Yeah, everybody pays out there butt for schooling, now. That and most people pay out their butt for schooling they aren't even sure is in the field they want to go into. Drives me nuts. If businesses are demanding highly specialized people, then they should try their hand at paying for them.
I went and sat in the wrong classroom for ten minutes the other day because I didn't check the room number and all the rooms look the same. The teacher came in, and I was like...wtf am I? [lol] |
Yeah. Come on, we're unable to get a good job unless we go to school and get a high degree, but yet the education costs so much, most people cannot afford it. :/ I have aid, but I still have to come up with almost 2,000 this semester and come up with 1,400+ in the summer for my housing.
Lol, I can see doing that, I have classrooms here that look all the same ^^" It's surprising I never would do that here or at my university ^^" |
Luckily for me I've always wanted a higher degree, but some people don't. Some would be happy to just go to work, but you really can't do that anymore. I get nostalgic occasionally for the times when America really was a "pull yourself up by your bootstraps" kinda place. I don't think it is, anymore, tbh. Now it's a place where you have to do certain things to even remotely get anywhere.
Even the outside of the classrooms look the same. It's kinda like in old movies where they just had screens going by in the background that repeated the same scene over and over again. |
Same, I've always wanted to get the Master's degree. It's fine that some people don't want to. I just hate it when people will waste their time and money going to school and not bothering to do anything and just drop out. But then, it's their money. ^^"
Lol! Ok, I can see where you'd get confused. Good thing you realised it ^^ I think I'll start heading to bed. Night, have a good day tomorrow. ^^ |
Something that's a pet peeve of mine is how on the first day of classes you can't get a seat unless you show up 20 minutes early to lecture, but the third day of class there are plenty of extras because so many people have already given up.
I would've sat there till it was too late, too, if I hadn't looked over and seen something labeled with "do not remove from Clark 103" and I'm like...I thought this was 102. XD |
Yeah, I hate those people who just give up by the 2nd week. I try to stick it out as long as I can and in the end am happy I did. ^^
Though I do enjoy being able to just sit anywhere after then. ^^" |
I agree. There's only one class I wish I'd just dropped that I didn't, and that was a Mythology class with a bad professor that I saw coming on the first day.
Yeah, I've had those too. Even though I suffer through because of the grad requirement :(
That was a class I didn't have to take unless I wanted to, so that's mostly why I regret it. If it'd been a grad requirement I wouldn't have minded so much.
ahh ok. Yeah, I can see that.
I'm having a moment tonight debating whether I made the right choice in going to grad school. :/ I guess I'm just overwhelmed. Maybe I'll be better after this weekend. ^^" |
Oh no. Don't regret it, Ser. What's making you doubt yourself?
the workload and being overwhelmed. Well, not so much the load, but the type of work. I dunno if I'm cut out for the online class. Can't drop it, lose aid or something. Plus it's too late.
You'll figure it out, Ser. It's just new territory and it'll take a little time. I'm having trouble figuring my new school out, as well, but we'll both be fine. :)
Yeah, you're right ^^"
I just had a moment ^^" I'm still taking it all in everything ^^" |
Yeah, it's freaky. I'm not good with change, myself, so I understand.
Yeah, even though it's been about a month, it's still taking a bit ^^"
I'll probably not get used to this for a couple more months, tbh.
Yeah same here ^^" I'm used to smaller schools and the whole undergrad thing. ^^"
I'm just used to the smaller schools. Never have gone to a very large school, so this is very strange to me.
Same here. Fredonia wasn't not much bigger than the community college I went to. This is strange to me considering I'm on North campus which itself is pretty big, and then you add we have a south campus in downtown buffalo as well. o.o
I guess it's because it just makes me feel like an ant. I don't mind so much that the campus is big, but it kinda makes me realize just how little I matter considering how many people are there doing the same exact thing as me, ya know?
It's like, if you want to be even partially noticeable, you've really got to be special. |
Yeah pretty much. You can't just be a normal student, you actually have to do something, be part of 5mil things just to even get some sort of recognition.
And who the hell wants to do that? I prefer sleep. And cookies. Cookies are good.
YES cookies are good. I was thinking of buying brownie mix earlier at the campus store when I was there this afternoon after work ^^" and getting chcoltae chips to make them more awesome :D
Hahaha. Mmm, that sounds yummy. I like brownies, but I make them homemade these days because I found this amazing easy recipe, and they're like eating a chunk of heaven.
Boxed brownie mix is good, too, but I do hate boxed cookie mix. Never tastes good. >.> |
