"Just something to drink," Rose replied. She didn't move to get up, though.
Damien nodded and left to go get drinks for them.
The siren sidled up to them again, having managed to evade Taylor so far, and found them alone. "Ladies," he greeted smoothly, already starting to unfurl his power, a little at a time. |
Rose blinked and tried to shake off the sudden confusion and fuzzy-headedness, but it wouldn't go away. In the back of her mind, she knew there was something wrong with it, but she couldn't figure out what, or why it was important.
"I was thinking maybe we could go somewhere else for a little while," the Siren purred, his voice seductive, twining the compulsion around them. "Shall we?"
Sera nodded absently, having had a double dose of his influence. |
Rose was still putting up a bit of resistance, though.
"I don't... think that's a good idea..." she said uncertainly. |
"Don't worry," he crooned. "Your friends are going to meet us out there."
Sera got up after a moment, swaying just a little. The Siren took hold of her arm and offered his other hand to Rose. "Please?" |
That seemed to make sense to Rose's foggy brain, so she reached out and took his hand.
The Siren smiled and pulled them both out of the club and to the small parking lot behind. He kept humming lightly to keep them both where he wanted them.
Damien got back to the table and started looking around rather frantically. Where the hell had they gotten to? Then he caught a whiff of the smell, sea salt and musk, and growled deep in his chest. He followed the scent out of the club and to the door, his eyes practically glowing. |
Taylor glanced around for the siren, trying to find him, and spotted Damien practically running for the door. That wasn't good. Pushing his way through the crowd, he followed.
Damien snarled quietly when he saw them and stalked over to the Siren, his eyes practically glowing. He gently pulled Sera and Rose away, handing them off to Taylor before he grabbed the Siren with a loud snarl. The little logical part of him knew he couldn't leave a bloodbath in the parking lot, so he started to drag the Siren away.
Sera blinked a few times, now very confused and unstable. |
Taylor wrapped an arm around Sera's waist to keep her from falling over, and made sure to hold on to Rose's upper arm. There was no way he was going to get in Damien's way, so he led the girls away, over to the cars.
Rose blinked slowly, not sure what was going on. Her thoughts were all still fuzzy and slow, and she felt a bit off-balance. |
Sera couldn't focus at all, barely able to keep standing. She blinked several times, still feeling woozy. "Taylor? Just happened?"
"I'll explain once you're thinking a bit more clearly," Taylor replied. Carefully, he helped her sit down on the back of his car, and then helped Rose do the same.
Rose shook her head a little bit, but her thoughts didn't clear any faster. "Still fuzzy," she mumbled. "It'll pass," Taylor said. |
Sera rested her head back against the headrest, closing her eyes. "'m cold," she muttered after a minute.
Reaching into the front seat, Taylor dragged out his jacket and wrapped it around her shoulders.
"Better?" he asked. |
Sera nodded, huddling into the jacket gratefully and closing her eyes. Within two minutes she was asleep.
Taylor glanced at Rose once Sera was asleep, making sure nothing happened. When he saw that she had dozed off, too, he settled in to keep an eye on them until Damien got back.
Damien called a little while later. "Can you get the two back to their house? I'm... not fit to be seen in public right now. I'll meet you over there."
"Sure," Taylor replied. At least Damien sounded relatively calm and civilized again, that was good. "Take your time, I'll make sure they get home in one piece."
"I'm calm, at least, and I'll clean up before I go over there." Damien was quiet for a few seconds. "I'll see you over there."
"Alright," Taylor said. Once they hung up, he made sure the girls were alright in the car before getting in himself and heading back.
Sera slept the whole way over, and woke up only once they were already back at the house. She blinked a few times, still disoriented. "The hell...?"
"We decided it was best to bring you home," Taylor said. He had already killed the engine when Sera had woken up. "Damien is going to meet us here in a few minutes, he had to take care of something first."
"Okay," Sera agreed in a mumble. She managed to get out of the car by herself, and she staggered towards the door, trying to fish out her keys at the same time. She listed off to the side and onto the lawn, and then blinked when she couldn't find the door again.
Taylor helped Rose out of the car, and then went to get Sera again. Rose didn't seem to be stumbling quite so much, but she hadn't gotten as much exposure to the siren as Sera had. Taylor gently took Sera's keys and opened the door for her.
