"Work," Sera said, attempting to get out of bed. It took her a few seconds to disentangle herself enough to actually get up, still holding a blanket around herself. "I'm supposed to be there in five minutes."
Ha. Like that was going to happen. |
"So call and tell them you're running late," Taylor suggested. He'd done the same thing before. "They don't get mad about it the first couple of times you show up late, as long as they're not too close together."
|
Sera stuck out her tongue at him for making too much sense, but managed to retrieve her cell phone anyway.
A quick call later she gathered up her clothes, deciding she needed a quick shower first. Just in case. "I'm gonna take a shower and then head over to work. You can hang out here if you want." |
"You go on and get ready," Taylor said, sitting up. "I'll shower after you, and I'll take care of your pets before I leave." He paused. "Unless you want me to stay so I'm here when you get back. It's up to you."
|
Sera leaned over and gave him a quick kiss. "Up to you. I wouldn't mind having you here when I get home, but if you have things you have to do at home I don't mind."
|
Taylor returned the kiss.
"I can be here when you get home," he said. He didn't mind staying, it wasn't like he had anything important to do at home. "If something comes up, I can always let you know." |
Sera nodded. "Sounds fair to me," she said before slipping into the bathroom.
Ten minutes later she came out fully dressed. "See you later," she said, grabbing her shoes and pulling them on as she hopped towards the door. |
Taylor nodded.
"See you later," he replied. On the other side of town, Rose was snuggled in comfortably with Damien, dozing. |
Sera managed to get to work only twenty minutes late, and took the time out of her lunch break to make up for it.
Damien was only half-awake, tracing idle patterns on Rose's back as he laid there, feeling comfy and very, very lazy. |
Taylor showered once Sera left, and then made sure to go around and take care of her pets once he was dressed. He even took care of Rose's cats, so nobody was left out.
Rose snuggled a bit closer to Damien with a pleased sigh. She was feeling relaxed and lazy as well. |
"We should probably get up," Damien said quietly a few hours later. "It is lunch time, after all."
But he didn't move, just kept lazily tracing lines across her back and side. |
"Are you getting up?" Rose asked just as quietly. She made no move to get out of bed, either.
|
"I should," Damien said. "I have to make sure the cat has food and water, and all that stuff. But I really, really don't want to."
|
"I don't want to get up either," Rose replied. Turning a bit, she gave him a kiss. "And I'm sure that when Sera gets a chance, she's going to text me asking if we even bothered to get out of bed." She grinned.
|
Damien laughed quietly and pulled her closer, kissing her again. "Well then," he murmured, "we should get up briefly so you can honestly say yes, you did. Maybe get something to snack on."
He paused as he kissed her soundly again. "And then we can get back in bed." |
Rose grinned and returned the kisses.
"I think I like that plan," she replied. She snuggled a bit closer to him before moving back so he could get up. She should probably check her phone quickly anyways, since she was technically always the 'text a librarian' on duty. |
Damien got up and went to go find some clothes before padding down the stairs to check on the cat and get something to eat. He knew there was a reason he'd gotten fruits.
|
Rose got up as well, and put her clothes on. She checked her messages once she was dressed, replying to a few that had come in within the last ten minutes or so from the library. There were only two or three, and they were easy enough to answer, so she quickly sent off replies before checking her personal messages.
|
Sera had sent her a text: Bet you're not even up yet. Animals taken care of, Taylor still at house. Have fun! ^.~
Damien glanced up the stairs. "You like strawberries, babe?" |
Rose grinned a bit. Yeah, she'd been expecting that text.
"Yeah, strawberries are great," she called back to Damien. She was working on a text back to Sera. I am up, in fact, although that may be a temporary state. I bet you and Taylor had a good evening together. ^_~ That last bit was mostly teasing on her part, she knew Sera enjoyed spending time with Taylor regardless of what they did. |
Sera pulled out her phone as soon as she got the text. She'd been demoted to doing laundry and cleaning today, which she hated. At least she was getting paid.
Ha! I knew it! You're so lazy sometimes :D Damien cut up some strawberries, leaving half of the basket whole, and set them out on the table with some blueberries and blackberries as well. |
I am totally allowed to be lazy sometimes, Rose replied. After a moment, she grinned and sent, Besides, he's nice to snuggle with. She made her way downstairs, intent on getting some strawberries. She loved strawberries.
|
Sera rolled her eyes. At least you get to cuddle, she texted. I'm stuck doing laundry and cleaning out cages and all the menial tasks the other tech doesn't want to do.
Damien smiled when he saw her, and then chuckled when her phone went off. "Sera?" he guessed. |
"Yeah," Rose replied distractedly to Damien as she worked on a reply to Sera. You didn't have to volunteer for extra shifts, you know, she said. I didn't. They try to put extra sifts on the weekends, and the library wants me on the weekends most of the time.
|
Yeah but I need the extra money for my trip, Sera grumped. Besides, you have two jobs, ish. I only have the one.
Damien chuckled and put out a bowl so she could grab what she wanted, popping a blueberry in his mouth. He was half-tempted to make blueberry pancakes instead. |
