I got some CDs today. :) Got the new Adam Lambert, Jessie J, and Justin Timberlake. Quite happy.

If anybody should have been impeached it was Bush. He was an awful president.

LonelyOtaku97 08-14-2012 03:49 AM

There was a rumor about impeaching Bush but it never did happen. With Clinton it was just the papparazi blowing everything out of proportion like with the "Zombie Apocalypse", but thats just how things work.

ElysiumFate 08-14-2012 04:11 AM

Speaking of the media overhyping stuff, I'm surprised people aren't freaking out more considering how close we are to the "2012 apocalypse." [roll]

Yeah, I heard the Bush impeaching rumors. I wanted them to be true so badly.

hummy 08-14-2012 04:22 AM

i don't want to be arguementitive at all, and mean no disrespect,
everyone has their own opinion and are entitled to it.
in fact i supported and defended that right.
but, i have to say this.
President Bush defended his country, period.
you cannot let someone come on to your land and kill your people.
he had to do something other than give lipservice like President Clinton did.
wagging your finger at someone/country after they have the balls to come on to your land and kill your people just would not have worked.
people can say what they will of President Bush, but he never once thought of his next election.
he did what he should have done in retaliation to their first strike.
Pearl Harbor taught us that, it was a costly mistake on our parts.
i am happy to see you guys talking politics and shocked by some of the things y'all think.
for me persoanlly, President Obama has done nothing good for me.
he is not pro military and he has really not done one good thing for us.
without your military a country is nothing, sad but true facts.
we do a lot to protect our way of life, freedom to say what you want,
and we get very little in return and do not ask for anything.
i am proud of my country, even in it's eff-ups,
and i always respect my Commander in Chief.
i just wish President Obama would show respect in return.
i am grateful he has never had to learn that there were terrorist strrikes against his country/people,
while reading to little children in class.
i pray every night that no other President has to make an awful choice,
not any President or all other countries Leaders.
i do enjoy reading y'all conversations very much.
i hope i have not offended anyone, it was not my intention.
have a nice night ladies.

ElysiumFate 08-14-2012 04:37 AM

That was unexpected.

I would have agreed with Bush's wars if it weren't for the fact that he accomplished absolutely nothing with them. I don't appreciate that he sent my cousin overseas to defend our country from weapons of mass destruction that didn't exist and it took until Obama's presidency for Osama Bin Laden to be disposed of. I don't appreciate the bills he signed that made it possible for all of America's jobs to be sent over seas. I don't appreciate the trillions of dollars in debt he put the country into. I don't appreciate that under his reign he made it possible for my father's benefits from a job he's worked for 40 years to be taken away.

I appreciate that Obama pulled my cousin out of his third deployment so that he could come home. I appreciate that he gave Seal Team 6 the ability to take out Bin Laden. I appreciate that he gave me free preventative medicine including things like birth control that should never have been questioned. I appreciate that he talks to his people and doesn't hide in a hole like Bush did. I also appreciate that he made it possible for me to stay on my parent's insurance until I'm 26 and that I get 2,500 back in taxes each year from my college tuition bill.

A military is important, but we must remember that it is full of living, breathing, people. It shouldn't be used unless it has to be. In the beginning Bush did the "right" thing by showing our country won't take terrorist attacks lying down, but his venture was unsuccessful.

Is he perfect? Nope. But I'd take 10 more Obama presidencies over one month more of Bush.

hummy 08-14-2012 04:52 AM

i'm sure it was unexpected.
i have not posted when i wanted to.
it was NOT President Bush's war!
that agrivates me to no end.
we were attacked and no one appreciates war.
but it was a necessary evil,
which we did not start.
not for oil or revenge.
the intelegence President Bush had was what he went on,
in a short amount of time, mind you.
President Obama is using the troops for his reelection,
nothing more.
i am a republican and i am not happy with the choice i have,
but i will not vote for Presiden Obama, simply because he is not promilitary.
when he needs a strong force he will not have one, sad to say.
i am glad you have a strong opinion, even if i disagree with you.
i am happy i defended your right to have freedom of choice.
i hope i didn't upset you and i am thrilled your cousin is home.
people doing their jobs in their country were not so lucky.
ten more Presidencies of President Obama will lead to socialism,
that is a scary thought.
it was nice talking with you.
[yes]
edit:what job did your father work for forty years
and President Bush cause his lose of benefits?
i am sorry to hear that.
my father was forced to retire, but not President Bush's fault

ElysiumFate 08-14-2012 05:02 AM

There's a lot there that I could argue with, but I can already see our opinions are polar so it'd just come to a dead end.

But, anyway, he works for a large international computer company. He'll have to keep the job for as long as they'll let him because they also took away his pension and retirement. Sorry to hear about your dad, too.

hummy 08-14-2012 05:12 AM

what was the reason he lost his benefits, though?
yeah, it totally sucks and he is miserable about it.
i didn't respond to a lot too, i respect your opinions.
i'm glad you get to stay on your parents insurance for three additional years.
it's a great bridge over Obamacare.
my insurance will most likely be gutted.
the economy is awful, still, and i don't see it getting much better anytime soon,
republican President or President Obama.
the resources are used elsewhere.
that pisses me off from both parties.
i mean who needs to know how fast ketchup flows,
or why women become pregnant when they drink?!!
the ketchup gets to the fries eventually
and we all know why women get pregnant when they drink!

