oooo I can't wait till we all make the trip to the Ren fest this year :)
I'm gonna get headed to bed, I'm starting to doze off. Have a great day tomorrow. I'll be on tomorrow evening when I get home :) Night

ElysiumFate 06-04-2012 04:06 AM

Awwh. Again, the subscriptions didn't show your post. Hate that. But, anyway.

Yeah, I didn't go to the Ren fest last year because I'd gone the three years before that, but I'd love to go this year. I haven't seen the jousts since the first time I went.

I'm trying to convince my parents to do a mountain trip this next Saturday because the National Parks are doing a free day on Saturday, and that's a big deal because that's $20 we don't have to pay to go into Rocky Mountain National.

serena yuy 06-04-2012 05:26 AM

Yeah, the subscriptions have been a bit weird lately. I never got any notifications during the event and since then. ^^"

I haven't gone in years, I think I last went in 2007. Yeah ^^". We're hoping to go with a group this year. I hope we do go, I think we're gonna try going in costume : )

Oh nice, hope you guys can go :) I finally have Saturday off. ^_^ I get to spend it with Mike after I go to a friend's bridal shower.

ElysiumFate 06-04-2012 05:35 AM

That's crazy. Maybe you need to resubscribe to this thread to get it to work? For me, sometimes the livechat thing doesn't work, and then I click out, but it doesn't show me someone posted because the subs think I saw it, but livechat didn't work.

I've gone in "costume" before. It was just a corset and a long skirt, but it worked for meh. I think I'll go as a fairy or an elf if I do it again, because the long skirt is too much trouble.

That's good. That's one thing I haven't done in years...gone to anything wedding related. Nobody in my family that's my age has any care in the world to tie the knot right now, and I'd be disappointed in my friends if they got married at my age.

Bound Birdie 06-04-2012 06:46 AM

I miss Ren fest :(
that is the one thing I do not get
I get a pirate festival instead
still good for corsets but not nearly as cool as the Renascence Fair, do they still have the one down in I think it was Castle Rock? They had tons of pre built period buildings and castles gates and what not, Oh I miss it, the closest one they have out here is Cali :(

ElysiumFate 06-04-2012 07:21 AM

Crazy. I thought they had Ren Fests in every state. BUT, let's see--it's in Larkspur, but it says all the lodging is in Castle Rock, so yes. Good memory!

And yeah, they have all the fancy buildings and such. I love the food and the jousting the best.......thhhhat, and they had one hell of a hot prince a couple years ago. XD

Bound Birdie 06-04-2012 08:05 AM

Nope :( which is odd considering we have lots of people that would love it. I think it's because there used to be a place called "enchanted forest" that had a campground and a place for amusement park rides and such but they went out of business. Plus there is one in some place called Canterbury Washington that has one that's not sooo far, but far enough I haven't gotten to go yet. :(
Oh that's right the mountains just outside, I remember castle rock because my mom ALWAYS wanted to stop at the outlet malls instead and I was like "there's so much better shopping THERE" XD
mmm I hate to say it but I used to chow down on the fried ice cream, I was just amazed how it was so hot and so cold at the same time XD I liked ... everything XD I always dressed up and played along.

LonelyOtaku97 06-04-2012 06:10 PM

@Bound: I've never been to the Castle Rock outlets although i've seen it alot on my way to Denver. The Renaissance Festival is coming up soon which I won't be going with no way to get there.

Bound Birdie 06-04-2012 10:19 PM

Well they suck xD your not missing much in my opinion, but I also haven't been there in many a year so I'm sure they'e changed.

I distinctly remember taking a bus out there one year, maybe you could find one? I've had to miss a few because they are so expensive, and I didn't want to be taunted by all the lovely stuff I wanted XD

ElysiumFate 06-04-2012 11:21 PM

Ren Fests are expensive? The tickets are only $15...but you're right, the things they sell there are sooooooooo crazy overpriced and I've never been able to buy much at them.

I don't like outlets. They don't cost any less, and they're out of the way...not to mention they feel skeezy.

serena yuy 06-05-2012 04:23 AM

Long day was really long :/
I actually was scheduled to work from 4.30-9.30, but I was asked this morning if I could come in early at noon ^^". I worked from 12.18 till 9.31 ^^" I found out this morning that I was supposed to be asked yesterday, but the manager who was in last night forgot ^^" He apologised for that when I busted his balls about it. I didn't mind since it was a clusterfuck yesterday.

ElysiumFate 06-05-2012 05:52 AM

At least you'll be getting that extra pay. Was this your last long day, or does it last the rest of the week?

