Rose nodded and followed Sera. She knew it was getting late, and they would probably have to leave soon.
Taylor raised an eyebrow. "What did you think I meant by it?" he asked. |
Sera watched them for a few minutes before she sighed. "We should probably get going so we don't get stuck in traffic."
"I don't know. I don't know how your mind works." Damien looked over at the girls. |
Rose sighed a bit as well.
"Yeah," she said. "Though I don't know how much traffic we'll hit at this hour." "Honestly, how long have we worked together?" Taylor joked. He shrugged. "Nah, she's interesting enough. Definitely has a backbone." |
"Hopefully not too much." Sera sighed a little. "We can always come back again later."
"Seems like someone you'd go out with." Damien grinned briefly. |
"Right," Rose agreed. She checked the time and sighed. "Yeah, we should go. I need to get some sleep before work tomorrow."
"Maybe," Taylor shrugged. "What about you? I thought I saw a spark or two with you and that other girl." |
"Yeah, really." Sera stretched, turning to look at the other two. "Well, we're gonna head out. Thanks for putting up with us."
"I do like her," Damien said. He looked over at Sera when she spoke and then switched his gaze to Rose. "My pleasure." |
"We didn't mean to take up so much time," Rose added. She would probably end up being back soon, though she had no idea if she'd see Damien again. He was probably really busy. She blushed a bit when he looked at her.
Taylor waved off the pseudo-apology. "Glad to be of assistance," he replied, giving Sera an easy grin. He figured it wouldn't be quite that easy to make her melt, but it was worth a shot. |
Sera smiled a little. "Well, it was fun. See you later sometime." She nodded to Taylor and Damien with a little smile and headed out of the park.
Damien nodded to her, giving Rose an extra special smile as he watched them leave. |
Rose couldn't help but blush more, and hurried after Sera.
"Already breaking out the heavy artillery with this one?" Taylor asked teasingly. "You must really like her. You never use that grin." |
Sera headed back to the car, glancing over at Rose. "So did you two have fun?"
"I've never felt the need to." Damien glanced over at Taylor, amused. "And you usually don't try so hard to get a girl to like you." |
"I did," Rose replied. "We talked about cats the entire time, believe it or not."
"Guilty as charged," Taylor admitted. "She's different, though. I can't quite put my finger on how, but she is." |
Sera laughed a little. "Very good. That actually sounds like fun."
Damien nodded. "Rose was very nice. I'd like to see her again." |
"What about you?" Rose asked. "What distracted you from the tour, besides the obvious?"
"And by 'nice' you mean 'potentially a crazy-cat-lady'," Taylor joked. "She practically screamed 'children's librarian', and you know those are always the ones to turn into the crazy cat ladies." |
"Well, I was talking with Taylor. He's the vet here, so we were talking Vet stuff." Sera grinned.
"Hey, I might be able to convert her to crazy big cat lady," Damien said with a smirk. |
"That doesn't surprise me," Rose said as she got into the car. She grinned. "He was good-looking, though."
"Geeze, you really do like that one," Taylor said. "You're acting like a happy house cat." |
"So was that guy. What's his name, Damien?" Sera grinned.
"I can't help it," Damien said with a grin. |
"Yeah, he was," Rose agreed, a bit dreamily.
"If I didn't know better, I'd say you'd gotten into the catnip," Taylor teased. He had a bad habit of teasing too much, so he would probably stop soon. |
Sera laughed a little and continued driving back home.
"Oh shut up, you," Damien said, shoving him playfully. |
Rose ended up dozing off in the car, which wasn't all that unusual. It happened a lot.
"I call it like I see it," Taylor said. |
"Come on. Wake up, Rose," Sera said with a little smile. "We're home."
"And I say you like that other girl," Damien shot back. |
"'M awake," Rose muttered automatically. It was obvious that she wasn't.
"Again, define 'like'," Taylor said. "You know me, man." |
"Sure you are, dear," Sera said with a grin. "Come on, inside we go."
"Like as in you don't just want her as a one-night stand." Damien smirked at him. |
Rose stretched and got out of the car.
"I think I'm crashing for the night," she said, yawning. "Guilty," Taylor said. "Like I said, there's just something about her." |
"Yeah, it sure looks like," Sera said with a grin. "Go ahead up to bed."
Damien chuckled and nodded. "Well, I'm off for the night." |
"Alright," Rose said. "If my cat wants a can of food, indulge her. I never got around to giving her one today." Although Rose left dry food out for her cat all the time, the feline was spoiled rotten.
"Same," Taylor said. He stretched a bit. "Later." |
