Thanks ^^ I'm hoping I do well when I start ^^"

Johnny Hobo 05-16-2012 12:57 AM

I'm sure you will!

Especially if you enjoy it

serena yuy 05-16-2012 12:58 AM

I hope so.

Johnny Hobo 05-16-2012 12:59 AM

Well, I know so. 8)

serena yuy 05-16-2012 02:28 AM

Thanks.
Apparently my cat wants food. It's not time to eat yet. :p

YamiSora 05-16-2012 05:43 AM

Sora's dog and him have weird hours of eating........while his mother eats from 9am to 6pm, we eat from 2pm to 9pm. It's probably because we usually wake up around the time Sora's mom gets home. XP

serena yuy 05-16-2012 06:05 AM

Eli (my cat) eats around 11am in the morning and then at 11pm at night. I'll eat at 11am, between 3-5, and then l'll eat dinner around 8-9p, a bowl of cereal around 11p when I feed Eli.

Usually it's dictated by the fact I work from 11.30a-7p and go on break between 3.30-5p ^^"

ElysiumFate 05-18-2012 03:47 AM

Just got the internet back. *sigh* Gonna get home tomorrow.

Crimson Fang 05-18-2012 11:58 AM

I can finally post in this thread! :o

ElysiumFate 05-18-2012 03:18 PM

I'd guess that a congrats is in order then, since you must've gotten into a college. :D

Crimson Fang 05-19-2012 02:33 AM

In a way yes. I was studying at university but got kicked out due to my underwhelming academic performance. Earlier this year I sent a written appeal to regain entry and had it approved. As such I will be returning to university to continue my degree at the end of July. I will still accept your congrats and thank you for them, thanks! :)

serena yuy 05-19-2012 02:47 AM

*hugs Ely* How's everything going for you?

I kinda disappeared ^^" didn't post yesterday since I spent the evening with Mike, our game was cancelled so we relaxed at my house all evening ^^

ElysiumFate 05-19-2012 02:48 AM

Well, that's definitely a congratulations. :D Most people don't try again after failing the once.

I'm dealing with graduation stuff myself, right now, and I'm buying books for next semester. I hate that I'm paying so much for them. Even buying used books can't help me this time round.

serena yuy 05-19-2012 02:49 AM

Yeah, buying books for Uni was a pain seeing how much they cost at the bookstore compared to what they would have been if I got them off Amazon... But, since I didn't work and I had to rely on the financial aid thing, I had to get them at the bookstore. :/

ElysiumFate 05-19-2012 02:51 AM

@Ser: Eh. It's bittersweet, but mostly bitter. We brought home a lot of stuff from my grandma's apartment and some of it's nice (got a new flatscreen and some heirlooms) but even if you've been wanting the stuff for years, it's still just stuff, and you've still just lost a very important person.

I'm okay, though.

How is it going between you and Mike?

serena yuy 05-19-2012 02:56 AM

Yeah :/ I'm not looking forward to that when the time comes when my grandmother passes. I hope I have a bunch more years with her.
That's good you're doing ok, of course you know things will get better with time, just gotta make it through the tough times.

Things are better with the 2 of us. We had a surprise day yesterday where we didn't game yesterday because the game was cancelled due to finals week for the college students in our group, so we just hung out all night and had a really good time. Figured out the day off each week we want to take starting next month. Saturdays will be the "us" days ^^

Oh and I got my financial aid and was able to get my medical paperwork taken care of, so now I can register for classes. ^^

Thank you! For a while I wasn't sure whether or not I was going to try and return to study. I got kicked out at the end of 2009 and it was only this year that I decided I would definitely try to return.

I am not sure how I am going to feel about the book situation. I am in the beneficial position however of having a full time job. So money is less of an issue for me.

I find it really distressing how inadequate higher education policy can be in other countries. I wish you luck and hope it doesn't cause you too much stress!

ElysiumFate 05-19-2012 03:13 AM

@Ser: I hope ya do, too. :) My grandma was 95. It was time for her to go...and my uncle (her son) has cancer that we weren't sure we might've needed to stay in Iowa a few more days to go to that funeral just because it's so bad.....she wanted to go before him, and she was just tired.

Good, good. Sounds like you had a convo with him, then.

@Crimson: Yeah, that's a tough decision. I don't think I'm capable of quitting or leaving college and returning, so I'm just in it for the long haul.

That helps, for sure. My main issue is that my books are expensive, and I don't like selling them. I sold my math and science books (not my cup of tea) but most of my other texts I have a hard time parting with. I'm a psych major, and most of my books are thus psych books. It's a forever changing field, but the books are still relevant at this point, anyway.

serena yuy 05-19-2012 03:17 AM

Yeah, I guess the world works in weird ways with her going before him which worked out for her. Though it doesn't change the fact that it's depressing she left the world.
I'm hoping my grandmother is still around when Mike and I get married ^^

ElysiumFate 05-19-2012 03:22 AM

How old is your grandmother?

She pretty much decided to leave the world. I don't think people give enough credit to the fact that if people don't want to be here...they probably won't be.

serena yuy 05-19-2012 03:27 AM

She'll be 84 in August.

Yeah, I've heard of that with widows going within a few years of their husbands. I know very well my grandmother probably felt something like that for a little when my grandfather died in 97, but, she still wants to be around for a long time yet.

ElysiumFate 05-19-2012 03:36 AM

My gran lived 10 years more after my grandpa passed. She just loved everybody so much she didn't want to leave. I think, in my whole life, she's the only person I've ever met who loved others unconditionally.

Also, Adam Lambert's new CD came out. :)

serena yuy 05-19-2012 04:03 AM

Yeah, even though my grandmother does get to me sometimes. I love her and am blessed she's still around.

Oh yeah, it came out this week. I know Sonata Arctica's new cd came out today in the EU, I'm so tempted to listen to it, but, I'm being nice till the one I pre-ordered for Mike comes in next week (it's released in the US on the 22nd, so I'm thinking it'll be there for him either monday or tue)

ElysiumFate 05-19-2012 04:06 AM

My grandma had her annoying things, but there were way worse things in the world.

Mhm. I downloaded a *cough* let's just say I didn't buy it. I'll buy it eventually, but I wanted something to cheer it up so I found it for free somewhere. :ninja:

I wish I knew what this upcoming event was going to be so that I could make a banner for it.

serena yuy 05-19-2012 04:09 AM

Yeah, I wish I knew too ^^"

I usually download my cds and then buy them later. Or we actually own the cds anyway and I just can't rip them into my computer because I don't have a disc drive ^^"