I've been doing violin practice, and I found my family tree alllll the way back to 1815 today. ^_^ Just by sheer luck poking on the internet.

serena yuy 06-05-2012 04:43 PM

Yeah ^^" Though it doesn't really contribute too much unless I pick up some more time. My manager only has me scheduled for 19hr so I can take some extra shifts this week. She didn't want to schedule me with too much so I could without fear of me going over 40. Which I won't go over anyway.
The rest of my week so far is only 3 more days of 4-5hr shifts. But, I'll probably pick up some more shifts during the week depending on what goes on there.

Oh nice ^^ I wish I could find that out about my families. I only know parts of my mom's and not much of my dad's. We have someone on both sides looking up and putting together our family history (a cousin on my maternal grandmother's side. and another cousin on my paternal grandmother's side.)
We know about my maternal grandfather's side. And not much about my dad's family though because no one seemed to care.

`Kitami 06-06-2012 01:30 AM

I'd really like to learn stuff about the family members I never got a chance to meet. Like my dad's parents. My grandpa on my dad's side died the year before I was born, I think, and my grandma on my dad's side died of cancer when my dad was just 6 years old. The only grandparents I've ever known on his side are his step-mom and my great-grandma Pauline.

Imagination 06-06-2012 01:31 AM

Hey guys ^.^

ElysiumFate 06-06-2012 01:58 AM

@Ser: That's good. I'm glad it sounds like your managers respect you despite it just being a fast food place.

Yeah, what I really want is the paternal side of my dad's family. Hopefully I said that right, all this gets messed up in my mind even though I know what I'm doing. XD BUT, they're the side that goes back to Germany and Croatia and all that stuff. My grandfather fled to the Americas from WWII, and the name got changed....reallllly drastically...so it's messing me up. On the maternal side of my dad's family, I've gotten back to 1808 and squarely run smack into a wall. I either need a birth certificate and/or a really good string of luck on the internet.

@Kita: Yeah, I want to know that kind of stuff, too. I've gotten wind before of the idea that one of my great great greats was a captain in George Washington's army. That's who I want to get to. :ninja:

serena yuy 06-06-2012 02:58 AM

@Ely: mmhmm, I'm happy too. I came in today and my manager was talking with some of the others about how if they fail the secret shopper test on the register, then they won't be able to do that or something like that. One guy asked how many questions you can miss and still pass, she said one. I mentioned that I only missed asking about if they wanted a dessert and I passed it still. Then my manager (after the first guy elbow bumped my elbow) mentioned something about me passing and then that I was getting a gold nametag ^^ The guys around me were all happy for me and the first guy elbow bumped me again for it ^^"

ElysiumFate 06-06-2012 03:24 AM

Oooh, I sense some flirting. ^.~ Lol, just kidding, just kidding. But, seriously, congratulations. :)

serena yuy 06-06-2012 03:31 AM

Thanks ^^
So glad I am scheduled to have off tomorrow.

ElysiumFate 06-06-2012 03:42 AM

Yay! That's awesome. What are you going to do with your day?

I wish I had summer off, but with how notoriously lazy I am without motivation, this summer school is probably a good thing for me.

serena yuy 06-06-2012 04:01 AM

I dunno. If I don't get called in tomorrow, I have an entire day planned snuggling with my kitty cat and if I can, go do some grocery shopping. Maybe I'll look online and buy myself a pretty piece of clothing. : )

Yeah, I get really lazy during the summer if I have nothing to do. Which is why if I didn't have a job, I would volunteer at the library and spend a lot of time doing that. ^^"

ElysiumFate 06-06-2012 04:29 AM

Awh. That's a good plan even if you just spend it cuddling with Eli.

If I don't get a job soon, I'll be volunteering. I really need to start working on being more responsible in that kind of stuff. I'm really good with being responsible for school, but everything else? Eh. Not so much, although I'm better at some things than others.

serena yuy 06-06-2012 04:39 AM

If I stayed in the town I grew up in, I would have been able to get something out there because I volunteered every summer from when I was in highschool till I was in school and even during the year I would do some crafts with the kids. The summer was the summer reading program. I had many connections because of that ^^"

Yeah, this afternoon I was cuddling with Eli on the couch and I noticed that it was almost 30 min before I had to be at work. And I was sad because he was purring his little head off. :/

Well that would be really cool! ^.^
I remember when I was younger, like ten or so, my dad was doing research on our family and his step-mom called and asked him to stop doing it because she said he wouldn't like what he found. O.o So he stopped. It always made me more curious though.

ElysiumFate 06-06-2012 05:09 AM

o.o That would just...make me do it in hiding...but do it more vigorously. And that was the most unintentionally pervy statement I've ever typed. XD

And yeah, I don't think there's anyone famous actually in my family, but we've been associated with famous people. I know that somebody else was a Forester for the king of Austria back in the 1800s.
