"Umm well…" Lyda said shifted a bit herself looking at Curry, "I don't suppose you have any hobbies that aren't considered dangerous. Do you?" She asked.
"I play the guitar. I like music. Strangely enough, I'm obsessed with Gothic fashion, as well. As for healthy hobbies...that would be about it," Curry admitted, cracking a grin.
She nodded thinking, "Well I'll see about letting you get a guitar...." She offered smiling at him a bit. "We---Well I at least---don't want you to feel like a prisoner..." She said. Yes she was a bit disturbed and confused by what he did. And admittedly a bit disgusted but she wasn't going to judge him just yet.
"As long as I'm stuck in here...I'll feel like a prisoner. There's no way around that," Curry retorted, pointedly. "Something to occupy my time and not drive me insane would be nice..."
Despite the crimes he'd committed, he seemed much more sane than most people... |
Lyda nodded, "Allright then...." She said. She couldn't find anything to say back to that.
Curry embraced the silence, until something else came to mind. "...Ah. There is something else I'd like, if it's possible...actual bedding..."
Right now, Curry had no bed, or even a cot. He had a white, padded room...not even a pillow, or a blanket. |
Lyda nodded, "Yeah no problem I'll go get them now if you want…" She said standing up slowly getting ready To go out and fetch some blankets and pillows.
Curry's whole face lit up, and he grinned. "That'd be nice, thank you." At least he had some manners. He was a brute in many ways, but he could be a gentleman if he tried.
Lyda couldn't help smiling back at him, "No problem it would ge against my morals to let you go cold." She said before going out quickly getting the items he requested.
Curry seemed quite thankful, and immediately set out a makeshift bed for himself. The blanket was a little small for him, but he curled up when he slept, so it wasn't a big problem.
She smiled happily watching him. "I hope that's allright foe you…" She said softly looking at him.
"It's fine...better than fine. I haven't had a decent night's sleep in who knows how long." Despite what his folder said about him, Curry seemed to be sane...perhaps because he was in a controlled environment?
Lyda nodded thinking. "It's understandable that you haven't been sleeping well…I'm sure this hasn't been easy for you…"
"I just don't like being caged up like some beast. I can think--I'm no animal..." Curry's nose wrinkled slightly, as he laid down in his makeshift bed to get comfortable. He still wanted to talk to her, if she still wanted to talk.
"Well I know that. But do you think that animals can't think?" Lyda asked curriously.
"Animals can think. They're just not capable of sentient thought...most of them aren't, anyway. The closest to humans are probably apes, or dolphins..." Curry clarified, idly. "No matter how you look at it, they aren't as intelligent as us. They're superior in other ways, but not in mind."
Lyda girnned wildly clapping her hand, then stopped clearing her throat. "Ah you wouldn't believe how few people beileve that. Most believe animals a just bodies with instinct and no thought."
"That's not true..." Curry stretched a little more, then closed his eyes--he seemed to be tired out from all the talking. "I know it's visiting day...my sister should be coming to see me...tell her to return in a little while--I need to nap for a bit. You should recognize her, in the lobby...she has my eyes..."
"Alright well then I'll leave And give her the message…" She said getting up and heading to he door, "I'll see you tomorrow…"
"Mm-hm..." Curry was already falling asleep--the simple comfort that a pillow and blanket brought was enough to quickly lull him into sleep.
Lyda smiled as she signed out and headed to the lobby to let Curry's sister know he was sleeping. She would have to think long and hard about Curry. He was interesting. Scary and tall…but interesting.
The lobby was filled with people waiting to visit their loved ones. One of the ones that stuck out was a redhead sitting alone in one of the chairs, fixing any passing doctors with a cold, dead stare.

Lyda saw her and nodded as she walked towards the girl. "Um excuse me?" She said gently, "Sorry if I am mistaken…but are you Curry's sister?" She asked looking at her hoping she hadn't made a mistake.
"Yes. Why?" The girl, in contrast to Curry, seemed cold and bitter. Her eyes held absolutely no emotion. She did not like medical establishments of any kind...
"Ah well he's sleeping right now…and he wanted me to tel you to come back latter to see him…" She said forcing a smile. Curry's sister was creeping her out a bit. It seemed mire likely that she should be the one locked up and not Curry. Lyda quickly pushed the thoughts away. She didn't want to judge afterall his sister was probably going through alot.
