to be at my house when the power goes out for a few hours >.>' my brother and me get mean according to my step-dad... but personally I think I am fine.. >.>' I am just bored and don't want to be with the family alot cause of family issues... >.>'

serena yuy 04-15-2012 03:58 AM

I don't have a smart phone. Though I have no problem with them. If anything, I am quite happy they exist because it makes it easy for the deaf to give us their order at work. I had a couple of deaf college students from NTID (it's the deaf institute at one of the colleges in my city) come up to my register today during our family&friends day at work today and they gave me their orders by showing me their phones that they had typed up their order on ^^

dessertdesiert 04-15-2012 04:05 AM

Interesting... >.>' I have seen alot of deaf programs lately and that is exactly what it is like in the shows. Then again it probably would be weird if I went to go see what it is like in real life.

Rusalka 04-15-2012 04:06 AM

I can't live without a smart phone honestly. Add on the chance to do random chatting with random strangers around the world is enjoyable. And reduces boredom.

Smart phones are very useful in the deaf community for that reason and the fact it gives them the ability to text, and ability to video chat to sign over the phone.

ElysiumFate 04-15-2012 04:06 AM

I like the internet, but mostly at night, and mostly in the winter. I like the sunlight and such, and usually would rather be outside or upstairs doing something than be on the internet all the time, but night time is lonely around here, and I don't have any siblings, so I talk to people on the internet.

I get real twitchy when the internet is out, though. Even if I have no reason to use it that day. It's just because my school runs through the internet, and I'd be dead if I couldn't check those assignments and such.

@Ser: That's awesome that deaf people use their tech that way!

dessertdesiert 04-15-2012 04:08 AM

I feel like I am left behind... I don't have a smartphone ... >.>'

Rusalka 04-15-2012 04:08 AM

I get twitchy when I don't use the internet for a while, even when I am bored of the computer and don't want to be on it.

dessertdesiert 04-15-2012 04:12 AM

interesting... i kinda get that way maybe but i always say it is cause i am bored and if I just play game on my wii or another gaming console I am good, however I must go to bed, nice talking to y'all maybe I will talk to you guys tomorrow goodnight

ElysiumFate 04-15-2012 04:14 AM

It's okay, des. I don't have a smartphone and have no use for one. :)

Yeah, the internet is definitely addicting, Rusa.

serena yuy 04-15-2012 04:16 AM

Yeah, I was complemented by one of the kids who came in from one of the Buffalo stores to help train us at this one. He was worried that I wouldn't have reacted the way I did. But, he was very happy I did what I did. Instantly when the first one handed me his phone, I took it from him, his order went away, I gave it back pointing it went away, so he brought it back up for me. The other kid did the same with his phone, he pointed out what he wanted different with his order. With both I wrote quick notes on the first available piece of paper I found.

ElysiumFate 04-15-2012 04:32 AM

Hahahaha. "Alton Brown's cakes don't rise, they ascend." Never seen that one before.

Huh. That sounds like an awesome experience. I'd be telling that story for months.

serena yuy 04-15-2012 04:51 AM

lol! Yes, I love that icon I have :)

Yeah, it was. The kid from one of the other stores was quite impressed by how I just reacted like that without thinking. I told him I have experience with being around those in the Deaf community from when I was younger. I'll definitely be talking about that for awhile ^^ I was very excited and giddy tonight when I was telling my family and Mike ^^ He was very happy when I told him and he told me I kicked ass ^^

ElysiumFate 04-15-2012 05:02 AM

I haven't had much luck with his recipes, but still, that dude was God back when he was on the Food Network.

Awh, I'm glad everyone else was proud of you, too. Is your boyfriend creature done being emo?

serena yuy 04-15-2012 05:19 AM

Yeah, I miss his shows. :(

Yeah, he's doing better now. He's now trying to quit smoking again. ^^" So, we'll see how he'll be soon.

ElysiumFate 04-15-2012 05:26 AM

Yuck. My sympathies to you. No matter how hard they try, most smokers are jackasses when they're trying to quit.

serena yuy 04-15-2012 05:50 AM

Yeah, he does turn into a bit of a jackass and I do understand as best as I can, but, it still gets to me.

Ugh... I can hear the 2 of them talking through the bedroom door in the living room. I'm in the living room and I can hear their conversation.... Wtf, I have work in the morning, does anyone even listen to me when I say that?

ElysiumFate 04-15-2012 06:00 AM

I has a purring kitty on my stomach. =3

Can't blame yourself for that. It's hard to have pity for someone that caused their own suffering.

Doesn't seem like it. My family goes stone silent at about 10:30 p.m. which is nice. No one here can sleep without utter silence.

dessertdesiert 04-15-2012 12:10 PM

When i am home it usually goes silent for us around 10, because my parents go to bed then and usually its only me and my brother awake and i normally go to bed.

serena yuy 04-15-2012 08:32 PM

@Ely: It was nice sleeping with the kitties... Till I woke up after 3hours and then ended up going in and out.

My mom is up till God knows when then she sleeps in till 1-2pm sometimes. -.-
I'm in bed by 2-3am depending on whether I work in the morning or not or if I'm really tired. I'm up by 10 every day no matter what though. I can sleep with a steady noise like a fan and/or Mike snoring.
But, I can't sleep through cats fighting and knocking stuff down.

dessertdesiert 04-18-2012 11:58 AM

You know what cats can do that is really annoying? Mine has jumped on me in the middle of the night right on my stomach. Was quite upset with my little furball.

serena yuy 04-18-2012 02:39 PM

awww that sounds cute what your kitty did, though I would be upset about that too. Lucky for me, Eli gets onto the bed on the other side and sleeps on his own pillow. Which is how we have been sleeping for almost a week now. I guess for all the cuddling or time with him close to me, I had to get a job and be gone most of the day ^^"

YAY!!!! Mene is back up!!! Omg I missed this place and everyone. I kept trying and checking if the site was back up all week. Hopefully everyone is good today. I am kind of tired atm, but have to get moving now since I have work in an hour ^^" Hope you all have a good day, I'll be back on later tonight (my boyfriend is picking me up from work today and we're going out for the night).