ElysiumFate 08-14-2012 05:21 AM

Because the company started outsourcing everything overseas like most other U.S. companies. The only reason my dad still has his job is because he refuses to train the Chinese people they bring in to be his replacement. >.>

I respect your opinions too. If everybody believed the same thing nothing would ever change for the better.

I do agree, it doesn't matter which person gets elected at the end of the year, the economy is awful and neither candidates is going to completely fix it.

Lol, yeah, very true. That research would be much better used on medical conditions and cancer. There are so many things that go unfunded that shouldn't.

hummy 08-14-2012 05:30 AM

oh, that's awful.
i don't blame him for not helping them replace him.
i hope your father can work a long while.
i have seen a lot of companies bailout and move overseas.
i still try to buy American as much as possible.
*waves little flag*
it would be nice if the research monies were put to good use,
not just frivolous things or just to spend the monies before the end of the fiscal year.
that would produce more jobs and maybe cure something important.
my civilian job got gobbled up by another company.
my job went like five hours away and i couldn't relocate.

ElysiumFate 08-14-2012 05:35 AM

Some of his friends got let go because they didn't realize they were training their replacements. And thanks, we all hope he can.

I do too. If I see clothing made in America I buy it, or anything, really. I've come across a lot of American products lately, and I'm glad for that.

And I'm sorry about your job, that's no good. I spent years agonizing over choosing a degree that they couldn't outsource, and even then I hope it'll work for me (psychology).

hummy 08-14-2012 05:41 AM

that's a great choice.
i am not fond of outsourcing at all.
i wish everyone good fortune,
but if i need help i do really need to understand the person helping me.
i'm sorry about your father's coworkers,
but i am glad he saw the opportunity to avoid the same outcome.
i think my father trained his replacement, too.

LonelyOtaku97 08-14-2012 04:26 PM

Well since i'm more undeclared anyway on this whole thing i'm sorry about your father losing his retirement money Ely that's not good at all. This election is going to be an interesting as Obama wants to stay in office but i'm not voting for Romney republicans aren't my first choice. Although my father is dead I still claimed his retirement until I turned 23 which I just did but still everyones struggling.

ElysiumFate 08-14-2012 06:59 PM

Republicans and I have very different beliefs so I will probably never vote republican unless they truly come out with something that I can follow behind better than the democratic candidate. I'm not completely closed off, I just don't think that Romney would be a good thing for this country right now. Or ever. Not with the way he thinks of the middle class, spends money, and embarrasses the country every time he opens his mouth.

Sorry to hear about your father, Otaku.

`Kitami 08-14-2012 09:51 PM

For my part, I hated Bush and even though I campaigned for Obama (I wasn't old enough to vote by about two weeks) I don't like him anymore either and I'm....jaded....with him.
As for the upcoming election, I don't want Obama to be reelected and I so do not like Romney.
I'm this sort of Independent/Libertarian person, and both hardcore Dems and hardcore Reps get on my nerves. [sweat]

Glass 08-14-2012 10:01 PM

I dislike both choices, but I'd prefer almost anyone to Obama. He's made rather terrible choices, and I'd like to add, that he voted for every spending increase under Bush, so you can't really blame one without the other. Both spend too much, and do little to help our own economy.

I was really hoping for Ron Paul to be the candidate, but people are stupid, and we have yet another bad choice. Bleh.

ElysiumFate 08-15-2012 02:26 AM

No offense to anyone, but the topic should probably be changed before people's toes get stepped on. They kinda already have been, and it won't get any better.

So, on that note, what's everybody up to?

This is my last week before college starts up. It's the only real time off I've had in half a year. >.>

serena yuy 08-15-2012 04:48 AM

O.o I missed out on some political discussion. I wasn't home last night. ^^"

hummy 08-15-2012 04:50 AM

my tosies are fine, no worries.
i'm sick, so yeah not much fun.
i hope y'all have a nice week.
[:8]

serena yuy 08-15-2012 04:54 AM

aww no good Hummy. Feel better soon.

I got a message back from my roommate. I think this year shall be a good one ^^

ElysiumFate 08-15-2012 04:54 AM

All the good stuff happens when you aren't there to see it. [lol] It's how life is. ;)

Sorry to hear you're sick, hummy. I hope you get better soon!

---------- Post added 08-14-2012 at 10:54 PM ----------

She must've sounded nice, then. :)

serena yuy 08-15-2012 05:07 AM

Yeah. She seems like we'll get along this year :)
I know I'm getting the vacuum since she offered to get the rice cooker if needed ^^

ElysiumFate 08-15-2012 05:13 AM

Do you each have one of those things or do you need to buy them?

serena yuy 08-15-2012 06:12 AM

I have to get a vacuum. Neither of us have a rice cooker. I think she mentioned she'd get the rice cooker online. I'll let her know I'll get the vacuum.

ElysiumFate 08-15-2012 06:20 AM

Vacuums are so expensive. Hopefully you can find a good cheap one.
