"Well, better get a move on, then. We can make tonight a date for you two." Damien grinned.
|
Taylor rolled his eyes, but nodded.
"Let's go," he said. "We should check on them, at least, make sure they're recovering okay." |
Damien nodded and started walking. "Come on, then. You should probably take your own car, in case you plan on staying longer."
|
"I was planning on it," Taylor said. "Once we check on the girls, we can decide what to do from there."
|
Damien nodded. "Great. Follow me over." He moved over to his car, getting in and waiting for Taylor to catch up.
|
Taylor nodded and went to his car. He knew where the girls lived, but he would follow Damien anyways. No sense in arguing over it.
|
Damien led the way over to the girls' house, parking in the driveway and pulling out the keys. He let himself in, leaving the door open for Taylor. He knocked on the doorframe quietly to see if anyone was awake yet. "Rose?"
|
Nobody immediately came to greet the two. After a moment, the tomcat came out from behind the couch and ran up the stairs. Obviously, he felt this was a grand excuse to wake Rose up so he could go out. A few moments later, there was a shuffling upstairs and Rose came down with the cat over one arm, her other hand rubbing her nose.
"Evil little monster," she grumbled. She blinked when she saw the two, and the blushed brightly. |
"Hey," Damien said with a smile. "I thought I better come check on you two, make sure you were feeling okay. And give you back your keys." He held them up. "Sorry, I kept them so I could lock up after myself earlier."
Sera shuffled down the stairs a few moments later, yawning briefly. "Wassup?" she mumbled, still half-asleep. |
"At least you brought them back," Rose replied. To be honest, she didn't mind that he borrowed her keys. "Evil demon cat bit my nose," she added to Sera. "I'm going to toss him outside and hope he decides to pick on something his own size."
|
Sera snorted, seeming to wake up a little. "Yeah, you're too small for him," she said with a playful grin. She paused when she saw Taylor. "Hey."
Damien chuckled. "Want me to teach him a lesson?" he asked teasingly. Mostly. |
Rose rolled her eyes at Sera.
"It's alright," she said to Damien. "I'll throw him out like he wants, but he won't get a treat of canned food tonight because he chewed on my nose. Just dry food for him." "Hey yourself," Taylor said, grinning at Sera. "You look a lot better." |
Damien snorted and moved aside so she could throw the cat out. "He sounds interesting to live with," he said dryly.
"Thanks. I feel better. I don't know what happened." Sera shrugged cluelessly. |
Rose went and dropped the cat just outside the door. The cat immediately darted off into the bushes. Rose rolled her eyes.
"He'll be back," she said. Taylor shrugged as well. "Who knows?" he said. "At least you're feeling better again." |
"I figured he would. He seems too intelligent to not know when to come back in." Damien chuckled merrily, shaking his head at the cat's antics.
"Yeah, I guess." Sera sighed. "Oh well. At least I don't have to put up with Eliza for the rest of the day." |
"He knows where he gets fed," Rose said. "And he knows that if he doesn't come in at sunset, he stays out all night."
"Well, if you want, I could at least take you back to pick up your car," Taylor offered. "I doubt you want to leave it sitting in the parking lot all night." |
"Yeah, that sounds about right." Damien smiled.
"Do you want to go get your car? I'm headed back to the zoo anyway, and I figured you probably wouldn't want to leave it there all night." Sera smiled a little and nodded. "That would be great, thanks." She paused for a moment. "Let me get into something better for driving. And shoes. Shoes are good." |
"That would be wonderful, thank you," Rose replied. "Let me just go and change into something a little less wrinkled."
Taylor nodded to Sera, grinning a bit. It was cute how she was rambling a bit. |
"Sure. I'll wait." Damien smiled and leaned back against the wall to wait for her.
Sera noticed she was rambling and blushed, fleeing back upstairs to go get into different clothes. She pulled on jeans and a t-shirt, grabbing a jacket. |
Rose went upstairs and quickly changed into a fresh shirt and a pair of jeans. Sliding her feet into a pair of shoes, she grabbed her bag before going back downstairs.
"Alright, I'm ready," she said. Taylor leaned against the wall, waiting for Sera to get back. He glanced around the room, noting the snake and the rats. |
Damien waited patiently until she returned. Then he nodded. "Alright, let's get going. See you, Taylor."
Nodding to his friend, he opened the door for Rose and went out to his car, unlocking it and opening the passenger door for her. "Are you hungry at all? We can stop for food, if you want." Sera clumped downstairs a fewmoments after her, wearing combat boots. "Okie dokie, I'm ready to go." |
"Actually, that sounds nice," Rose replied as she got into his car. She hadn't realized she was hungry until he mentioned it, but getting something to eat sounded good.
"Impressive shoes," Taylor commented as Sera came down the stairs. |
Damien nodded. "Alright. We'll stop on the way. You have anything in mind? Hamburgers? Salad?"
"Thanks. They were a gift. I'm rather fond of them." Sera grinned and walked over to him. |
"Anywhere is fine," Rose replied. She wasn't really all that picky today.
"Well, if you're ready, we can go," Taylor said. "You want to stop and grab a bite to eat while we're out?" |
Damien nodded and started driving, heading over to a cafe nearby. "You should be able to find something you like here. They have a pretty good selection." After parking he got out and opened her door for her.
"Sure, that sounds good. I never did get to eat much at the zoo." Sera stretched briefly before heading for the door, pulling out her keys. |
